This structure is arranged according to each team member's respon- sibilities. For example, at the top of an organizational structure (i.e, corporate ladder) is the president. In the case of a school, the administrator is at the top of the organizational ladder. The administrator is followed by the principal, supervisors, monitors, and ey Principal ‘Supervisor Monitor finally the students. Each team member has specific work responsibilities. The farther up the ladder one moves, the broader the scope of responsibility becomes. Going up the ladder there are superiors. Coming down the ladder there are subordinates. Each person has certain responsibilities and particular functions within a chain of command. ‘These individuals all interrelate to one another on the basis of established principles and policies. When leadership principles are violated or policies broken, an indiscretion has occurred. This indiscretion causes frustration within the organization. It should be no surprise that indiscretions sown at the beginning of a school year will germinate throughout the year and often. produce a “crop” of much larger problems. Tris not usually the big problem that catches a school staff off guard, but the little ones. Little complications become big complications, if not properly managed. Failing to meet one’s responsibilities always results in some form of monkey business.
