My Role

My role as a camera operator requires me to, make sure the camera is recoding and is in focus. I also
have to make sure that the people we are recording are in frame and that the lighting isn’t too dark
or too light so I have to work closely with the
lighting team and if there are any problems
with lighting on camera we will have to come
together and fix it. I also have to zoom in and
out in certain parts of our programme so I
have to listen to our director and what they
say so I have to be alert and ready for
instructions. I have to make sure my IOS
settings are the same as my other camera
operators, and I have to make sure that the
mic is plugged in correctly and that the sound is appearing at the bottom of my camera. I also have
to make sure my tripod is steady and secured and that its centred, because if my tripod is taller in
one leg than the other then we will have a un centred shot and it will look different too the other
cameras. I also have to make sure that my battery level is full and I have to make sure I have spare
batteries while we are filming in case my camera gets low.
