CHAPTER 1

ROHITH WAS OPPRESSED

AND DEPRESSED BY THE
CASTE SYSTEM

CASTE IS ORGANIZED GROUP HATRED AND DIVISION. Caste desensitizes and

blinds people. Caste is organized group hatred. Strengthening caste will strengthen
hatred. Each major caste is divided into sub-castes and further into sub-sub-castes. And
every caste fought against every other caste.
Untouchability is worse than slavery. A slave has a personality. But an untouchable has
no personality. It is the worst kind of slavery devised by man. It enslaved not only the
body but also the mind of man. Slaves of the world were liberated but the untouchables of
India could not get rid of the stigma and disabilities imposed by religion and enforced by
rulers. Slaves could revolt, but not the untouchables, as they are divided into thousands of
castes and sub-castes. Untouchability is a system of uncontrolled economic exploitation
and social degradation. And religion was used to inculcate mental slavery and fear so that
the oppressed sections of people would not rebel against the system.
There is no sympathy to the deserving. There is no appreciation of the meritorious. There
is no charity to the needy. Suffering as such calls for no response. There is charity but it
begins with caste and ends with caste. There is sympathy but not for men of other castes.
As a result of such moral and material degradation, which still continues even after
generations of servility, they can only see virtue in serfdom, cruelty and meaningless
customs. There is perpetual subordination and disunion, that it deliberately suppressed
the intellectual and moral growth of the people. Inequality, no doubt exists everywhere in
the world. It is due largely to conditions and circumstances. But when it becomes part of
the socio-religious official doctrine, it becomes unfortunate to many.

CHAPTER 2

A MURDEROUS VICIOUS CIRCLE–

CASTE SYSTEM NECESSITATES RESERVATION AND RESERVATION
PERPETUATES CASTE

Inequalities institutionalized by caste are addressed through caste based reservation

system which in turn requires mentioning caste and religion in all certificates and
application forms. And this perpetuates caste and facilitates very accurate caste based
discrimination and oppression, and will reinvigorate jealousy and hatred.
If caste and religion are not mentioned in documents, there may be some relief from the
caste and religion based discrimination for the common man. The system of mentioning
of the caste and religion is the cause of perpetual systematic caste and religious
discrimination and hatred in the educational institutions and offices.
Moreover reservation only helps very few elites in the particular caste group and they
become an elite group among their castes, and is of no use to their own caste people.
But such people will be manipulated to be in the forefront of the struggles. Politicians
will only try to appease the people for votes.
Reservation and naming the caste will perpetuate caste and religious discrimination and
violence and harm the nation in the long run.
WHAT IS REQUIRED IS SOME KIND OF RESERVATION SYSTEM WHICH WILL
IMMEDIATELY MEET THE BASIC NEEDS OF THE POOREST SECTIONS OF THE
PEOPLE.
THERE IS NO EQUALITY IN QUALITY. AND THERE IS NO ALTERNATIVE FOR
MERIT. BUT IT IS THE COMPASSION, LOVE AND CARE FOR THE UNFORTUNATE
BRETHREN WHAT MAKES ONE REALLY HUMAN.

CHAPTER 3

ROHITH WAS BULLIED

BY THE STATE AND SOCIETY

RECENT EVENTS MADE ROHITH TO KILL HIMSELF. The sequence of events

leading to the suicide was plaguing Rohith’s life, when he decided to end it in his
friend’s room.

IF YOU ARE WEAK ANYONE CAN HOUND YOU. If you are a dalit or minority
community, anyone can easily suppress you. The more vulnerable the victim, the
greater is the pleasure of hunting him.

Rohith had experienced caste imposed social isolation, financial disabilities, allegation
of an assault on a fellow student, suspension by his university authorities, sudden loss
of financial support from the University, accusation of being “casteist, extremist and anti-
national” by high level political authorities, frictions between student groups, lack of true
love support especially in the absence of enough financial means for basic survival….
All have had enough power to suck the strength of an average person.

A young man thrown down to the roads without money, hunger, thirst, heat, humiliation
of having to borrow to survive. It denies the logic of dignity in man. Rohith hangs himself
within the caste colored educational tree. The dignity of the authorities stands ashamed.
You don’t have to believe in hell fire to be there.

BULLYING CAN HAVE A PROFOUND EFFECT ON THE WAY PEOPLE THINK AND
HOW THEY FEEL.Most people experience bullying to some degree while growing up
and going through school – it’s an inevitable part of life. Most people that are bullied
tend to feel extremely depressed, worthless, and hopeless to change their
situation.Unfortunately in many cases, bullying goes completely unrecognized until the
victim can’t take it anymore and sees suicide as the only way to escape the pain that
they are experiencing.
WHAT OTHERS SAID ABOUT ROHITH’S SUICIDE EXPOSES STATE
BULLYING.Prime Minister Modi said - my country’s young son, Rohith, was forced to
commit suicide… Rahul Gandhi, Congress: I have come here for Rohith, but he is not
alone. Every student, every university has this problem. I have not come here as a
politician, I have come as a young person who understands your concern. These
students were protesting against the unjust expulsion and social boycott of Dalit
students on campus. The idea of a University is that young people can come and share
their thoughts. Every student can come to the University- whether he belongs to any
caste or religion. He should feel that I can say what I want to say. But when you impose
ideas on youngsters, and want only those ideas, then tragedies take place. The VC and
Union Ministers in Delhi have not acted fairly. This youngster was put in so much pain
that he had no option but to kill himself…. Rahul Gandhi said - "They snatched his life.
Now they want to steal his identity.

SitaramYechury, CPM: What has happened is contrary to the fundamental rights of the
Constitution. People involved, including Cabinet minister, should be punished. But 12
students committed suicide here, there's something wrong with the university.

Some in the ruling party took the position that Rohith was not a dalit, and that his death
should not be made amatter for Dalit versus non-Dalit confrontation.

CHAPTER 4

AN UNJUST SOCIETY INJECTED THE POISON OF DEPRESSION INTO HIM

FORCING HIM TO SUICIDE

ROHITH WAS NOT HAPPY WITH THE NOOSE AROUND HIS NECK. He might want
to present like that. But the young man knowing little about life was most miserable.
Rohith was depressed. Depression is not a crime. But making a person depressed is a
crime. But who was responsible for it? How can student survive without money, and not
be depressed?

FRUSTRATION AND DEPRESSION ARE TRIGGERED BY THE SOCIETY.

Dissatisfaction arises from unresolved problems or unfulfilled needs. You cannot
achieve what you wanted. It arises from the perceived resistance to the fulfillment of
individual will.Depression is the most common reason people commit suicide.
Severe depression is always accompanied by a pervasive sense of suffering. The pain
of existence often becomes too much for severely depressed people to bear. The state
of depression warps their thinking, allowing ideas like "Everyone would all be better off
without me" to make rational sense.
ROHITH’S FORCED SUICIDE – PROOF THAT SOCIAL INJUSTICE CAUSES
DEPRESSION AND SUICIDE. Society is failing the individual. It is the proof that society
has failed to fulfill its responsibilities to the individual. It is the mentality that I don’t care
for my brother, let him die, I shall help him to die. Suicide is a weakness or sickness but
those around the victim and responsible for the act directly and indirectly are more sick.

SOCIAL ISOLATION – When the only financial source is cut off, social isolation
begins to set in. If you have money people will gather around you. If you need to
borrow money, people will run away from you. Being socially isolated from society
can take a toll on the mental health and lead a person to become depressed and
consider suicide. Socializing and interacting with other people is a basic human need. If
social needs are not met, a person can start to feel lonely which leads to depression
and possibly suicidal thoughts. Loneliness can be defined as a general feeling of
sadness as a result of being alone or feeling disconnected from others.
People who are struggling financially sometimes see no end in sight to their debt and
bills. The financial stress can take a major toll on a person’s mental health. There have
been cases of even millionaires committing suicide because they spent all of their
money or had to file for bankruptcy. In the event that a person becomes embarrassed
about their finances and feels depressed about their debt, they may consider suicide as
a way to escape this situation.

HE BECAME ALONE AS LOVE WAS NOT RETUNRED. I can never recover from my
childhood loneliness. The unappreciated child from my past.He laments in the note, he
loved people without knowing they were long divorced from nature. All Rohith saw
around him was second-hand feelings, constructed love, colored beliefs and artificial
art. Rohith concludes, it is difficult to love without getting hurt.

TOWARDS SUICIDE FROM SUFFERING AND DEPRESSION.Unfortunately, life is

hard for all people. Everyone is susceptible to crumbling under pressure. When
suffering becomes intensive and unbearable, some people have thoughts of suicide.
Feeling trapped and unable to cope with a particular situation in life tends to lead people
to consider suicide. When pain exceeds our abilities to cope, we feel hopeless to
change and feel suicidal.

It is important to recognize that pain is an inevitable part of life, everyone deals with pain
to a certain extent. There can be moments of loss of hope, frustration, fear, past regrets
etc. When there is heart break, don’t try to break your ties with life. Escaping the
everyday pain and suffering associated with life is impossible. So if you are suicidal,
either find a way to reduce the amount of pain you are experiencing and increase your
coping resources.

CHAPTER 5
 DISAPPOINTMENT,
EMPTINESS AND SELF-BLAME
LED TO SUICIDE

SPIRITUAL EMPTINESS.I am not hurt at this moment. I am not sad. I am just empty.
Unconcerned about myself. That's pathetic. And that's why I am doing this.People may
dub me as a coward. And selfish, or stupid once I am gone. I am not bothered about
what I am called.

EXPERIENCE OF SEVERE DISAPPOINTMENT.When you set your own standards,

and if your circumstances fall far below those expectations, disappointment can set in. If
you’re not careful, that sever disappointment can begin to fuel suicidal thoughts in you.
If you keep fostering such thoughts, and no one comes across to challenge your views,
you might gradually succumb to suicide.You may become entirely obsessed with your
own inability to measure up to the standards that you have set up. You tend to turn
inward, and shut out those around you. Hence when you face the pressure to commit
suicide, your battle will not be against the those who hurt you but against your
perceptions of yourself.

You may experience negative emotions related to your disappointment. Severe

depression sets in. We use others’ standards to compare ourselves, and we experience
deep anxiety when we fail to meet those expectations. This can translate into suicidal
thoughts.Rohithhad frustration from the inability to match his own aspirations. He wrote,
I always wanted to be a writer. A writer of science, like Carl Sagan. At last, this is the
only letter I am getting to write.

BLAMING YOURSELF FOR ALL YOUR FAILURE AND DISAPPOINTMENT AND

MAKE YOURSELF A MONSTER AGAINST YOURSELF. You will silently end up in
blaming yourself for all the disappointment in your life. As a result of your miserable
circumstances, you will begin to “demonize” yourself, heaping the blame on your own
shoulders. Rohith felt a growing gap between his soul and body. made him feel he
had become a monster. He immediately goes on to say where his soul lay — in
becoming a writer of science, like Carl Sagan. But his body got entangled in
politics, a politics that reduced him to his body, dismissing his soul. The science
of politics, a science that tears the soul apart from the body, was not for him.
He wrote, I have no complaints on anyone. It was always with myself I had problems.

HIMSELF ONLY RESPONSIBLE… BUT HAD ENEMIES.No one is responsible for my

this act of killing myself. No one has instigated me, whether by their acts or by their
words to this act. This is my decision and I am the only one responsible for this. Do not
trouble my friends and enemies on this after I am gone.

SELF-BLAME LEADS TO SELF-HATRED, WHICH IN TURN LEADS TO VIOLENCE

AGAINST SELF.Blaming oneself for all the bad things in life develops a deep hate for
oneself characterized by low self-esteem and self-worth. Thus Self-blame leads to
suicide.

WHEN A DALIT VIEWS HIS BIRTH THROUGH THE COLORED GLASSES OF

OPPRESSIVE CASTE, BIRTH BECOMES A FATAL ACCIDENT. Rohith wrote, All the
while, some people, for them, life itself is curse. My birth is my fatal accident. It is tragic
to view birth as a fatal accident. Here the beauty of birth and life becomes a curse.
Death overshadows birth. Value of life is rejected. And the tragedy of suicide rides in.
Caste thus becomes the most sinful working system, defended and attacked with more
or less equal force.

The limitations of birth should not stop anyone. The scope is unlimited. Many such
people have come to the top. All are under certain limitations and are in search of the
truth at various levels. Devil is the enemy of mankind and God is the truth. Even many
Brahmins and Muslims are finding Jesus these days … just search the internet.

SUICIDAL THOUGHTS HAVE MANY CAUSES. Most often, suicidal thoughts are the
result of the feeling that you can't cope when you're faced with what seems to be an
overwhelming life situation. If you don't have hope for the future, you may mistakenly
think suicide is a solution. People are most driven to suicide when they view their
current situation as being completely hopeless and feel as if they have no way to
change things for the better.

GRADUALLY IDEAS MATERIALIZE INTO ACTION. One does not simply decide to
commit suicide, all of a sudden. Rather one is led to that decision gradually by a series
of prior events and decisions. Thus suicide takes birth from ideas to action.

CHAPTER 6

PRESSURED BY THE
LOVE FOR HIS FAMILY

PLEASE SETTLE HIS ACCOUNTS. If you, who is reading this letter can do anything
for me, I have to get seven months of my fellowship, one lakh and seventy five
thousand rupees. Please see to it that my family is paid that. I have to give some 40
thousand to Ramji. He never asked them back. But please pay that to him from that.

HE HAD AN URGE TO HELP HIS FAMILY BECAUSE OF THE LOVE AND CARE
FOR FAMILY. I quote - Rohith was close to them, and began helping out his family
financially from the day he was awarded a UGC junior research fellowship (JRF). “He
would get around Rs 28,000 a month, of which he sent back at least Rs20,000 to his
mother,” says Sunkanna.“When this money stopped seven months ago (the university
blamed paperwork), he would borrow money to send it home,” Ramji adds.THIS WAS
REALLY A TROUBLE FOR HIM.

Again what Rohith felt for his home and family was evident from the photographs he
posted of his house in Guntur on the Internet. In one of them, titled ‘sewing machine’, he
wrote, “This was the main bread-earner for our home before I started getting JRF…..
This is my mom’s favorite occupation…. she used to say “machine” can make women
powerful….” For a photograph of a uniform hung on a clothesline, he wrote, “Dad’s
uniform, security guard in a hospital….”

CHAPTER 7

FORCED SUICIDE IS
WORSE THAN MURDER

Making a person depressed to the extent of committing suicide is murder. It was a

socially collectively induced mentality into Rohith. Depression was injected into him like
poison and he died. It is a peculiar kind of murder. He was put into a situation where he
felt death is better than life.

His worldview was forcefully colored that way by controlling life circumstances of life,
whereby he voluntarily took the most dangerous decision and act to himself, and
making himself responsible for everything.

SUICIDE IS THE PROOFOF SOCIAL ILLNESS. Suicide is a symptom of an uncaring

society. The person killing himself is the victim of conditions which we cannot tolerate
which overwhelm him. R. Budd Dwyer was an American politician. Serving the state of
Pennsylvania from 1971 to 1987, as senator and treasurer. In 1986, Dwyer was caught
receiving a bribe. He maintained his innocence, insisting it was a setup. Facing 55 years
in prison, he called a press conference the day before his sentencing. He opened his
mouth, inserted the gun and pulled the trigger. News cameras caught it all and the feed
went out live. Later, William T. Smith admitted to lying under oath about Dwyer taking a
bribe.

CHAPTER 8

SOCIO-POLITICAL IDENTITY OF
ROHITH – A SINCERE AMBEDKARITE DISILLUSIONED WITH
COMMUNIST MOVEMENT
ROHITH WAS ASA ACTIVIST – HE STOOD FOR DALITS – THAT IS ENOUGH
IDENTITY. His ideological identity with the dalit movement gives sufficient clues to his
entire identity. Even if he belongs to any other caste, since he is identified with the dalit
movement, any action against him is an action against all dalits and dalit movement.
Hence there id no point in trying project Rohith as a non-dalit.

Rohith in his suicide note wrote - To ASA family, sorry for disappointing all of you. You
loved me very much. I wish all the very best for the future.For one last time,Jai Bheem.

He found solace in the teachings of Ambedkar. Communists might not have dealt with
caste issue at the campus. But perhaps with Ambedkarite ideology things might have
started to make sense for Rohith.

It seems RohithVemula was once a supporter of the Communist Party of India (Marxist),
that before he joined the Ambedkar Students’ Association (ASA) at the University of
Hyderabad, he was a leader of the Students’ Federation of India (SFI), affiliated to the
CPI(M). Might be he was disillusioned with the communists who had given up faith
in god but could not abandon their faith in the caste system.

CHAPTER 9

THE IDEOLOGICAL POVERTY OF

THE ATHEISTIC COMMUNISM AND AMBEDKARISM STAND EXPOSED

HE KNEW ABOUT SOUL AND BODY ONLY…HE DID NOT KNOW ABOUT SPIRIT –
TRAGEDY OF AMBEDKARISM. I feel a growing gap between my soul and my body.
And I have become a monster.

Rohith was associated with both the communist and Ambedkarite movements, though
not simultaneously. Both the movements could not save his life. His suicide proves the
failure of the entire state and social system as well as the political movements with
which he was associated.

Both the movements are equally blind on the truths regarding the existence of God,
spirit of man, life after death, hell, heaven etc. They have no sure doctrines about the
human values and ethics. They do not have valid doctrines on the value of man, his
soul etc. See what Rohith said about life, death and soul in his suicide note.

It seems RohithVemula was once a supporter of the Communist Party of India (Marxist),
that before he joined the Ambedkar Students’ Association (ASA) at the University of
Hyderabad, he was a leader of the Students’ Federation of India (SFI), affiliated to the
CPI(M). Might be he was disillusioned with the communists who had given up faith
in god but could not abandon their faith in the caste system. May be he was
discriminated for his caste. He seems to have raised the issue as to why the
CPI(M) hasn’t had a single Dalit politburo member in 51 years. He felt that the
Leftists were willing to attack Hindutva fanatics but never challenged the Vedic
caste system which forms the bedrock of Hindutva ideology. Persons like Rohith
might think that the overwhelming majority of the Indian Left’s leadership
comprises the upper caste individuals who grew up in privileged social
conditions. Hence they have no idea or experience of caste oppression. Hence
the dalits might see only a thin artificial distinction between the communists and
BJP. Many dalits also talk about the historic injustice done to Dalits by the Indian Left
when they opposed Ambedkar’s call for separate electorates for the “depressed
Classes”. Many have criticized Ambedkar by accusing him of dividing the nation on the
lines of caste. But dalits feel that Ambedkar was trying to protect them from an
already divided society and not divide society further. Ambedkar felt that caste
system is not just the division of labour but also the division of laborers.

LOSING FOCUS IN PROTESTS.Rohith was well within his rights to protest against
anything. But the exercise of such rights comes with a price. If it were not for the one
particular protest he would have been alright. Wisdom helps us to make right choices.

UNWILLINGNESS TO THINK MORE MEANINGFUL ISSUES.You over-simplify your

life into easy-to-understand thoughts. This is an “escape from meaningful thought”. You
engage yourself with anything except thinking about meaningful issues of life. You avoid
thinking about what will happen to you after suicide, or this will affect your loved ones.
Thus the person finally accepts suicide as best escape from depression.

CHAPTER 10

UNFINISHED IDEOLOGICAL FOUNDATIONS OF AMBEDKARISM

AND DALIT MOVEMENT

Ambedkarism is merely a social ideology and movement social justice for dalits. It is not
a wholesome world view like Christianity. So what happens to followers of Ambedkar is
that they fail to understand the spiritual worth of the individual and feel emptiness like
Rohith and may commit suicide.

Ambekarism is not a systematic ideology or belief system able to guide the whole life of
an individual. It cannot guide all aspects of life. Hence those students who take it as
their religion will be deceived. It is merely an ideological exposition for social movement.
It is merely a revolutionary response to the evils of caste system in India. It has thus
only limited value and application. If you consider it is a wholesome solution, you will be
victimized, frustrated like Rohith. Hence it should be supplemented with Christian faith,
rather than Buddhism which is a Godless religion.

CHAPTER 11

BATTLE OVER HIS IDENTITY – THE GHOST OF CASTE CLINGS TO EVEN AFTER
DEATH – HE WAS BOTH BC AND SC

ROHITH VEMULA WAS A DALIT,SAYS SC/ST PANEL CHIEF PUNIA. Refuting

claims of external affairs minister SushmaSwaraj, SC/ST commission chairman PL
Punia said that Hyderabad scholar RohithVemula who committed suicide early this
month was a Dalit. Talking to reporters here, Punia said: "He was a member of the
Scheduled Caste. Some people are only trying to water down the issue. Rohith and his
siblings were brought up by a single mother, so how can any law determine his caste by
that of his father who had left the family years ago?" he asked. Punia, who visited
Hyerabad Central University a day after Rohith committed suicide, said: "I met the
university officials and his friends, including those who were suspended from the hostel,
and I believe Rohith was a Dalit."Punia also claimed that Rohith's mother was a Dalit
and so are his other siblings and they have certificates to establish their claims. Even if
Rohith was from the OBC, should he have been forced to commit suicide?

ROHITH’S FATHER CLAIMED HE WAS BC. SO ROHITH WAS BOTH SC AND BC –

SO IF AT ALL A BATTLE AGAINST ROHITH IT IS AGAINST BOTH BC AND SC
BECAUSE ROHITH WAS BOTH BC AND SC AS HIS MOTHER WAS SC AND
FATHER BC. ManikumarVemula, father of PhD scholar RohithVemula, had claimd that
his son hailed from the backward Vaddera community. "My son was not a Scheduled
Caste person. We hail from the Vaddera community of backward classes," he said
wondering how his estranged wife Radhika was claiming SC status.

CHAPTER 12

INADEQUATE WORLD VIEWS

May be I was wrong, all the while, in understanding world. In understanding love, pain,
life, death.There was no urgency. But I always was rushing. Desperate to start a life.

I don't believe in after-death stories, ghosts, or spirits. If there is anything at all I believe,
I believe that I can travel to the stars. And know about the other worlds.

Rohith leaves his own idea of man: A “glorious thing made up of star dust.Even in
death he believed he can “travel to the stars”. But how did he feel on earth? The quoted
phrase, “From shadows to the stars”, gives an impression.

WRONG VIEW OF LIFE SUCH AS - SUICIDE GIVES YOU A BETTER LIFE –

THEY DON’T KNOW THEY SOON FALL IN TO HELL FIRE. Even if you don’t
believe, you will sink into water, you will sink into water, once you fall into water.

IF LIFE IS MEANINGLESS.Thirty-five-year-old Mitchell Heisman shot himself on the

steps of Memorial Church on the Harvard University campus, where hundreds were
gathered to observe Yom Kippur. He left behind "Suicide Note," a 1,904 page missive
that he spent five years researching and writing. "Suicide Note" touches on historical,
religious, and nihilistic themes. Heisman appeared to have taken his life as part of a

THREE PHILOSOPHICAL ERRORS OF ROHITH: RATIONALISM, SUBJECTIVISM

AND RELATIVISM – EXPOSED AND DISPROVED

ROHITH FAILED TO KNOW THAT TRUTH IS OBJECTIVE AND IS DIFFERENT

FROM OUR SUBJECTIVE PERCEPTIONS OF REALITY. He wrote, Our feelings are
second handed. Our love is constructed. Our beliefs colored. Our originality valid
through artificial art. It has become truly difficult to love without getting hurt… The value
of a man was reduced to his immediate identity and nearest possibility. To a vote.To a
number.To a thing. Never was a man treated as a mind. As a glorious thing made up of
stardust.In very field, in studies, in streets, in politics, and in dying and living.

From the subjective perceptions of reality we might have, we should always try to move
towards the objective truth of God.
 SCIENTISM IS THE CHILD OF RATIONALISM

THE “SCIENTIFIC METHOD” IS THE CHILD OF RATIONALISM WHICH IS AN

IRRATIONAL IDEOLOGY. With the help of rationalism man devised the so-called
“scientific method” of investigation. With the advent of the Enlightenment, the
“SCIENTIFIC METHOD” WHICH IS SOLELY BASED ON RATIONALITY became the
new foundation of truth, replacing God. Man became the measure of all things. The
over-emphasis on the rationality of man led to the “scientific method” of materialist
positivism which DELIMITED THE REALITY OF TRUTH TO THAT WHICH CAN BE
TESTED AND VERIFIED WITH EMPIRICAL EVIDENCE. If the instant verifiability and
visibility were the criteria of truth, then even the most fundamental principles of material
science like gravity, electrons, momentum, inertial mass, etc. would also become unreal
to many.

The over-emphasis on the rationality of the individual led to the “scientific method” of
materialist positivism which delimited the reality of truth to only that which can be tested
and verified. This ‘scientific method’ which is basically anti-supernaturalistic,
acknowledges as valid only the facts which can be verified by empirical evidence.
Rationalism became the foundational principle of the philosophy of modern science.
Rationalism falsely advocates that man should legitimately believe only on those things
and theories provable by human reason. Rationalists falsely concluded that that which
cannot be analyzed according to the practical reason cannot exist and hence should be
left aside as unreal. They tried to constrain truth to their capacity to apprehend. Thus
reason was used to delimit and control reality. The falsity of rationalism lies in the fact
that the rationalists themselves cannot prove that, that which is not rationally provable is
untrue.
RATIONALISM IS WRONG AND INDEFENSIBLE
In the ultimate analysis rationalism is irrational.Rationalism is a false intellectual
mentality widespread among the people, these days. IN RATIONALISM THE HUMAN
REASON (INTELLIGENCE) BECOMES THE ULTIMATE SOURCE OF KNOWLEDGE.
The autonomy of the individual and the absolute authority of his reason are affirmed.
Rationalism falsely assumes that, that which cannot be empirically explained is not true.
Through the attempts to fit the supernatural realities into man-made categories of
analysis, the human reason became unreasonable and the wisdom of man became
foolishness even unto himself.

Rationalism advocates that man can legitimately believe only on those things and
theories provable by human reason. Rationalism is the foundational principle of the
philosophy of modern science or scientism. Scientism concludes that the cosmos was
created as a result of a blind chance, not created by God. Thus rationalism finally led
man to conclusions which cannot be reasonable. But rationalism used science as the
proof for validity of their assumptions.
Rationalism is the belief that truth can be attained only by the exercise of reason. What
is rationally knowable is true. That which is not rationally knowable is not true. (1cor 2:8;
get established in truth – stand at top of building then see more). 1. The thinkability of
something does not make it actual. Eg, golden mountain. 2. According to rationalistic
theism the existence of God can be proved with logical necessity. But there is no logical
necessity to prove the existence of anything including God (Geisler, pp. 42-43). Eg. If a
triangle exists it must have 3 sides. But it is not logically necessary that a triangle must
exist. 3. Rationalism does not have a rational basis. It cannot rationally demonstrate its
first principles. 4. Rationalism falsely presupposes that everything that we know by faith
should also be rationally understandable and explicable. It falsely deifies human reason.
Rationalism denies the truths of faith unprovable by reason. 6. Rationalists are anti-
supernaturalists. The ‘christian’ rationalists often deny all the supernatural elements of
the Bible. They deny the existence of devil, sin, miracles, etc. Moreover they rob the
meaning of the Bible passages by giving naturalistic explanations to the supernatural
phenomenon. (Egs crossing of Red sea; the fall of the wall of Jericho; Coin and Peter’s
fish).First 11 chapters of Genesis, See Heb 11. 7. (Bible instructs us to give up false
knowledge - Read 1Tim 6:20). 8. Ultimately rationalism can lead one to atheism,
mysticism etc. 9. The rationalism makes the person proud, not humble and wise.

APPLICATION OF RATIONALISM TO SOCIETY LED TO THE DEADLY

SECULARISATION BY THE ELIMINATION OF GOD, VALUES AND ETHICS

In the innermost circle of modernity is the false assumption that ONLY THAT WHICH IS
VERIFIABLE THROUGH THE ‘SCIENTIFIC METHOD’ IS REAL AND TRUE. Thus
modernity devised a method of investigation by the application of which man will easily
filter out the supernatural reality. Thus, to them, the truth of God becomes unreal as
it is not empirically verifiable. The so-called scientific method of modernity is not only
highly REDUCTIONISTIC BUT ALSO A SUBTLE ELIMINATOR OF TRUTH. Hence
over-emphasis on the rationality of the individual led to the scientific method of
materialist positivism which delimited the reality of truth to that which can be
tested and verified. Thus in the secular materialistic culture God, Satan and demons
are unmentionables. Even when the evil rages in the society like a roaring lion, the
contemporary academic culture makes its existence intellectually indefensible.
Modern materialistic culture with the help of modern science has systematically got rid
of all the methodological devices to deal with the supernatural and
transcendental realities, and thus excluded God from the sphere of reality and
banished Him into the realm of myths. INDIVIDUAL has replaced God as the foundation
of truth. REASON becomes the source of knowledge, not God. TECHNOLOGY has
garnered unquestionable allegiance from all corners. It has acquired a religious appeal
and rendered sanctity, legitimacy and acceptability to the so-called developments it
offered.
RENAISSANCE made man the measure of all things. ENLIGHTENMENT deified his
reason and excluded God from the realm of rational discourse. Modernity and
rationalism are ANTI-INTELLECTUAL AS IT EXCLUDES GOD FROM THE SPHERE
OF RATIONAL DISCOURSE. Modernity gave rise to ideologies and belief systems
which promised better future through the application of reason. It developed different
approaches to truth. EMPIRICIST approached truth from sense experiences only.
NIHILIST proclaimed the meaninglessness and emptiness of life, rejected God as an
unviable entity and made man himself as god. EXISTENTIALISM encouraged man to
live with a passion for the now. Various belief systems have lubricated the journey
towards the evolution of this present mentality.
RATIONALISM becomes evil when it is used to justify the unjustifiable. Satan is the
prince of all rationalizations. They falsely concluded that that which cannot be
analyzed according to the practical reason cannot exist. Thus God was rationalized
out of existence by the modern man. The scientific achievements of man could only
succeed in convincing that there is no God or at least God has no part in the creation.
Such a conclusion was not a natural result of science but the outcome of the moral
choice of man through which the inherent evil in man was exposed. He celebrated the
death of God and buried God in his ultimate silly notions of hypocritical ideologies and
academic values. The deification of reason (making human reason or intelligence itself
as the ultimate authority or God) has only served the purpose of finally devising and
legitimizing a universal culture of eroticism, irrationality and violence.
Such rationalistic scientism has the unproven and unprovable premise that no
reality exist beyond the world of time, space and matter. Absolute dependence on
the rationality of man for the attainment of knowledge ignores the fact of sin and its
corrupting influence on his power of reasoning. Rationalism fails to appreciate the fact
that it is ABSURD TO DEFINE ABSOLUTE REALITY IN TERMS OF THE RELATIVE
WORLD. Thus scientific rationalism is subtle and highly reductionistic that through its
rationalizations it attempts to hide from man the deep realms of reality and the
totality of truth from man. In this manner rationalism falsely denies the reality of things
which pertain to the spirit world. Rationalism has led to the idolatry of reason which in
turn resulted in the FOOLISH ACADEMIC ARROGANCE AND PETTINESS OF
MODERN MAN.
Man cannot know truth of god with human knowledge. The application of the
“SCIENTIFIC METHOD” in academics led to the secularization of education,
whereby people were systematically re-educated on values through universities and
schools. All possible REFERENCES TO GOD WERE REMOVED from the curriculum.
This imprisoned the people in a vicious circle: “Ever learning and never able to come to
the knowledge of the truth” (2Tim 3:7; 4:3). Knowledge puffs up, but love builds up
(1Cor 8:1). "You do err not knowing the Scriptures, nor the power of God" (Mt 22:29).
MAN ACTING AS GOD, REPLACED GOD
Modernity sidelined the issues of faith and constructed its own authorities. Modernity
shifted the focus of man’s life from heaven to earth, from revelation to reason, from
salvation to progress, and from hope in the future to hope in the present. Human reason
was falsely accepted as the foundation of knowledge and truth. REASON usurped the
role of God. Man became the measure of all things. Rationalism became fashionable
and prestigious in academic circles. The idolatry of reason resulted in a kind of foolish
academic arrogance of modern times.
Modernity undercut dependence on God by fostering man’s self-confidence and
self-dependence. It keeps man satisfied with materialistic pleasures and privatized
subjective spiritual experiences which are counterfeits of the truth. Modernity sidelined
the issues of faith by transferring it from the traditional authority to the power of
reason. Modernity constructs its own authorities and identities. It claims to have
deeper and greater truth than Christian faith. Hence it rejected the authority and
inerrancy of Scriptures. But they cannot be right because no man has enough
knowledge to doubt the truthfulness of the Bible. Modernity is the deadliest persecutor
of Church in history. Now church is warring against her own worldliness.

THE EMPTINESS CREATED BY SECULARIZATION IS FILLED WITH DEMONIC

FALSE SPIRITUALIES
Contemporary man’s disillusionment and confusion are the HANDIWORK OF THE
DEVIL who is the ruler of this world. He promotes views like 'there is no God', 'god is
dead', etc. He encourages people to escape from the world instead of seeking God.
Thus people become victims of drugs, alcohol and sexual promiscuity to fill the void
in their life, without realizing that only Jesus can fill the God-created vacuum in
man.
Secularism kills shame. It is like the removal of immune system. The problem is with
the immune system, not with the virus as such. Shame is an insulation to soul. There is
no a gradual erosion of shame. Adam had shame. But when Cain sinned he had no
shame. He was rather aggressive. Fallen man needs shame to sin before God or else
he will degrade further.
Modern man is a victim of ruthless secularization and the consequent elimination of
norms and values from the social life. Materialism, the culture of secularism, and the
elimination of spirituality have created a deep spiritual vacuum and emptiness in
modern man. They together have produced a generation without goal, meaning, shame
and decency. Man is liberated from values, and inhibitions. Consequently crime,
divorce, single parent children, teen-age suicide, abortion etc, have multiplied
geometrically.

The modern secular education has succeeded in promoting agnosticism (“cannot know”
mentality) and skepticism (“don’t know” mentality), and has accomplished the
destruction of the sense of right and wrong. Modernity’s man-centered (humanistic) and
materialistic search for knowledge has led to uncertainty, moral and spiritual
indifference, relativism and the consequent despair and confusion. Man lost the hope of
attaining any certainty in knowledge. Thus there arose a generation which does not
know what they should believe or what they should not believe. They do not have
anything to defend. But they are willing to rebel against anything. Originality is prized
above the truth to such an extent that the latest is considered as truer and best.

Secularization has enabled man to commit any crime without any prick of conscience or
any sense of guilt. There is an all-round sense of despair, alienation and aloneness.
Thus in spite of all the evil practices and ideas, the prevalent attitude in the society is to
be tolerant to all things, be open, be value-free, be non-judgmental, and ‘just do it’.
Modern academic methodology expects us to be value-free in our analyses and studies
if it is to be “objective”. They have the false presupposition that only value-free
statements can be objective.

Hence God, ethics, morality and values are rejected as lacking objectivity. Thus man
has become biased against the truth in God. Aggressive sex education program without
suggesting any moral code resulted in further sexual immorality. There are even death
education classes to desensitize people to dying and view life materialistically. There is
report that there are stores which sell necklaces of human teeth, bone beads, human
skulls etc.

Human depravity has reached shocking levels. How long can we expect this
civilization to last. How long can God forgive this unrepentant generation? Sodom and
Gomorra would be ashamed. But judgment from the same God is inevitable. (2Tim 3:1-
5)
Universities are the experimenting ground and carriers secularization. The modern
secular university education has succeeded in producing agnostics and skeptics, and
promoting skepticism. They have the false presupposition that only value-free
statements can be objective. Even belief in God is considered as prejudice, and hence
words of believers are rejected as lacking in credibility.
The secularization process has created a spiritual vacuum and emptiness in modern
man. Anti-Christian secularism and a value neutral morality are deeply penetrating into
the society and family through various ways and means. Secularization has produced a
generation without goal, meaning, shame and decency. There is an all-round sense of
meaninglessness, despair, alienation, and aloneness. His over-indulgence has led to
emptiness. He is filling the internal vacuum with false belief systems and self-
realization techniques, drugs, and other types of perverted spiritual experiences and
ecstasies, mysticism, rock music, pleasures, consciousness and environment
protection movement etc.
The New Age attempts to compensate the bankruptcy of the secular man with
spirituality of the Pantheistic Eastern mysticism. They manufacture new varieties of
spiritualities to suit their interest. At last he develops a god-complex and considers
himself as god and behaves like a petty god. Thus the defeats of morality and values
have led to spiritual perversions. The religious and spiritual vacuum created by the
secularization process is being filled by various pseudo-spiritual therapeutic
movements.

MODERNITY PROMOTES EVIL MAN MADE VALUES AND WORLD VIEWS

They spurn out ideologies and world views which will eventually divide the people and
fight each other and waste all their energies. All ideologies have the tendency to
become idolatrous and despotic. False ideologies keep the people falsely satisfied to
keep them ignorant about the truth in Jesus. Man is kept totally indifferent to the reality
and tries to create artificial bliss. He is slowly being destroyed like a frog which is heated
to death without knowing what indeed is happening to it. It gave rise to the false notion
that progress is inevitable. They want all to take it for granted that everything is
happening for the better. Any concept which cast doubt on man’s capacity for
unhindered progress like original sin was discarded.

KINGDOM OF MODERNITY AS THE ALTERNATIVE TO THE KINGDOM OF GOD

This attempt of man to be God, evade God, has ended in biggest evil. The global
culture and kingdom of modernity is the great alternative to the kingdom of God.
Modernity enslaved all through its all-embracing imperial systems and ideologies. It
provided man sufficient opportunity for creativity and ideological options to keep himself
busy and satisfied with the material world, to evade him from Christ. Modernity created
new idols for man. Idolatry is the clearest expression of man’s depravity, lostness
and fallenness. By idolatry man steals the glory of God and gives it to something else.
Modernity supports capitalism which supports military-industrial complex which supports
global tension. Nothing which interferes with the unique profit making motive is
tolerated. The contributions of modernity include large-scale economic production, more
information about the material universe, improved public health, education etc.
Modernity’s progress widened the possibility for man’s responsible use of his freewill for
his good or bad. But every positive aspect of modernity was upset and degenerated by
the misuse of man’s freewill. Thus there arose rampant individualism, economic
inequalities and exploitation, consumerism (assumption that happiness consists in the
maximum acquisition of material goods), poverty, large-scale production of weapons,
pornography, moral permissiveness, sexual deviance, moral relativism, official graft,
war, etc.
Modernity considers reason and knowledge as instruments of domination. Culture of
specialization and expertise is against the culture of Christian faith. Artificially created
expertise of some makes non-experts dependent on the experts. This leads to
domination, hegemony and oppressive systems. Thus the culture of modernity is a
handicap to all except the privileged. Hence we need to be apprehensive about the
sadistic culture of modernity. Free market is promoted as the most ideal and viable
system. The ideology of social Darwinism or survival of the fittest is used to justify
industrial capitalism.
People consider religions, ideologies, political systems and economic systems as their
saviors and render unqualified loyalty to them. They have a tendency to become
idolatrous. Their faith is in their job, family, connections, not in God. He has idolized
choice, change, privacy etc. Modernity has caused the greatest identity crisis for
individual and family. Modernity creates problems deeper and wider than drugs, crime,
aids etc. It has undermined the authority of the basic values and faith in the society.
Modernity can in a sense be understood as the humankind’s most subtle, decisive and
apocalyptically oriented attempt for systematic and complete global domination. It
is mankind’s most calculated, emphatic, arrogant, pitiable and most comprehensive
effort in history, to be like God. But because of the fallen nature of man this effort of
man will manifest in its fullness the utter wickedness of human heart in the falsehood,
merciless deception and violence that man will employ in order to attain his own
caricatured imaginations of godhood.
MODERNITY INTRODUCED REDUCTIONISTIC
METHODOLOGIES IN ACADEMICS

spiritual hunger. Consequently people are dangerously prepared to go after anything
that has an appearance of spirituality.
Logical positivism: It demands that every meaningful statement must be empirically
verifiable. But the stamen that unverifiable statements are meaningless, itself is an
unverifiable statement.
Knowledge industry of universities and media promote skepticism, humanism,
pluralism. They idolize the promiscuity of choice to promote the ideology of
consumerism to perpetuate their business interests. The notion of progress in history
was recognized as the unquestionable law. Everything that interfered with it, even God,
was abandoned as invalid.
To discern the weakness of a culture one has to just identify the unmentionables of the
culture. In the secular materialistic culture God, Satan and demons are
unmentionables. Alienation from God gives the culture of modernity and PM a
weightlessness. Because the glory of God has departed from them.Linguistic
analysisdoes not even attempt to deal with big issues. Its scope is limited to the
definition of language. Theatre, modern art, music, movies, literature etc. try to make
the truth more evasive and undefinable.

SCIENCE WAS HIJACKED BY THE

GODLESS RELIGION OF MODERNITY
AND SCIENTISM

We should be careful about the OPPOSITIONS OF SCIENCE FALSELY SO CALLED

(1Tim 6:20).The most basic but unproved assumption of science is that event (effect)
can be explained by its previous event (cause). This is the belief of the religion called
science. If everything can be explained by natural laws, then God is not needed. If
everything can be explained by some higher law, then the law is superior to God. SOME
VICTIMS OF THIS IDEA OF HIGHER LAW BECOME ATHEISTS; SOME BECOME
SORCERERS. In the pure scientific outlook God ceases to be God. GOD AND
MIRACLES ARE NOT INCLUDED IN THE FRAMEWORK OF NATURAL SCIENCE.
The fact that the basic assumption of science is atheistic does not require that every
scientist be atheistic.

But that is not true. GOD THE CREATOR EXISTS apart from his creation the nature.
He is NOT SUBJECT to the laws of nature. He is the CREATOR OF BOTH THE
NATURE AND THE LAWS of nature. Hence he is NOT AGAINST the laws of nature.
But he is ABOVE THE LAWS of nature, not subject to it. The creation is expected to
have a dependent relationship with the creator. In the absence of this dynamic
dependent relationship caused by the WILLFUL REBELLION from the part of the
creation, the nature as a whole is now subject to a DEATH PROCESS. God has a
REDEMPTIVE PLAN for his creation from this death process. He accomplished this
plan through Jesus Christ.

Science influenced by the spirit of antichrist. Science is NO MORE VALUE FREE. It is

GUIDED BY UNSEEN SPIRITUAL FORCES. Culture is the output of the
IMAGINATION of man’s mind, subject to the influence of ideologies affected by
SPIRITUAL FORCES. The Edenic world is basically altered and modified by man.
Progress in this line will serve the devil to fulfill the Edenic promise and to receive the
WORSHIP OF MAN. Science plays the major role in accomplishing this. Hence it might
not be wrong to assume that SCIENCE IS ORIENTED IN CERTAIN PARTICULAR
WAYS DIRECTED BY DEVIL. We see the law and logic of God in the created material
world. In science by the legitimate use of his mind man discovers the logic of God, and
adds his own logic to it and makes technology. The logic of man was heavily influenced
by the logic of devil. The route of culture and science is determined by the end in view.
And end in view is the rule of antichrist. Hence IT WOULD HAVE BEEN POSSIBLE
FOR SCIENCE AND CULTURE TO TAKE MANY OTHER DIRECTIONS. This is also
made clear from the different orientations of different cultures in the world. Thus science
is not wholly trustworthy.

In the new earth will the technology of this age continue or will there be a new
technology? Yes everything shall be new in the new earth.

BEWARE OF MODERNITY: IT IS AN
ANTIGOD RELIGION TO ELIMINATE BIBLICAL FAITH

But modern science has more unreasonable faith in man and his reason than in
god. Modern science presupposes that man can understand the nature and control it.
Thus modern science partially borrows from the biblical view that the one true God not
only created the cosmos but also made man in His own image with the ability to
understand and control the nature. Modern science over-emphasizes the capacity of
man and totally ignores the role of God. Every scientist has an unwavering and blind
faith in the uniformity and predictability of the laws of nature. Ironically he invests a
greater amount of faith to believe in uniformity of the universe than the faith that is
required to believe in God as the creator of the universe.
Related to this is the concept that even the scientific knowledge is not rational and
hence not absolutely objective. Because the choice or preference of the scientist on
what to observe and the subsequent proposals of assumptions and theories about the
basic principles are molded by the promptings or assurance of his faith which is
something deeper, subtler and more subjective than his reason. Here the biblical
principle that faith leads to belief and belief leads to understanding works out. Thus
when we analyze at the deeper levels, it is clear that the so-called objective scientific
and technological realities developed by man are the result of a very complex and
subjective spiritual and intellectual mechanism individual human beings, not just
‘objective reason’.
ATTEMPT TO RULE EARTH THROUGH SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY
Humanity devised two defense mechanisms not only to hide the fact of the fall of Eve
and Adam which was the greatest tragedy of human kind but also offset the results of
the fall such as sin and the loss of innocence and the ruler-ship of earth. Even though
man denies fall and sin, he is confronted by the need to offset the loss of innocence and
the ruler-ship of earth. Thus man attempts to make himself holy through religion and
attempts to recover the ruler-ship of the earth through science and technology.
TRUE SCIENCE IS NOT AGAINT BIBLE AND GOD, AND BIBLE IS NOT AGAINST
SCIENCE
What makes the cosmos, a cosmos rather than a chaos is the fact that its inherent
energy is governed by inherent laws discoverable by man. This shows that there is a
co-relation between the pattern of intelligence behind the rationality of man and the
internal laws of the cosmos. These laws are made by God.
FAITH IS THE OPPOSITE OF RATIONALISM

Faith in the Word of God (Christ) is the correct method of acquiring true knowledge of
the truth in Christ. Hence we must depend on the biblical method of faith, not the
scientific method. Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things
not seen (Heb 11:1). ...Keep that which is committed to thy trust, avoiding profane and
vain babblings, and oppositions of science falsely so called: Which some professing
have erred concerning the faith..(1Tim 6:20-21).

POST-MODERNITY IS THE
LEGAL HEIR OF MODERNITY

Under the cover of the ideological smokescreen of liberty, equality and fraternity,
modernity helped some to quietly accomplish global domination. The cruelties, wars,
nuclear threat, poverty, exploitation etc spoiled the optimism in the capacity of scientific
progress to meet all that man wants. Hence the postmodernists feel that for human
liberation the project of modernity must be eliminated. In its reaction to modernity, post
modernity has resorted to SENSELESS PLURALISM, TOLERANCE, AND
SUBJECTIVISM LEADING TO A STAGE WHERE NO MEANIGFUL JUDGEMENT,
ETHICS AND VALUES ARE POSSIBLE.

There is large scale intellectual drugging and distortion of meaning. Here is a

penetrating analysis of the evolving social, philosophical, religious, political and
economic thinking of modern man. It is an attempt to discern the character and spirit
of this age. Modern man seems to have abolished the true God from all possible
spheres of his life, and lost the anchor of his life, placing himself in utter confusion.
THE GENERAL TENDENCIES OF POSTMODERNITY

The general tendencies of postmodernity include subjectivity, rejection of rigid

distinctions, emphasis on the local, personal and specific truth and rejection of absolute
truths, rejection of "grand narratives" which explain reality, such as capitalism or
communism. These grand narratives are thought to old and simplistic which are
understood as unable to adequately explain the world's complexity; practicality,
inclusiveness or tolerance, diversity of morals and lifestyle, tendency to perceive
information that does not fit their worldview as "noise", tendency to see absolute truth
and Christian faith as the major enemy; desire for spirituality without rigid truth and
desire for community without specified values and morality. Post modernity is an
umbrella term used to refer to the character of a host of contemporary trends, ideas,
ideologies and movements. It admits no universals.

COMPARE AND CONTRAST

OF MODERNITY AND POST-MODERNITY

Modernity is for unity and certainty, post-modernity is for fragmentation and

uncertainty (relativism). Post modernity challenged modernity’s false presupposition
of the value-free or neutrality of knowledge and correctly contended that every theory of
knowledge is based on certain presuppositions. Modernism is replaced with
postmodernism. Modernism valued and respected truth. But its view of truth differed
from that of Christianity. On the other hand postmodernism is a worldview which denies
all other worldviews. They believe there is no absolute truth. So they can tolerate
anything except the absolute claim of truth.

BOTH HAVE THE SAME OBJECTIVE OF ELIMINATING GOD AND ENJOYING THE
EVIL PLEASURE OF SIN

When the attempt of the modernity to build up a “one world order” through the
idolization of HUMAN REASON met with failure, the post modernity entered the
arena in order to conquer the whole world through UNREASON. Thus modernity
and post modernity are JUST TWO DIFFERENT INTELLECTUAL FRAMEWORKS
devised by the evil forces in order to attain the same objective of global domination. The
modernity and post modernity together represent the contemporary intellectual, cultural
and spiritual character of the world which is under the rule of devil. They also represent
mankind’s most calculated, emphatic, arrogant, and most comprehensive efforts to be
like God.

POST-MODERNITY DEMANDS
DISINTEGRATION OF BIBLICAL VALUES
AND ENCOURAGES FALSE SPIRITUALITIES
In post-modernity there is widespread disillusionment with modernity. Post-
modernists spurn modernity’s promise of progress and the attempt to bring about better
future through an unquestionable application of reason. Post modernity considers truth
and reason as extinct. Post modernity is the name for the foundational philosophical
crisis of modernity. There is philosophical, cultural, social and paradigmatic shifts.

Post modernity is the protest against the universal theories of knowledge and meaning.
Post modernity denies all authorities and manipulated realities and meaning
according to the whims and fancies of some people. There is death of idealism. They
are disillusioned with ideologies. It does not recognize anything as sacred, sublime and
absolute. Certain well established world views and ideologies have become
obsolete. Hence they reject all types of overall explanations of life and reality. In it each
person manufactures his own truth and meaning.

In postmodernism the confidence of modernity is given way to cynicism, suspicion

and confusion. Post modernity is not a cohesive, consistent and logical mindset, but a
chaos of contradictory ideas. It is neither a belief system nor an ideology, but just a
state of affairs. It is a conglomeration of the contradictory and irrational beliefs, ideas
and practices that filled the vacuum created by the collapse of modernity.
Purposelessness, indeterminacy, immanence, randomness, rejection of authority,
improvisation, pluralism, uncertainty, instability and fragmentation are the signatures of
post modernity. There is no unified vision to replace the certainties of the old meta
narratives.

The resulting chaos of ideas and beliefs has no ultimate meaning or direction. In it even
both spirituality and scientific materialism are comfortably accommodated. The
postmodern man rejects dry-hard materialism and is open to spirituality and the
transcendent. But due to uncontrolled subjectivism he often becomes a victim of false
spirituality.

POST MODERNITY CELEBRATES THE DISINTEGRATION OF THE META-

NARRATIVES OF MODERNITY SUCH AS UNIVERSAL VALUES AND MORALITY

There is incredulity towards meta-narratives and universal values which legitimated the
knowledge enterprise of modernity. It denies the possibility of the transcendent and the
objective legitimization. The plans for mega cultures and societal entities have collapsed
and there is demand for opening up the existing units. Postmodernists concentrate
more on deconstruction of modern societies. Post modernity attempts to
deconstruct the superstructures, structures and infrastructures of modernity. The focus
is shifted from the grand and general utopias, schemes and ideologies to the stories of
separate individuals and communities. Individuals and communities are encouraged to
have identities of their own preferences.
Post modernity is highly subjectivistic, pragmatist and pluralistic. Here everybody acts
like gods, and take up any means to attain the self-defined goals. It is not just killing the
enemy. Sometimes it more cruel. Everyone else is a potential enemy. One’s own
interest is promoted at the cost of everyone else.
It denies the existence of any universal and foundational truths or principles. The source
of knowledge is subjective experiences. Thus Post modernityquestions the logic of
gospel. Nobody has any right to judge the right and wrong of anybody. There is no right
and wrong. Choice has become the major value. Man is now willing to believe in
anything. There is distrust over any claim for what is good for humanity as a whole.
Thus it ultimately inaugurated an era of fragmentation through spreading hatred among
the people based on caste, religion, region, language, race, etc. Post modernityworld is
a world of multiculturalism. The emphasis is on many cultures, not on single cultures.

BASIC PHILOSOPHY OF POSTMODERNITY

IS RELATIVISM AND SUBJECTIVISM

Modern man considers truth as relative. Everything varies from place to place, time to
time, and person to person. Thus everything is considered as relative. There is nothing
which is absolute or universally valid. But when they say that ‘everything is relative’ they
are contradicting themselves by trying to make an illegitimately absolute statement
about relativism. Because the statement that ‘everything is relative’ itself is not a relative
statement, but an absolute statement. Hence it is evident that everything cannot be
relative. The relativist cannot even state his views without contradicting himself.

The ultimate objective of relativism is not leading to truth, but the denial of the possibility
for absolute and objective truth, and thus confusing the people regarding the
uniqueness of Jesus Christ. In the relativistic world view there are no rules and
guidelines. Hence popular tastes, preferences and opinions have acquired
unquestionable supremacy over the absolute truth. In the postmodern relativistic world
there is no meaning and relevance for the concepts of right and wrong, good and bad,
truth and error, reality and fantasy, and even past, present and future. There is neither
sin nor evil. Thus there is a total collapse of categories, distinctives, and boundaries.

The prevailing belief is that: there is no universally valid and absolute moral standards.
Because there is no absolute basis to judge whether an action is right or wrong. Hence
what is right and what is wrong vary from place to place, time to time and person to
person. The relativistic truism is that, that which is true for one person need not be true
for another person. The prevailing attitude is, “If you feel it good, just do it”. Feelings
have replaced truth. Morality is considered as relative. Thus ethics became situational.
Hence they justify abortion, euthanasia and infanticide. Millions of babies are killed in
mother’s womb. In the relativist worldview the unborn, the elderly, the retarded and the
handicapped are expendable or dispensable. Those who do not agree with the New
World Order will also be eliminated for sake of the ‘general interest’ of the world. There
is no sense of justice, reason or truth. Hence modern man is not interested in noble
causes.

Post modernity is marked by the rejection of objective truth, absolute truth, the
powers of reason, and the claims of universality. In its reaction to modernity, post
modernity challenges even the very concepts of objectivity and rationality. It has also
resorted to senseless pluralism, idolization of tolerance, and subjectivism leading
to a stage where no meaningful judgment, ethics and values are possible.
According to it EACH MAN IS HIS OWN MASTER and is therefore empowered to
create his own reality (virtual reality). It is the “priesthood of all believers minus text”.
Beyond the individual there is no absolute reality and authority.

POSTMODERN RELATIVISM IS WRONGLY INFLUENCED BY SOME THEORIES OF

SCIENCE

Roots of postmodernism can be identified in certain theories of natural sciences which

influenced philosophy like the theory of relativity (Einstein). According to the principle of
quantum mechanics (Werner Heisenberg, 1927) it is not possible to measure the
momentum and position of a particle simultaneously with absolute accuracy. Hence
what was possible in microphysics was only uncertain predictions (Heisenberg’s
principle of uncertainty). It was also inferred that what was possible in quantum
mechanics was only to state probabilities. The acknowledged PRINCIPLES OF
UNCERTAINTY AND INDETERMINACY EXISTING IN THE DOMAIN OF PHYSICS
WERE FALSELY EXTENDED EVEN TO THE DOMAIN OF THEOLOGY in order to
challenge the certainty and reliability of the divinely revealed infallible spiritual
principles. Thus the agents of materialism attempted to make a dent into the exclusivity
of Christian doctrines and called for openness and compromise.

According to the theory of complementarity (Niels Bohr 1928) it began to be accepted

that it is difficult to keep the subject who thinks and the object which is observed and
known, totally separate. Because the subject or the scientist is somehow influencing or
conditioning the reality or object which is to be studied. Hence the results of the
experiment cannot in fact be considered as truly objective. Hence nothing is objective;
everything is inter-subjective and complementary. According to the chaos theory the
linear chain of cause-effect-cause-effect cannot be ultimately right.
 POST MODERNITY AND MORAL RELATIVISM
ARE ENEMIES OF ABSOLUTE MORAL VALUES

The theory of relativity concluded that everything was relative. Post modernity does
not believe in the existence of any objective and absolute Truth or overall
explanation of reality. It questions the possibility of absolute, universal and objective
knowledge, eternal principles, values and truths in all aspects of human existence like
science, religion and morality. It invariably poses challenge to any belief which claims
objective truth and universal applicability for all times. All this gave rise to an era of
relativity and indeterminacy where any claim to absolute truth is looked down
with suspicion. Consequently people have become skeptics and non-critical.

This inevitably leads to moral relativism. The possibility of universally acceptable moral
principles is rejected. The prevailing belief is that there is no universally valid and
absolute moral standard. All morality is relative. All values except tolerance
isconsidered to be relative. Tolerance of anything is the universal and absolute value
for them. The relativists defend their ideology in the name of respecting the views of
others. (But they are intolerant of views which are against their views). When they say
that ‘everything is relative’ they are contradicting themselves by trying to make an
illegitimately absolute statement about relativism. If relativism is only relatively true, then
it is not relevant for all. Thus relativism is self-contradictory and self-defeating. The
relativist cannot state his views without contradicting himself. Thus PM has an
epistemological confusion inherent in it. The ultimate objective of relativism is the denial
of the possibility for absolute and objective truth.

It is priesthood of all minus text. Man can be what he wants to be. All are gods and
absolutes. It does not recognize any objective criterion or standard as a reference
point outside oneself. The person himself is considered as the ultimate authority. Man
is a petty-god. Hence the only acceptable standard of reference is subjective
experience. Hence what is right and wrong vary from place to place, time to time and
person to person. The postmodern truism is that that which is true for one person
need not be true for another person. Truth is considered as relative. There are no
rules, guides and guidelines, only preferences and opinions. Popular tastes, opinions
and convictions acquired unquestionable supremacy. Opinions became weightier than
truth. There is neither sin nor evil. In the postmodern relativistic world there is no
meaning for the ideals of right and wrong, good and bad, truth and error, reality and
fantasy, and even past, present and future. Thus there is a total collapse of
categories, distinctives, and boundaries. They construct their own values and
realities. He believes that he can create and experience his own truth. The prevailing
attitude is, “If you feel it good, just do it”. Everything is subjective. There is only
relativism and pluralism. There are only truths for oneself. This epistemological
skepticism has inevitably led to epistemological fragmentation and localization
(contextualisation) of truth. Since truth is not their major concern, they mix various
elements of beliefs and values to produce a system which looks good for them.
Syncretism is highly valued. Thus Ecumenism is a postmodern phenomenon.

POSTMODERNITY KILLS REALITYAND EMBRACES

VIRTUAL REALITY AND MYTH
Post modernism has blurred the boundaries between truth, reality and fantasy. It
confuses truth, reality and fiction in an almost indistinguishable fashion. When man lost
hope in science and religion he found asylum in the world of fantasies, fictions and
virtual realities. For him fantasies and imaginations are equally valid as facts. Thus man,
lost in his own fancies, is more distant from truth than ever. He has abdicated the
truth for a lie. Quote Rom 1:25-32. The incarnation of Christ was not a virtual reality, but
a fact.

POST MODERNISM DENIES OBJECTIVITY OF HISTORY. Some people become

skeptical that history is an objective reality, because of the popularity of relativistic
views of truth. Post-modernism falsely denies the existence of any objective truth. This
leads them to the wrong relativistic view of history according to which, history is what
everyone interprets to favor his own interests.

POSTMODERN MAN DENIES ALL AUTHORITIES. Modern man does not recognize
anything as sacred and hence questions the possibility of absolute, universal and
objective knowledge, eternal principles, values and truths in all aspects of human
existence like science, politics, economics, religion and morality.

KNOWLEDGE INDUSTRY AND SECULARIZED EDUCATION HAVE

ACCOMPLISHED THE DESTRUCTION OF THE SENSE OF RIGHT AND WRONG.
They promote skepticism and relativism. They reject absolutes. They do not know
what they should believe or what they should not believe. They lost sense of right and
wrong. They do not have anything to defend. But they are willing to rebel against
anything. They idolized value-free research and liberated themselves from the bondage
of values and morality. Modern academic methodology expects us to be value-free in
our analyses and studies if it is to be “objective”. Ethics, morality and values are
rejected as lacking objectivity. They prefer situation ethics.
POSTMODERNISM DISCOURAGES MAN TO ASK SERIOUS QUESTIONS ON
SUBSTANTIAL ISSUES AND THUS SEEK OBJECTIVE TRUTH OR ANSWERS. It is
falsely presupposed that there is no real objective answers and that it is not intelligent to
ask questions. The superior virtue has become the ability not to ask questions which
deal with substantial issues. They don’t believe in ultimate realities and answers,
because they consider them as obstacles to their freedom. They are now willing to
believe in anything.

The superior virtue has become the ability not to ask questions which deal with
substantial issues. People take interest in discussing petty issues. In the name of
specialization they even spend life-times in dealing with meaningless details. It is falsely
presupposed that there is no real objective answers and hence it is not intelligent to ask
questions. Hence instead of searching for the truth he searches for the “point” and asks
what is the point? There is no hope of finding answers to anything. Every answer raised
more questions. He thinks that man cannot understand the universe fully. He is
disillusioned with the ideas of progress of man, faith in science etc. There is hope only
in the process of discovery.
Thus methodology has become an end in itself. Man at last is realizing that there is no
end to formulas, theories and the writing of books. Gradually these ideas took root in the
popular culture. The consequent popular culture produced a generation which did not
believe in any absolute moral or objective truth. The postmodernism distills itself into the
popular mind through TV, films, books, music etc. These will gradually determine the
way we look at life and truth.

BEWARE OF THE DEMONIC DECEPTION OF

POSTMODERNITY WITHOUT VALUES,
MORALITY AND GOD

ALL THE MAN-MADE BELIEF SYSTEMS ARE JUST MULTI-FACETED

MANIFESTATIONS OF UNTRUTH. They include those ideas, idea-systems,
ideologies, knowledge, philosophies, religions, pseudo-theologies, movements, etc.
which deny the Lordship of Jesus Christ. There is no end to the varieties of untruth, and
its ideas and ideologies. Untruth is attractive and complex. The evil appears attractive
only to deceive man. Evil and untruth cannot be analyzed and studied in neat
categories. Man needs not know all the details of how the untruth or evil functions.
Hence believer must be careful in not spending more time on studying untruth. It will be
self-deceptive and un-glorifying to God. Believers need only to discern the evil and get
established in the truth. Only in the search light of the truth in Christ that one can
identify and understand the untruth.

All other knowledge and information serve the purpose of hiding the truth of Christ in a
subtle way. False knowledge (2 Tim 3:7) puffs up. Secular knowledge is ultimately
meaningless (Ecle 12: 12-14). There is nothing new under the sun. Earth and the
fullness thereof is the Lord’s. But man is under the myth of science and progress.
Modernity’s man-centered (humanistic) and materialistic search for knowledge has led
to uncertainty, intellectual confusion, moral and spiritual indifference, relativism and
skepticism and the consequent despair and confusion. Many hypocrites masquerade as
resource persons, intellectuals and professionals. Expert knowledge has become an
end and an idol in itself. The new knowledge class developed their own élitism with its
own language and symbols. Specialization generated expertise and made majority of
the people dependent. Originality is prized above the truth to such an extent that the
latest is considered as truer and best.
WHY GOD JESUS IS THE ONLY SOLUTION
TO THE POSTMODERN CONFUSION
Postmodernity is a hopeless system which offers man only pervasive
meaninglessness, valuelessness, pessimism, nihilism, relativism, loss of truth,
aimless fragmentation and thus destruction of the very foundations of human
community. It is manifested in the chaos of contradictory ideas, philosophical
perceptions, trends, fashions, irrational beliefs and ideologies of the contemporary man.
There is commercialization of everything, collapse of morality and all-embracing
secularization. The ‘omnipotent’ media specializes in myth-making and falsification of
truth.

CHAPTER 14

ROHITH IS NOT AN EXAMPLE FOR DALITS, SUICIDE IS NOT THE SOLUTION FOR
DALITS

He was victimized by the unholy political process. His letter suggests that he was a very
sensitive person. He was misguided unhealthy situations. He was innocent and unwise.
There is no point in making a hero out of him.

MYTH OF - FROM SHADOWS TO STARS? SUICIDE IS NOT A SHORTCUT TO

VICTORY, BUT A SUPREME TRAGEDY. His suicide might reinvigorate the Dalit
struggles for a while. Social struggles are permanently inherent to any vibrant society.
Hence suicides should not be used to fuel the social struggles. For Rohith, his suicide
was the biggest failure that could happen to him.

CHAPTER 15

FASCINATION FOR DEATH

HAPPY DEAD THAN ALIVE – Let my funeral be silent and smooth. Behave like I just
appeared and gone. Do not shed tears for me. Know that I am happy dead than being
alive."From shadows to the stars."Uma anna, sorry for using your room for this thing.

CHOSING BETWEEN LIFE AND DEATH –In fact sin, death and devil are the basic
enemies of mankind. Mankind has an innate aversion for these three and Jesus
on the cross death and resurrection has overcome all these. Death is the horror
and enemy of mankind. Life is the most precious gift of God to mankind. But he chose
death. Rejecting life and choosing death is tragic.

THEY HAVE A PHILOSOPHICAL DESIRE TO DIE. The decision to commit suicide for
some is based on a reasoned decision, often motivated by the presence of a painful
terminal illness from which little to no hope of reprieve exists. These people aren't
depressed, psychotic, maudlin, or crying out for help. They're trying to take control of
their destiny and alleviate their own suffering, which usually can only be done in death.
They often look at their choice to commit suicide as a way to shorten a dying that will
happen regardless.
When life seems void of meaning, people tend to question why they are even living
and/or the entire purpose of their existence. This is often referred to as an “existential
crisis” and can be difficult to overcome because people dealing with this issue often
think themselves in circles of logic as to why there is no point to life. In many cases,
people facing an existential crisis consider suicide because they feel as if their entire
existence is void of purpose.

This crisis can result from major depression, trauma, loneliness, seeking meaning
and/or general dissatisfaction with life. Some reports suggest that this crisis may affect
individuals with above-average levels of intelligence. Facing an existential crisis can be
difficult and can take a while to get over. Usually the individual needs to make some sort
of changes in life for their existential outlook to change.

CHAPTER 16

SUICIDE IS THE

ULTIMATE FAILURE

SUICIDE POINT IS THE CLIMAX OF UNCERTAINTY AND CONFUSION. I am writing

this kind of letter for the first time. My first time of a final letter. Forgive me if I fail to
make sense.
Suicide is an eternal tragedy for the person and a lifelong tragedy his surviving family
and friends. Suicide is never a solution. There is no problem so great that it cannot be
resolved with time and care.

SUICIDE BECOMES GLOBAL. According to the World Health Organization

approximately 1 million people die each year from suicide. What makes so many
individuals to take their own lives? To many it is difficult to understand what drives so
many individuals to take their own lives. But the fact is that suicidal person is in so much
pain that he or she can see no other option.

SUICIDE IS THE ACT OF TAKING ONE'S OWN LIFE.Suicide is a desperate attempt

to escape suffering that has become unbearable. Blinded by feelings of self-loathing,
hopelessness, and isolation, a suicidal person can't see any way of finding relief except
through death. But despite their desire for the pain to stop, most suicidal people are
deeply conflicted about ending their own lives. They wish there was an alternative to
committing suicide, but they just can't see one.

SUICIDE IS A REBELLION AGAINST GOD. Life is a gift from God, so taking away life
is a severe form of rebellion against God. Some commit suicide because they have
become so angry with God that they reject the gift of life.

SOMETIMES SOME HAVE A SENSE OF REVENGE. Ultimately, this is an attempt to

seek revenge over God. But we should know that suicide hurts the person more than
anyone else and that it does not affect God.

SUICIDE IS ESCAPISM. The last lines of Hitler’s personal testament: “I myself and
my wife – in order to escape the disgrace of deposition or capitulation – choose
death.

SUICIDE NEVER LEADS TO THE DESIRED GOAL.Suicide is the act of self-murder.

They never fulfill the perceived purpose that caused them to commit suicide. No matter
what motivated them to commit suicide, they were no better off after than before the
suicide. Most people who commit suicide do so because things have become so intense
that they feel the cessation of consciousness would be a relief. Yet precisely because
consciousness does not cease with the death of the body, there is no relief, there is no
rest from the problems that have plagued the person.

CHAPTER 17

DEVIL IS BEHIND EVERY

MURDER AND SUICIDE
Violence, murder, suicide, abortion,etc, are crimes against mankind and is caused by
the devil who is the primary enemy of mankind. Devil is the one who promotes all kinds
of killing. In the world there are innumerable people who commit suicide because they
are pessimistic about their lives. The motive for committing suicide was caused by
Satan, the Devil, demons and evil spirits that deceive the human beings with groundless
lies in order to drive the spiritsof people into the ever-burning fire sea of hell

SUICIDE CAN BE DIRECTLY DEMONIC. Virginia Woolf’s Last Words to her husband
read, “…I feel certain that I am going mad again … I shan’t recover this time. I begin to
hear voices, and I can’t concentrate. So I am doing what seems the best thing to do. …
You see I can’t even write this properly … What I want to say is I owe all the happiness
of my life to you…”

FOR EVERY EVENT IN LIFE THERE IS A SPIRITUAL REASON. When something

good happens there is a good spirit at work and when bad events occurs there is the
influence of the bad spirit. Today we are living in an empirical world where we have lost
the concept of spiritual reasoning. Today's man seeks reason for everything in the
empirical world which is tangible. Many are blind towards the realities of the spiritual
world! Only those who are spiritual can think in a spiritual way. "And we speak about
them not with words taught by human wisdom, but with words taught by the Spirit,
describing spiritual realities in spiritual terms. Now the natural person does not accept
what pertains to the Spirit of God, for to him it is foolishness, and he cannot understand
it, because it is judged spiritually" (1 Cor 1:13-14)

INCREASED SUICIDE RATE FOR THOSE INVOLVED IN KINDS OF SATANIC

SPIRITUALITIES. Here we see the danger of going to the alternative treatments and
therapies that come from esoteric and new age. They are based on the power of the
universe which is the power of the ' Lord of this world ' that is devil. St. John Says, "We
know that we (we who believe in Christ and the Church) belong to God, and the whole
world is under the power of the evil one" (1 Jn 5:19).

WE HAVE THE EXAMPLE OF THE SUICIDE OF JUDAS AND SATANIC

CONNECTION. Many would say that he committed suicide because of his regret and
despair of betraying Jesus, his master, to crucifixion. But if we analyze his story, we
would see that it was Satan that led him to this wicked action. At the last supper when
Jesus instituted the Holy Eucharist, Judas received communion in an unholy heart and
as a result Satan entered into him. "After he took the morsel, Satan entered into him. So
Jesus said to him, ' what you are going to do. do quickly" (Jn 13:13:27). St. Paul clearly
teaches that those who receive the body and blood of Christ unworthily brings
condemnation (1Cor 11:27-29) Judas received the Body of Christ with the thought and
plan of betraying his master! He had not repented of it or changed his plan. When a
person goes willingly to Satanic, esoteric and new age practices, definitely the devil will
start working in him or her. Devil is a thief that steals the souls! " A thief comes only to
steal and slaughter and destroy" ( Jn 10:10a)

leaves on its own. It may lay dormant for years.

God has created us in His image. He created us for a purpose. God has a specific plan
in mind for everyone. For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord. Plans to
prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Jeremiah 29:11
God's plan is for life, not death. The Bible teaches that both physical and spiritual death
are the result of our sin and disobedience to God, but eternal life is a gift to those who
receive it. For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ
Jesus our Lord (Roman 6:23).

Jesus taught that death and destruction are the work of “the thief” satan. He said, The
thief comes only to steal and destroy (John 10:10). John 8:44 says that Satan is a
murderer” and the “father of lies.” The feelings of despair that lead to suicide are caused
by some of his lies. Jesus wants us to have life. He said: The thief comes only to steal
and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full (John
10:10).

Life belongs to God. It is never our place to take our own life or someone else's life. Do
you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you
have received from God? You are not your own, you were bought at a price. Therefore
honor God with your body (1 Cor 6:19-20).

MANKIND.Jesus had voluntarily experienced the whole spectrum of human suffering
for all humans. If we really understand the meaning of this event, we will never kill
others or ourselves.

ESCAPE SUICIDE BY FAITH IN JESUS. Rate of suicide varies from country to

country. Also the suicide rate is high in countries that have lost faith in God and religion.
Suicide rates were very low in the Christian countries in the past because they had faith
and practice of faith. Faith in God gives man hope and optimism in Life. Today as the
number of atheists, agnostics and those who apostatized faith are increasing, in despair
and depression the number of suicide too increases! When one believes in God,
especially in Jesus and in His redeeming work, one finds meaning for life in spite of
sufferings, difficulties and tragedies of life. There are the testimonies of many people
who were at the brink of suicide because of tragedies one after the other, but finding
Jesus in their life they began to know the value of life and thus they rejected the idea of
suicide and now living happy lives.Jesus came to this world to give life- life in
abundance (Jn 10:10b) At the tomb of Lazarus Jesus said, "I am the resurrection and
life; whoever believes in me, even if he dies, will live" (Jn 11:25) Also he said " I am the
way, the truth and LIFE" (Jn 14:6) I know the stories of many suicide cases where if
they had real faith in Jesus they would not have died. The Spirit of Christ that is the Holy
Spirit brings life to the people whereas the devil that is the spirit of death brings death,
murder and suicide (Jn 8:44). Due to various reasons like Devil worship, esoteric and
new age, the spirit of death is at work in the world today more than in the past.

There is reason for hope. Your life is worth much more than you think. If you have
problems in your study place or job place, don’t commit suicide, rather choose another
place or do any job, trust in God, and you will have wonderful life.

The solution to despair and hopelessness is not suicide, but faith in God. We wait in
hope for the Lord; he is our help and our shield. In him our hearts rejoice, for we trust in
his holy name. Psalms 33:20-22.

Christ promises that He will give us rest from our problems. Come to me, all you who
are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest (Mathew11:28).

Tell someone. Tell your parents, your brother or sister, your teacher or school
counselor, your pastor or youth minister that you are thinking about suicide. If a friend
tells you that he or she is serious about suicide, then you need to tell someone who is
responsible and can help.

Accept Christ's free gift of eternal life and salvation. For everyone who calls on the
name of the Lord will be saved. Romans 10:13. Yet to all who received him, to those
who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God. John 1:12.
When we accept Christ, God gives us a brand-new life and sees us as completely holy
and righteous. Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone,
the new has come! God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we
might become the righteousness of God (2 Cor 5:17-21).

I tell you the truth, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal
life and will not be condemned; he has crossed over from death to life. (John 5:24).

CONCLUSION
THE MOST LOGICAL AND SAFEST POSITION FOR ANY PERSON IS ACCEPTING
JESUS AS HIS SAVIOR AND GOD. God is the creator of all. He created man in his
own image. But man became sinful by disobedience and became subject to death
deserving eternal hell as punishment. But the loving God offered a solution to the
defeated mankind. In Jesus, God Himself became man’s substitute and sin bearer. Man
can have complete victory, by faith in Jesus.
In our daily life we admit so many things without even thinking about proof. But this
gospel truth has more proof, than anything else of our daily life. The death and
resurrection of Jesus are historically demonstrated, physically manifested, and
objectively represented events with greatest proof. In spite of all these, many ignore the
matter altogether.
This kind of irresponsibility will be punished with eternal hell. If you don’t believe this
God, while you are yet alive, you will be made accountable to this God, after death. But
then, it will be too late, and after death in hell, there will be no chance for correction.
If you are determined to believe in the gospel, only after knowing God fully, then you will
never believe, because it is impossible for the finite man, to understand the eternal and
infinite God fully, ever. Only God can fully understand God. The greatness of God and
our human limitations make it impossible for us to fully comprehend God, ever.
Knowing the eternal infinite God is a never ending process. The more you know him,
the more is the wonder, excitement and ecstasy, and the greater will be your urge to
worship him. Hence eternity with God will be an ever-growing experience of joyous
wonder, and worship. But the hell experience will be, just the opposite. There will be
growing horror, regret and the pain of rejecting God. Anyone without Jesus shall be
there. The saddest thing about hell is that, once there, there is no chance to get out of
there.
Ultimately it is your life, your destiny and your responsibility. For those who are honest
and objectively open, these are sufficient evidences to help them making an
intelligent decision. Even when you think, you are not convinced for lack of absolute
proof faith in Jesus is the wisest bet.
Because, the believer in Jesus will have eternal bliss, if he is right, and lose nothing,
even if he is wrong. Because, no belief system in the world claims that, simply because
one believes in Jesus, one will go to hell. But on other hand, those who reject Jesus
have the infinitely dangerous alternative of eternal damnation in hell, because the Bible
which is the most authentic source of spiritual information on earth categorically warns
that those who reject Jesus shall be punished with eternal hell.
The Christian faith is historically verifiable, intelligent and objective faith. Those who
reject Christian faith can never stand on a more logical faith. So go for the best. Make a
wise decision right now, while you are yet alive. Now is the time of your salvation. Don’t
