CHAPTER III

RESEARCH METHODOLOGY

RESEARCH DESIGN

This study followed the Descriptive Survey Quantitative Research Design. Using the

frequencies and percentage of the given tables, the researchers will find out the effect of bullying

among Senior High School Students of Ormoc City Senior High School.

RESEARCH LOCALE

This study will be conducted at Ormoc City Senior High School during the whole months

of January and February 2019.

RESEARCH PROCEDURE

A total of 40 respondents in OCHS were able to participate in the research study. It is

composed of ten Grade 7 students, ten Grade 8 students, ten Grade 9 students, and ten Grade 10

students of the Junior High School Department at New Ormoc City National High School who

were equally selected through purposive sampling.

Additionally, in order to get in-depth information about the student formation programs that the

particular school has implemented about anti-bullying and representative from the student

information in-charge will also be interviewed in OCSHS.


DATA GATHERING

Data will be gathered through a structured questionnaire. Prior to the distribution of the

questionnaires, a consent letter will be sought from the respondents, and the process and

anonymity of the interviews were explained. The selected students will be given the survey

questionnaires which were designed to obtain demographic information on every respondent

including questions on bullying.

On the other hand, an in-depth interview is done with the prefect of students’ formation

in charge about their observations of bullying behaviors and how they address these problems.

These supplemental questionnaires allow the prefect student’s formation in charge to discuss

bullying in a more detailed and insightful manner.

DATA ANALYSIS

Data will be analyzed through the use of Statistical Package for the Social Science (SPSS

v. 16) using various charts or graphs in creating display results. The means, frequencies, and

percentages will be used for descriptive analysis.
