A Nano-Electro-Mechanical Switch Based Power Gating for Effective Stand-by

Power Reduction in FinFET Technologies.

Abstract:-

In this paper, we demonstrate a Nano Electro-Mechanical Switch and its design methodology. This
implementation will reduce standby power dissipation in Finfet technology to a negligible value. Among
Nano Electro-Mechanical Switches, cantilever NEMS provides a better footprint area than suspended
NEMS, but there is a reduction in reliability. We determine that for a 17-stage ring oscillator, a test
circuit. This implementation shows that suspended NEMS will perform efficient power gating than Finfet
switch when Ton/Toff is less than 0.002.
