I. COURSE DESCRIPTION:
This course provides complete skill to understand basic function of Mathematics and their use in Business and Finance. After completing the
course, student will be able to solve business and finance problems.

II. LEARNING OUTCOME:


By the end of the course, students should be able to:

 Analyze real world scenarios to recognize when simple and compound interest, annuities, payroll preparation, pricing, invoice preparation,
trade discounts, taxes, and depreciation are appropriate, formulate problems about the scenarios, creatively model these scenarios (using
technology if appropriate) in order to solve the problems using multiple approaches, judge if the results are reasonable, and then interpret
and clearly communicate the results.
 Appreciate business mathematics concepts that are encountered in the real world, understand and be able to communicate the underlying
business concepts and mathematics involved to help another person gain insight into the situation.
 Work with simple and compound interest, annuities, payroll preparation, pricing, invoice preparation, trade discounts, taxes, and
depreciation problems in various situations and use correct mathematical terminology, notation, and symbolic processes in order to be
prepared for future coursework in business and mathematics that requires the use of and an understanding of the concepts of business
mathematics.
