Questions and Meditations

Preamble

The earth as we know it is at stake.

Evolution is in a phase of acceleration.
Humanity must awake, or perish.
If many are the clarified voices that rise today in all countries and in all
languages of this world, enjoining governments to change course while there
is still time, monopolies, consortiums and financial groups are increasing
their self-interested pressure all the more.

What are the forces that actually hold the power, what is really this power,
where is it seated and is there no saving puissance at work in this universe?
Or is it still and always the same perpetual age-long battle between Good
and Evil, between the Adversary and the Divine?
Or else are such perceptions only issuing from our state of consciousness
and our subjectivity?

Yet is it not undeniable that two distinct kinds of forces, actions and currents
are engaged in our consciousnesses?

It is NOW that we all must choose between those forces that possess us
through our obscured willingness and those forces that are working for the
true Good.

The choice is between those forces that seek to destroy the very milieu of a
continuously progressive evolution, and those forces that are working to
establish a concrete and irreversible awakening in human consciousness.

The ideal towards which we must move actively and integrally is that of a
humanity enlightened, pacified and eager for harmony, which will be capable
of accepting and welcoming the apparition of transitory beings learning to
operate in the material world according to a Principle of Unity and a direct
and sovereign Consciousness.

For mankind must and can collaborate.

*

At the level of peoples and nations, the measures to be taken are known
and, by now, self-evident.
- To halt the growth and expansion of large cities and to redistribute the
necessary infrastructure in the smaller towns and villages, while
encouraging local initiatives.
- To halt the animal food industry and to convert its capacities.
- To halt the armament industry and to convert its capacities.
- To halt noxious chemical fertilizers and pesticides industry and to
convert its capacities.
- To halt all harmful extraction of fossil matter and all excessive
exploitation of natural resources – activities which degrade the
environment.
- To better support and stimulate scientific researches, by freeing the
numerous patents that have been occulted by self-serving industrial
and financial entities and by turning all progress towards the
realization of a material harmony for all.
- To cease from blindly reproducing ourselves.
- To encourage and facilitate a responsible economy wherein each one
learns to give and to receive in the respect of the oneness of all that
is.
- To rehabilitate the dignity of all work.
- To orient society towards an agreement that would ensure minimum
universal revenue.
- To support and promote free access to practical know-how and
information in all languages currently used so as to allow everyone to
acquire a concrete and creative autonomy.

However another virulent specter must also be faced, understood and

integrated in humanity’s awakening – that of fanaticism.
Both identity and religious fanaticisms, exacerbated exclusivisms, must be
appeased and their causes comprehended so that, on the one hand, the
forces that feed from their excess of sanctified violence may desist and, on

3
the other hand, that a sentiment of community may circulate among their
numbers.
Every fanaticism is the sign of a primal stage of individual and collective
development: no inwardly developed individuality or any society cultivating
universal values will indulge in any form of fanaticism.
But the contemporary world is a great chaos of values and directions and for
all those who have not yet found their inner compass, the need of a
structure and of a code of conduct is imperative.

The great religions: why are they great, how could they generate so much
adhesion?
Because they each offer the advantage of structuring individual existence
from the cradle to the grave in providing it with meaning, a sense of
belonging and of direction and a body of immutable values.
According to the declared aim of a particular religion, its percepts and its
examples, the individual may derive the necessary indications for daily
practice and behavior.

However, none of these great religions preaches the search for perfection
upon this Earth: each one is content to propose a way of salvation and
redemption or liberation.
None of them is concerned with a durable creation, more and more
conscious and harmonious in this material world, although they all advise to
observe a conduct as noble and irreproachable as possible during this
temporary sojourn.

Yet, among all these terrestrial religions, the one named “Hinduism” is
potentially the vastest and the most open to mankind’s spiritual future, for it
has its roots and origins in an infinite store of inner direct experience which
states that “All is That” and “Nothing exists but That” and this material
universe is to become the Supreme’s habitation: this is therefore what we
must strive for, work towards and give ourselves to.
One of the consequences of the infiniteness of this source is that all genuine
spiritual experience is accepted and every realized relation to the Divine is
respected.

4
*

As for the atheist, the agnostic, the faithless, he is obliged to reflect and
question and to seek to discern the values, qualities, virtues and faculties
that constitute the essence of the human being and guarantee its integrity
while providing it with a leverage for its progress as well as a moral of
conduct that may pass the tests of time and help to respond to the
circumstances of this world wherein it is anchored – and this without ever
having to rely on any superior reality.

Yet, in fact as in practice, very rare today are those individuals who are
either true believers or truly without faith, for everyone eventually becomes
jaded or disillusioned by the limits and contradictions of all dogma as of all
positioning.

And all of us together gathered on this single ship seem to be rushing

towards annihilation - of our human existence at any rate.

How to hasten the awakening - the effective awakening, through and

through, of our ambivalent and precarious condition?

And can we even possibly awaken?

Shall we not be terrified?

For such is the conundrum of our state: with whatever the plans and
energies of mind and life have provided us, we have tried to occupy the
emptiness of absence, which is the consequence of our having grown
separated.
Having at our disposal the faculty of imagination, we keep peopling the
future with a multitude of artifacts ever more sophisticated and performing,
serving ever more puissant societies and personae, wavering between good
and evil and from worst to best, those advances being reflected in our
present times by the technological applications we elect to make of our
scientific discoveries – and these choices betray us.

5
For we almost never imagine, nor are we able to do so, what would be a true
existence – filled and vibrant with Presence and independent of any exterior
input.

Yet whenever one of us human beings, somewhere upon this unique Earth,
succeeds in making an offered and oriented usage of this faculty of
imagination and exercises it as a call and a channel, something of That
Reality that we miss, some expression of its presence, its force and its
harmony filters into our ambient collective milieu and works in it to sow,
propagate and disseminate a little of the true consciousness.

We are still the cavemen: those immense caves wherein minuscule

inhabitants gesticulate, yowl, fear and intoxicate themselves in their
ceaseless attempts to remedy to the absence, the hollowness and the
sonorous emptiness, covering the walls with absorbent objects, fabricating
always more tools and instruments and subterfuges and busying themselves
as much as they can – so as to no longer feel the bite of this gaping yaw.

Can we imagine at all the sovereignty of the true consciousness?

No, we cannot – it can only be known through identity.

But sometimes, as if by accident, one experiences a glimpse of it and one

knows, one comprehends = that This IS.

What to do, then?

However, we are not entirely bereft of offerings when we come before the
true consciousness.
For, through it all we have developed what may remain and grow within the
breast and under the watch of the consciousness of Unity: our culture, or
multitudinous cultivation, of our relation to the Divine – to Truth, to
Perfection, Harmony, Beauty, to Justice or Goodness, to all that pulls us up
to the height of what we truly are.
From our human condition of constraints, needs and necessities, this
treasure built itself up which nothing can destroy and the future will make to
blossom.

6
We must choose.

The peril is there.

For we are presently yielding to a virtual world which, although it seems to

us to be the magical fruit of our survival capacity, whose combinations,
permutations end extensions are probably infinite, yet grows like a constant
parasite that is robbing us of our flame of aspiration and call.

We need to shake this hypnosis off, we need to call and call and call,
wherever we are, as breath, as food, as water, to call this veritable Good
that alone can put everything in its place, quieten and soothe and relieve
and change everything.

Is calling an act?

Is it enough for us to be calling, individually, or in groups?

The call is indispensable, if only because we do not actually know how to

resolve the impasses humanity has moved into and all the “solutions” we
might consider would inevitably be partial and fragmented.
But the call alone is like a mute cry: one must associate it with a process, an
action, even while knowing that this process and this action will surely fall
short and fail us, one must give a body and a vehicle to this cry, make it
circulate, make it resonate and rise and flame and reach – and it teaches us
to open and to receive.

Thus, the citizens’ movements, punctual acts, the protests and testimonies,
the healing works and the beneficial innovations, every such action may
associate with the call, draw strength from it and give it substance.

To act without any attachment, with all the necessary conviction and
commitment, yet without ever being reduced to it, such is the responsibility
each of us is to respect.

For above all we must put ourselves into the transforming current and let it
flow and let it work.

7
This Consciousness is capable.

Let us withdraw from all the drama:

Consciousness is One and when we open our doors to it, the doors of our
most material state, that of our body, the circulation of the Force may reveal
the operations required for the advent of an uninterrupted harmonious
terrestrial progress.

That which depends on nothing but Self – the Source infinite, eternal,
limitless.

Namo= One offers to That

All that one is, all that one has,
All that one can do and will ever be able to do,

9
What follows is a series of questionings and meditations, or contemplations,
around matters that concern every one of us, seeking to grasp the role and
place of the contradiction and the adversity which have made of our
humanity a curse for terrestrial nature and to unite more consciously to That
which can open to us the way of a durable and fecund Harmony.

1
The Role of Horror

One day in 1968, the Mother made the comment that… “We know that the
adverse forces are so to speak authorized to work – precisely through the
sentiment of horror – to hasten the awakening of the consciousness…”

(….”I know now, I remember, this whole experience came after having read
a book which was published in India very recently, in English, which they
called ‘The Roll of Honor’, where there is the photograph and a short
biography of all those who died in the fight against the British, for the
freedom of India. There were photos everywhere, lots of photographs (some
were only the photograph taken by the police when they had just been killed
and were still lying on the ground), and all this brought a certain
atmosphere: the atmosphere of these disinterested good-wills that meet
with a tragic fate. It gave me an impression similar to the effect produced by
the photographs of the German horrors during the war over there. It is
evident that these things are directly under the influence of certain adverse
forces, but we know that the adverse forces are so to say authorized to work
– precisely through this sentiment of horror – to hasten the awakening of
the consciousness. And then, this experience, which very much resembled
the one I had when I saw the photographs of the German atrocities in
France, has put me in touch with the vision of the human error, terrestrial,
modern (it is modern: it started in those last thousand years and it is
becoming more and more acute in the last hundred years), with the
aspiration to counter it: how to do so, what is to be done… And the answer:
“It is for this that you have created Auroville!”
It is a perception of the forces – the forces that act directly in the events,
the material events, which are … illusory and false; for example, the man
who has fought for the freedom of his country, who has just been
assassinated there because he is a revolted one, and who looks like a
defeated one, lying on the parapet of the road: it is he, the victorious one!
This is it. It shows well the kind of relation between the truth and the
expression. And so, if one enters into this consciousness where one
perceives the play of forces and one sees the world this way, it is very
interesting and it is like this, when I was in this state, that it was said to me,
shown to me clearly (it is inexpressible because these are not words, but

11
facts): “It is for this that you have created Auroville”. It is the same thing as
for this photo.”…
Extract from the Mother’s Agenda, recorded by Sujata and Satprem)

Horror.

The sentiment one experiences when confronted with the manifestation of

wills, intents and motives which seem contrary to the very sense of
humanness, betray it, vilify it, threaten it and harm it.

This sentiment one experiences before the torture inflicted to the brave, the
heroes and the revolted, before the murder of those who have the courage
to retain human dignity.

Before the enterprise of methodical, deliberate, organized annihilation of all

those who do not conform to the norms established by the local majority.

Before the planned, detailed, refined and legitimized spread of abomination.

The faces and the behaviors that inspire this horror, which provoke or induce
this sentiment of horror like a massive alarm, a chilling reminder and a
terrible testimony to our condition, are strewn along our way in space and
time – today itself we must face them and respond: how?

“We know…”
Who is “we”?
Mother and Sri Aurobindo and their disciples and children on their Way of
Yoga for the Earth?
All those who are conscious of the One, of the Real, of the Supreme?

12
Or even, all those of us who are the irreducible ones, who will not yield even
under the most cruel and intense agony or the most ingenious and
convincing temptations, their essential humanity?

Is it not often said that every human being has its price?

In the language of adversity, rare, very rare are those who cannot be bought
= is this not the appraisal that stares at us now, questioning our integrity
wherever we may exist upon this Earth?

Has it not been amply and concretely demonstrated that the most intensive,
rounded, thorough and perfected development of our instrumental nature,
constitutes no guarantee of real humanness?
That a monstrous project can form and take flight within the very culture of
excellence?

We are not even the masters of our own individual domains, how could we
be responsible of all of their parts?

How could any one of us ever claim and affirm and promise never to buckle
and give, never to surrender, never to capitulate?

Whoever has had, when came its time, the experience to be born to the
spirit, to be reborn, would wish to share it, for it then seems as if a very
simple movement suffices – and yet how many lives and ordeals were
needed before this single perfectly simple shift… of the consciousness?

The consciousness imprisoned, reduced, hypnotized for so long that,

suddenly, finds itself released and free in the true milieu, Life infinite…
It does not take any time = the consciousness disengaged, its burden
divested, light and whole… yes, afterwards, this is what one observes, when
one has had to return, at once the same and ineffably changed.

13
It is the identification that keeps us fettered and chained.

We are bound, we suffer, we desire and we despair – because we are

identified.
Identified to the instrumental personality, this tiny temporary amalgam
which is “me”, this past, this history, these assets and these lacks and
wants, this complexity, these possibilities, this journey – and this body = the
closer we are to the body and the tighter is the identification.

Our most material vital being, our nervous being, is at once a narrow cord of
energy and an envelope or sheath which the body itself needs constantly in
order to persist in its form and its organism.

To recover the integrity of the true consciousness while remaining

incarnated, one must sever, dissolve or master this bond = it is thus that
the ancient initiatory disciplines always included a central ordeal, the most
critical and determining, that of physical death.

To return clear-sighted and liberated from this radical experience was the
condition to be fulfilled before confronting other dangers, to serve the Truth
and to hold the torch of consciousness in this world as in the others.

Under the action of an invasive terror, an intense desire, an extreme

pleasure or an acute pain, the identification grows ever stronger until it
becomes exclusive and seems absolute.
It is then as if it has become impossible to extract, or to abstract oneself
from it.
Thus, how could one’s resistance to inflicted suffering be the only measure
or indicator of integrity?

An effective transformative action must have already unified each

instrumental part to the conscious source.

14
*

However, even if one has held the charge, adversity still detains the ultimate
weapon to force us to succumb – that of the atrocity which could be
committed upon those one loves, if one does not surrender.
What are then the karmic consequences of holding forth no matter what,
relying on a higher force, or of abdicating for the safeguard of others?

Where will go the weight and the responsibility, how will they move?

“…To hasten the awakening of consciousness…”

The collective consciousness, the consciousness of, or in, humanity?

The consciousness of every human being, with the recognition of one’s part
of responsibility or, more precisely, of connivance, with adversity?
The consciousness in all of its forms and manifestations, disengaging itself,
becoming aware again, finding itself back?

During the rise to power of Nazism, with its goal of supremacy, it was the
Lord of Falsehood, the entity that called itself the Lord of the Nations, that
inspired the mustachioed pawn and puppet and placed him at the apparent
reins, dictating his words and actions, and inebriating him, intoxicating him
with visions of puissance.
The nourishment it served was fine and rare: mysticism, ideal, greatness of
the pure civilized race, organized prosperity, glorious future.
By virtue of an exemplary collective discipline, a great cleansing would be
accomplished, high lessons would be taught and the keys would be seized of
a measured, impeccable, irresistible development of the superior race.
A superman devoid of love, triumphantly separated from the vaster unity, a
superman without truth.

15
For this particular lord entity wanted first and foremost to secure its grip on
the Earth – the site of evolution.
And when its instruments met with unyielding resistance in humanity and its
strategy was derailed by the sword of a Light it recognized, it had to
withdraw – but, doing so, it swore to take its revenge.

Such entities do not wish to incarnate here in this terrestrial material reality,
but only to feed indefinitely upon it, to influence and dominate it, to keep it
separated and at its mercy and, to that end, to prevent it from evolving
towards its own unique realization of the One, of the Divine, of the manifest
Supreme.
They have their seat primarily in one or the other of the vital worlds, but
they also operate in domains of the Mind and at times have an innate
access, by a kind of ancient right or privilege, to planes of the Overmind.

For, in this very world, in this physical and material condition which we
believe to be the only one to exist, upon this Earth where we sojourn in
these vulnerable mortal bodies, concretization is irreversible: what is done
cannot be undone, one cannot go back in time, two objects cannot occupy
the same space, every experience is direct and precise and generates
objective consequences within an immeasurable interactive complexity and
each human being must perforce learn to make a choice at every moment.

While the other worlds offer divers degrees of flexibility, of instantaneous

creativity, of almost infinite simultaneities, our material world here is
unbending in its exactitude as in its laws.
But it holds a Grace which no other world possesses.
This is the secret of terrestrial evolution, this secret which one can reach or
attain nowhere else, of the reciprocal creative Grace manifesting in two
aspects = on the side of the human being, through the conscious creature’s
dignity and on the side of the Supreme, of the Fundament of all that is,
manifesting through Love.
And by this Grace the consciousness progresses.

16
But where is the dignity of those who callously exploit, without any regard or
respect, those who plunder and who rape?

This terrestrial Nature that has given us everything, its blood, its milk, its
eggs and its fruits, its fibers and its grains, its sap and its honey and its
water of vigor, its stones and its minerals and its gold and its infinite beauty
– what have we returned to it?

This incomparable possibility of co-creation, of solidarity, of shared

conscious evolution, what have we done of it?

We have eviscerated, pillaged, exhausted and poisoned it, we have stifled it

with our practices and choked it with our inert and separate objects.

Thus, is not the vengeance of the shadow spread out in every part, laid
bare, demonstrated?

Is not the very possibility of continuity compromised?

2
The new predators

The Second World War had barely ended that a number of other devastating
conflicts were fired on all the continents = massacres, partitions, interfaith
wars, fratricides and genocides were sprouting like a virulence, while
humanity itself set to wildly and inexplicably proliferate.

The colonial powers now weakened, faced with the untamable resilience of
those peoples they had presumed to conquer with their supposedly superior
civilizing values, had to renounce their ill-acquired empires and withdraw,
not without imprinting their marks and signatures in the soils and the bloods
– rules and laws and narrow hypocritical morals and arbitrary borders drawn
hastily so as to distribute among themselves future access to natural riches
and resources.
A new world order was seeking to impose itself, with the wealthiest and best
equipped nations taking on the role of gendarmes – with an eye on profit –
and competing in cunning so as, using lesser nations as pawns, to
consolidate their respective control over the mineral and fossil sources
required for their own maintenance and development.

It is in times of war that scientific research is best funded, its main mission
the discovery and perfecting of new means of augmenting one’s autonomy
and survival capacities on the one hand and, on the other, of increasing
one’s attacking and destructing or retaliating power.
Thus, the perfecting of the power to neutralize and to harm made
spectacular progress, along with the enabling means of secret
communication.

But in times of peace, the cost of the manufacture and industry of all the
new ever more sophisticated weapons and instruments becomes prohibitive
and they must be turned into profitable ventures, selling to the highest
bidder – or the most deserving, depending on the political perspective.

18
With the rise of a multitude of young nations, the formidable demographic
leap and the increasing immediacy of the new technologies of
communication, the morals of exploitation and profit became law and normal
conduct – shared by the majority -, a principle of existence and a language
common to all contemporary societies, defeating all wisdoms.

All sorts of predators grew on an increasingly fertile ground of opportunities.

Sustained observation of behaviors and their assessment in terms of

potential mining became crucial to the creation of new goods and tools and
their markets.

The individual pursuit of happiness, an already ignorant, reductive and

misleading proposition, further deteriorated, by rapid increments, into the
pursuit of material comfort: the acquisition of each of the material
components of an image being projected worldwide without let.

We now know that this physical reality which we apprehend through our
senses is but a degree or level or state of an infinitely more complex
material reality.
The more we learn about Matter and its conditions and the more,
paradoxically, its mystery expands and deepens.

As our methods and instruments of observation are further refined and we

become able to appreciate other laws and underlying behaviors –
unperceived by our senses -, we are tempted to make use of them, to draw
some advantage from them and improve our lot.

It is the motive of the quest that determines the knowledge one will acquire.

It seems evident that, if one steals into this multiple material reality with the
intention of extracting the means of creating the perfect weapon, or if one

19
approaches and explores this same multidimensional reality with the
aspiration and the need to discern the means of serving and establishing a
progressive terrestrial harmony, the observations and records one will have
made on the way will not be the same.

And yet one cannot destroy without having identified the laws that rule
cohesion, just as one cannot build without having grasped the laws that rule
disintegration.
And here lies the ambiguity of science.
An ambiguity which necessarily implies every researcher as every
discoverer’s responsibility.

The three degrees of the Yoga of the Earth =

- To serve the lasting good of the whole of humanity.
- To serve the advent of an enlightened humanity, converted to the
Truth, as a guarantee for the progressive equilibrium of the entire
terrestrial Nature.
- To serve the Supreme in its manifestation.

Malfeasance

Rivers and oceans have become our refuse bins.

Where is the horror?

Where is the awakening?

This year, 2018, in Kerala, the southernmost State in the Indian peninsula,
during the month of August, unprecedented floods took place – considerably
aggravated by the “human factor”: unregulated construction along the
water bodies, defective management of dams and choking of run-offs.
The tons and tons of accumulated rubbish piled at the bottom of the rivers,
ponds, basins and channels, were lifted up and borne every which way,
mingling with crumbling soil, uprooted trees and fragments of collapsed
buildings, broken vehicles and machinery.

In the United States, in Canada, in New-Zealand, forests continue to burn.

What is the source, or the cause, of this collective blindness?

How have we come to this state of monstrosity, how have we turned into
these harmful creatures that pullulate all over the Earth and vitiate its
atmosphere and devour, parasite and disrupt its entire organism?

A human being and a horse, a human being and a wolf, or a dolphin, a tree
or a garden, can together learn to recognize and respect and love one
another, to grow one by the other, one with the other, one from the other.

21
We say – according to these experiences we qualify as “spiritual”- that
veritable love is unconditional.
But love is the supreme condition, love is supremely intolerant, since
nothing exists as much as love does.

However mankind has rather learnt to dominate, tame, enslave and

domesticate those species it deemed inferior but from which it could draw
some advantage.
In so doing, it is yet possible for the shepherd and the sheep to learn from
and mutually appreciate one another.

Isn’t the instinct of mastery inherent to mankind, by which it forever seeks

to dominate its environment, the expression of an intention of Nature in its
evolutionary impetus?
Yet this instinct, in order to accomplish its goal and fulfill its function, must
unite to its superior foundation, that of a wisdom effectively able to guide
and to govern, truly serving the manifestation.

The human being acquires its dignity only by self-knowledge and self-
mastery.
Only then can it watch over the general good.

One who does not have self-mastery is but a shadow of oneself.

One then is dominated, led like a slave by one’s own impulses, wants and
desires, by the others, by the image they reflect.

It is the gravity of the guts.

It is the condition of the herd.

22
Nowadays the predators have greatly perfected the shepherd’s abilities –
human masses are potential sources of profit.

To take

When and how did violence become unavoidable?

If you prevent me from obtaining or accessing what is indispensable to me,

you force me to exert pressure on you till you yield.

Separation.
The ego.

Whatever Nature is not willingly offering to us, we must therefore tear it

from her.

5
Imbalance

Nearly eight billions of human beings.

Phenomena and consequences are studied: they are named, classified,
labeled and assessed; one defines, comments and predicts them.
One specializes.

Is there, in time and space, a single existence devoid of violence?

Is there a single power that can act without violence?

Yes.
The Force of Harmony.
The Force of Healing.
True Beauty.
Truth.

Moral violence, State-violence, emotional violence – and physical violence.

From wild, primal and impulsive violence to deliberate, organized,
legitimized violence, lies this process which we name “civilization”.

Would the progress of consciousness be possible without violence or

suffering?
Could consciousness ever awaken from its inert torpor of material creature
without the shock of pain or the horror that lights in it the flame of an
aspiration and a call towards a higher, fuller and truer existence?

25
If the cause, purpose and aim of this material incarnation, of this sojourn in
the physical world, are but one – to become conscious of the Divine -, does
it follow that everything happening to us, absolutely everything, tragedies
and triumphs, joys and miseries, must be accepted as an aid?

But how many are they, these human beings who, today itself, experience
that need, the need to become conscious of the Divine?

In relation to the future health and equilibrium of the Earth, is humanity

partly or largely dispensable?

All soils are not suitable for all seeds.

With time and the diversification of human activities, sciences have been
elaborated, developed, defined and situated.

What one perhaps knew without thoughts or words now requires and
demands all sorts of calculations, references, categorizations and
classifications in order to present a range of explanations and advanced or
informed guesses.

Could humanity have actually become a rogue species?

This happens: with the sudden intrusion of molecular or chemical products

or associations into a given milieu, a myriad of extraordinary phenomenal
reactions occur; thus a variety of algae abruptly propagating itself may
swiftly suffocate a maritime environment.
Or it may be the subtle intrusion of forces and influences into
consciousnesses that ruptures their collective balance and perverts or
destabilizes their relation to their natural milieu and environment.

26
Are time and space – space-time, spaces-times – more than one, more than
two, more than several, are they infinitely numerous?
Are they simultaneous, parallel, interdependent?
Do they ride, cross, influence one another?

And from here, from this body and this matter, concrete and perishable, can
we have access to these other dimensions?
Can these other realities have access to ours?
Is there exchange, is there exploitation?
Is collaboration possible?

Look at these kids absorbed by the vagaries of a virtual violence so

sovereign that only those internalized sensations it triggers and stimulates
remain real – bodies are forgotten, human distress, sorrow and fear and
pleasure, everything is recuperated by the frantic, endlessly varied setting,
direction and enactment of violence: there is no more horror, no more
awakening, there is only all-powerful, magical nourishment.

Look at these adults unreservedly engrossed in the market of sex images

they can no longer live without, have they not forgotten how to give, how to
offer themselves, how to celebrate the human care and tenderness in
Matter?

How many are we not who no longer wish anything but to be caught and
captured, exempted from responsibility, so we may forget the want that
reigns in our lives?

Thus can one select one’s preferred drug, one’s brand of hypnosis and
possession, so as to “pass the time”, so as to no longer be this hollow shell,
this wandering wreck, this dull day and this absence that never end, or
these dramas so heavy and so vain that one wants to run.

Pralaya

Our animal life, from the instant of our expulsion from the womb, is
furrowed with violence, beginning with the violence of our needs, appetites
and cravings which dominates our physical consciousness till its instruments
develop – and propel us in fields of forces where compete and clash all sorts
of wills seeking to impose themselves.

But every imposition is a violence, be it institutional, clannish, moral,

emotional, intellectual or physical.

And it is in terms of violence that we learn to make use of our personal will,
violence is the measure of its effectiveness = even when we are convinced
of acting for the good.

It is only when one unites with one’s psychic consciousness that one may
withdraw from all violence and let the Force of Harmony act.

And the only imposition free of violence is that of the true Consciousness, for
it bears its own evidence, unalterable, indivisible, whole and contraryless.

Violence may as well be passive: one is its blinded instrument, one commits
a violation unwittingly.
So does the entrepreneur who lets the toxic effluents pour out from his
factory into the river, who is himself under the violent pressures being
exerted on his own resources and his limited capacity of discernment and
choice.

It would seem at present – is it a terrestrial battle, a general conflict, a

frenetic race, or is it rather the transition to another equilibrium? – that our

28
destiny is being waged between a coalition of destructive forces and the
consciously chosen collaboration of the forces of harmony.

But our appreciation of the situation is largely determined by our subjective

experience of time.

And of death.

The rhythms of Time.

The Pralaya.
Universal pulsations, creations, expansions, destructions, re-absorptions…
the germ of Life, the buried civilizations, the limitless past, history always
renewed : have we now arrived to the edge of the great precipice?

There is yet a state of consciousness wherein one knows with absolute

certainty that energy and matter are one, indivisible and infinite – that the
tender moss at the base of the tree, the gently rushing torrent, the sea-shell
against your skin, are eternal and, even destroyed, continue to exist and will
be reborn in matter, ever new assemblages of relations in the consciousness
one and without bounds.

But there it is: there is a sense and there is a necessity to the progress of
our consciousnesses.
Your hatred is a grimace that searches for its truth.
Your contempt, your crudeness, are wounds on our living body.
My harshness is a mask that fears the mixture of the obscure.

We must learn, learn as one single being, our lesson.

One single being.

We must recover love in Matter.

Now.

29
Earth is grievously injured and hurt: down deep into its innards it must
endure the noxious effects of our ravages.
Would we, could we still tend it and heal it and see that it recovers its
balance and its integrity, cleanse its atmosphere and, at last, give it all the
love it deserves from us.

Sentimentalism? Anthropomorphism?

Today, wherever we may live upon this wondrous planet, we know in and
with our bodies the scale of its anger, of its rage, of its impatience – or of its
distress?
We have seen and felt and sensed it heave and shake, erupt and rush and
mow and trample everything, dislodge, uproot, pulverize and grind
mercilessly.

But whatever may be the occult chronicles of vanished continents, of very

ancient accomplished societies that succumbed to their own vice and
partiality, or the cellular memories of an epoch without any hurt or discord
when all creatures of all species could mutually recognize one another and
the human being stood like a promise, and whether it all occurred a hundred
or a thousand times, never has there been anywhere such a formidable
acceleration – towards a convergence, or a conflagration?
The human species so spread out and populous, so actively harmful, so very
contradictory, so very near to discovery and transformation, as to defeat and
disintegration, never has it occurred anywhere, but here and now.

Yes indeed, Earth can destroy us all with but a flick of its will, one sees that,
or it can make this material existence so harsh and hard that our present
organisms will not be able to adapt: we are destroying it, it is destroying us
– is this only about it and us, about mankind and the earth, about the failure
of an evolutionary association?

30
Earth and its forces, Nature and its forces, the forces of Matter and those
subtle forces, unperceived by our senses, that sustain and feed Matter – is it
really just about it and “us”?

To the ruins and rubble of our wars will then be added those of Earth’s final
vengeance – is it not this taste of dust everywhere that inexorably seems to
us to be most probable?

And then?

Between the infinite resources of energy in Matter and those of the energy in
surviving terrestrial Nature, new molecular combinations, original encounters
and associations, other sub-atomic behaviors will contribute to the formation
of new organisms and all the inert debris of the past will be decomposed and
then, who knows, there will perhaps be another attempt at incarnating and
manifesting Consciousness?

But how have we come to this pass?

Have we actually, really grasped the solidarity of all that is?

To what extent are we the impuissant preys and puppets of those adjacent
planes which constantly influence us?

The baits

The entities, or groups of entities, that feed on our emotional discharges and
feast on our terror and our extreme pleasure, are also our purveyors of
intensity and this is indeed how we become their playthings.
Without their intervention, interference and injections of vital influx, we
seem to be abandoned to a gloomy, tedious and senseless existence or to
the slavish endless demands and gross necessities of an aimless and
sparkless life.

We would perhaps wish to believe that it is but a matter of energy flow and
exchange – we emit, we receive, is this not how everything works?
Yet, the more our dependence increases and the more alienated we are from
our consciousness and the deafer to its call.

To have more, to acquire and possess more, to enjoy and profit more… one’s
right to comfort, pleasure and entertainment…
In this fashion, one’s well-being is measured by the amount of owned
objects – soon to be thrown, discarded and replaced in the unceasing pursuit
of more perfect yield and efficiency.
An immense moving chain is gradually capturing all of us living human
beings.

The manipulation of others, their objectification and exploitation, has

become the norm; to make one’s career of it is normal and respectable.

Obscene fortunes are thus amassed and the power of action conferred by
wealth and money is placed in the hands of the new miserable, who are
slaves to the images that move them, the ambitions that propel them and
the stated intentions that serve them as profiling banners.

32
*

Is there today a single nation that be at once free and capable of managing
its own resources, its own economy, and the harmony of its own society?

Those nations that are “great” or “puissant” are only so at the detriment of
other, less arrogant ones, which they speedily ransack or “protect”
conditionally, or they only become so, like India, at the expense of their own
inner culture and natural riches, emulating the model of success
promulgated by the West and throwing their population to the shepherds of
the world market.

The space and milieu of international “negotiations” is that of a deleterious

dynamics of mutual pressure, blackmail, extortion, threat and false promise.
Thus all the nations, preys and predators, rally, bend and bow under the flag
of “progress”, the flattering appellation for a criminal development devoid of
love and vision.

As of today, two very small countries appear to be escaping the dictates of

this frantic race, Bhutan and Costa-Rica.
However, Bhutan is coveted by China, which seeks to consolidate its
territorial dominance all around India and depends partly on India for its
energy sources insofar as its people, recently emancipated from an ancient
monarchy, is now demanding access to the contagious array of goods and
facilities of “modern life”.
Costa-Rica stands rightly proud, having kept its integrity while renouncing
any armament; its denizens practice the respect and care of Nature and, to
a major extent, of every individual human being’s fundamental rights.
These are two dots on the map of the Earth, two minuscule enclaves of
health and well-being.

Here and there and everywhere

One searches and searches on – looking, seeing, feeling, seizing, grasping

all one can, one searches for this one single common point of transmission,
this point of direct, immediate, universal communication, or at least human,
this threshold, this instant opening through which the Harmony of the True,
the true harmony, may pass and flow, circulate, act and manifest in all the
consciousnesses at once and, through them, in the circumstances of the
Earth.

One searches and searches on, how to serve this saltus, this transit and this
seeding, how to hasten it.

One well understands that an unshakable, unalterable calm, an irreversible

equality, are indispensable for this service.
A sovereign impersonality, established and wholly offered, must already rule
all the movements and activities of the being.

But, as one is still so far and separate from It, one is tempted to… to
what?... to renounce, to give up? No, but, knowing the imperfection of one’s
condition, to nonetheless try and serve, without having obtained this
realization, without having changed enough yet!!!
Because the urgency seems to grow almost by the day if not by the hour –
and one prays for the undoing and dissolution of the very possibility of
destruction: of an immeasurable loss and waste from the point of view of the
consciousness emitted and of the experience in Matter on the path of
Evolution.

No doubt, human nature has long striven to conciliate its appetites and
greeds with its intelligence and its sense of balance – and its practices of
dominance and allegiance, or submission, of exploitation and dependency, of
seduction and subterfuges, are so ancient and tested that they seem eternal
and incontrovertible.

34
But what has never occurred before is for such a living mass of humanity to
be made entirely vulnerable to a concerted exploitation of its creature wants
and instincts.

We are all each of us prisoners of our respective context = it is our context

that determines our comprehension and appreciation of the state of the
world – and of our position relative to it.
Consenting and even grateful prisoners we are, since this context, whichever
it may be, at once protects us and gives us structure and definition.

If some breaches happen to tear our immediate horizon, they allow us to

believe that our ignorance is thus somewhat mitigated, tempered and
corrected by the sudden glimpses they give us of the vaster world and of its
dangers = my husband, who must often go on tours of duty and returns
each tine burdened with nightmares, the refugee ahead of me who does not
understand the price of a baguette, the prostitute child who hails me from
the shadow of a recessed entryway, the livid disheveled hulk who barges
into my ashram, the river in spate that suddenly carries floating corpses, the
flank of the hill that brutally splits and flounders at the end of my village…

Open societies

Sometimes, disorder is a gift and a chance, insofar as it arouses or elicits an

opening and a call.
- “O Lord, let Truth reign, I no longer want anything but Thee, what
Thou wantest…!” – (to be translated according to languages and
cultures, the differences in formulation do not matter).

From the inner standpoint, democracy is a sorry solution, since it gives

ignorance the Right to dominate by the numbers.
Yet, while the “Vox Populi” is often the expression of the most obscure,
dumbest and heaviest instincts, it is also at times deeper and clearer than
the voice of the ambitious, greedy and arrogant self-driven types; but only
an awakened and disinterested consciousness may distinguish between the
sources of its dynamics and seek to work for the good of the whole.

Those who are elected – by “the people” – are so on the basis of promises
they will never be in a position to keep, contracting debts they will never be
able to repay honorably: and thus will they have to let themselves be bought
one way or another (reasonably, courteously, or more bluntly and crudely).

Those who actually govern are “the others”, the industry tycoons, the
financiers, the big entrepreneurs and media barons – and the members of
the grey occult area who occupy the less visible part of the State edifice and
do not depend on the will of the citizens, forming the administrative
hierarchy that can modulate the flows of power.

There are also, almost anonymous and bound to watch and observe, the
servitors of the people, of the nation or of the soul of the country, those who
have been trained in respect and integrity, in the discipline of service, the
sense of duty, the preservation of the founding values and the defense of
the homeland. They are those who truly bear the collective banner.

36
Where then can be found the potential agents of the necessary change –
change of collective comprehension and orientation – so that the continuity
of terrestrial evolution may be ensured?
Can one recognize them?

Appearances are sometimes shelters.

A society can be coherent and progressive only if each of its members is

aware of one’s status as a subject amongst other subjects and of one’s share
of responsibility before all the divers questions that arise. For only then can
everyone participate in the orientations and help carry out the collective
choices.

What then is a secular society?

The fundaments of a just society, capable of evolving in consciousness as in

practice, are so very simple =
- Each one is free to choose one’s religion, without ever imposing it in
any way on others.
- Each one is free to choose one’s sexuality, without ever abusing of
anyone else.
- Each one is free to choose one’s quest, without ever in any way
harming others.
- Each one is free to choose one’s activity, without ever compromising
others’ freedom.

The battle

What is this growth madness that has seized upon the human species?
What is its evolutionary significance?
How to find the balance, the right proportion, the progressive relation
between the number of bodies and instruments and the consciousness that
animates them?
Who is progressing?
How to assimilate this almost innumerable myriad of simultaneous
experiences?
Is it a training? Who benefits from it? Who is learning?

Once one has passed the threshold of the new birth, gradually and little by
little the contours and details of this personality one had constructed this
time over loose of their importance.
Or, rather, it is their importance as an identity that unravels, while they
acquire a new importance in terms of exactness, transparency and fidelity in
the expression of the inner consciousness and its action.

The ego is no longer of interest but only presents obstacles to the unification
of the being and, through the habits its formation had generated, to the
conversion of the most material consciousness.
One must learn everything all over again – offering everything rather than
affirming one’s separate existence.
There are then no more limits to our progress, other than those persisting
habits of giving up and dying.

Those great Adversaries in the manifestation, without whose conversion

harmony will not be able to reign upon earth, how do they proceed?

Had not thus one of them, this Lord of Falsehood or Lord of the Nations,
declared to Her who had succeeded in foiling his plan of action of which
Hitler was the prime pivot, when She met him then and reminded him that

38
his end was approaching and the time of his surrender was announced, that,
yes indeed he knew it, but that in the meantime he would destroy all he
could…?

“This one, the Lord of Falsehood… for the human consciousness, these
things are terrible, but from up there, it makes one smile. I remember
during the war, when I met him (I had just demolished his work with Hitler,
then I met him), then I told him: “you well know that your time is over.” He
said : “I know it well, but I will destroy as much as I can till I disappear.”
Child babble!...” Extract from the Mother’s Agenda.

If one attempted to hypothetically conceive the most meticulous and

ingeniously elaborated project of destruction of the very site of the
evolution, making the most cunning and judicious usage of all the forces at
play in humanity and in Nature, would not one be led to observe its exact
realization in progress upon Earth right here and now!!?

For one cannot merely accept the thesis of a world-wide plot being hatched
by some constellation of hidden puissances that may even appear
benevolent, even though it may well have been a recurring case through
history and remain pertinent in a number of contemporary specific contexts:
indeed in actuality it is the totality of what we manifest which seems to be
inexorably used and exploited by a single devastating will and push,
whatever may be our indignations and our most realistic assessments and
our most innocent dreams of progress.

Therefore, how to effectively put oneself at the service of the true Force? –
without telling oneself any comforting tales or complacently conjuring new
heroic self-images imbued with chivalry and borrowed wisdom?

Are we even able to grasp how the true Force works?

What She or It expects of us, of each one of us?

39
Can one single human being, one single living human body, inhabited with
well-tempered and refined qualities and capacities, today, serve as the
instrument of world domination?

China’s strongman, Xi Jinping, who has managed to establish his power in an

almost absolute way, stands at the head of the largest demographic
puissance, the undisputed leader of a largely consenting people, obedient,
disciplined and proud of its achievements; China’s progression upon the
entire earth is unparalleled and its greed – for land and strategic resources –
seems that of an insatiable giant.
Yet its immense machinery can quickly jam if exposed to different
approaches and ethics proponing freedom of choice and the need for
personal individual, conscious integrity.

It would presently seem that all applied scientific discoveries have, sooner or
later, harmful and deleterious effects on the environment, on Nature as a
whole and on all living bodies – from nuclear fission to asbestos sheeting,
from combustion engines to heating plates -, either directly or through the
exploitation they necessitate.

Why?
Does this mean that all scientific approach and “knowledge” are to be
condemned or feared?
Or is it the indication of a wrong position of our consciousness?

Under cover of a world culture acceptable to all, since its declared aim is to
enrich, enhance, ease and perfect everyone’s life, all demons come out of
their lairs, emerge from the subconscience and expose themselves in every
place and at every moment.

And why not?

After all, one must at last see them for what they are and move on…!

40
But they are voracious indeed and will not cease from sating and
reproducing themselves, meeting such acquiescence in our damaged nature
as they do.

The physical body of this individuality that has become conscious of the one
true and permanent Presence, awakens to a wholly new learning and
training process, as yet fragile and vulnerable, but filled with a silent light
and a nascent joy.

But the work to be done and the way to be trod in order to attain to this
physical state of unfettered, conscious plenitude that is sensed or divined
like a beckoning, awaiting future, seem at once so concrete and so
formidable that even the most developed mental and vital faculties appear
futile: this progress can only be accomplished by the action of the true
Consciousness-Force.

For the consciousness of the body, as it awakens, understands more and

more clearly that, to become able to physically manifest this Presence in the
infinite play of its diversity, one must necessarily come out of the animality:
one must no longer be dependent on all the functions and organs of our
developed animal bodies to exist in the material world, but replace them
with more direct modes of functioning for the absorption and emission of
energy, for the constant renewal of the cells, the progressive perfecting and
the free prolongation of the material form as for its chosen disappearance or
disintegration.

No doubt, this objective is still distant but, here and there and most often
unexpectedly, the signs and glimpses of this possible future do suddenly rise
in a multitude of fleeting, singular and partial experiences that are yet
profoundly moving and unforgettable.

The eyes of the body

May this love be worthy of the eternal.

Let not this action in any way betray the infinite trust in the eyes of the
child.
May this emotion, may this thought be free of any shame.
Let nothing hide any longer, may all these movements find the courage to
stand in the light.

How to achieve the decrease and then the stabilization of the human
populations?
Without violence or imposition, but through shared understanding, through
solidarity, through a common commitment to serve a durable terrestrial
harmony?

From all sides and reaching well into our privacy, we are ceaselessly pushed,
stirred, incited and motivated to want more and to further conform to the
images that govern us.
Why is it not Truth that we beseech to reign?
Why is it not Truth that we entrust with our destinies and that of the Earth?

Our skills and techniques have now provided us with the means of instant
communication – the means, therefore, to progress rapidly and all together
towards a more harmonious condition; and yet something blinds us.
Controlled from within ourselves by the routine of greed and covetousness,
we are reduced and formatted, live objects bereft of discernment, haunted
by the brevity of our existence, allured by the toys of forgetfulness.

To shift the new infrastructures away from the cities, to decentralize

responsibilities, to re-distribute all riches, to ensure the even spreading of
information and diffusion of knowledge, to encourage permanent education,
stimulate practical research and initiative and to actively support every step

42
towards the equilibrium and harmony of terrestrial existence – have we need
of politicians and their programs to open up those paths wherever we are?

The body would wish to have the time to learn; it asks not for immortality,
but only for the possibility to discover and to learn the new way of being
physical, of being material, of being conscious in Matter.

The body aspires to no longer depend on anything but That, the Presence,
the “Divine” – concretely, at every moment.
To no longer depend on all these intermediaries, all these functions, these
heavy relationships, these separate organizations of matter and of life – to
be free to shine and radiate, to give, accompany and celebrate and able to
nourish oneself and renew the energies necessary to one’s upkeep and
progressive perfecting by the direct absorption of the nectar secreted under
the Force’s pressure.
And to let gradually atrophy the organs that become obsolete, while the cells
begin to practice new assemblages and associations.

If the vital being does relish a feast of food and, once more refined, will find
a sort of cultured joy in tasting haute-cuisine, the body itself, its
consciousness once awakened to the contact of the Presence, wishes to have
no other need but the need of That, even for its cellular subsistence, for it
feels now certain that this possibility only waits for a clear “yes” in Matter.

Constantly with the food we ingest we absorb the inertia, the interferences
and the debts and the slavery, the subconscience, the fear and all the
constrained energies of the efforts expended; it is only by offering the food
before and during its ingestion, offering it consciously to the Source of all
that is and receiving it thus consecrated as the expression of That which
supports and sustains all with Its Energy and Its Grace, that the obscure
weight of this external nourishment can partly be dissolved.

When a family of modest farmers cultivates its own fields, orchard and
kitchen-garden and each day selects what its members will consume,

43
relatively little interference and tension intervenes: there is balance and
health and a kind of natural gratefulness for the abundance and goodness of
the earth and the body, once replete, has no regret.
But can one even realize the sheer, formidable sequence of operations that
precedes this instant when one buys a “hotdog” at the nearest “MacDonald”
outlet?

Indeed one becomes aware, with a degree of awe, to what extent and
degree our activities and most of our movements are effectively determined
by our animal impulses, instincts and functions.

Identified in our physical consciousness with the animal body, we must

perforce feed, clothe (since in the passage to humankind our bodies have
lost the capacity of thermal adaptation) and shelter ourselves day in and day
out and, during the entire active adult period of our existence, we must also
procreate and reproduce.

Of course, unlike the other mammals, we are provided and equipped with a
more developed vital instrument and with an immaterial mental instrument
which influences and bears upon the terms of our physical and emotional
existence and strives to fashion us according to its more powerful,
adventurous and glorious image of the thinking master of the Earth.

But in actuality it is the array of our animal necessities that determines the
edification of our way of life, our societies and institutions, our commerce,
industry and economy.

And what would happen to our philosophies if we were actually free of these
needs?

The sublimation of desires and pleasures, the aesthetics of the senses, the
ennobling of emotions and feelings, the discipline and illumination of
thought, the acquisition of knowledge, the education and development of
faculties and aptitudes, all of these pursuits and explorations allow us to

44
somewhat distanciate ourselves in our consciousness and experience from
the immediacy of corporeal animal needs.

For indeed, through the ages, we have been bound as if by a subtle cord to
a model or template of the ideal human being which acts like a magnet, a
measure, a reference, an arbiter and a god.

And yet today, this very ideal mo longer suffices.

We require an answer at once more central and more direct, vaster and
higher.

45
12
The role of disorder

Just as, amongst our billions of bodies and personalities co-existing upon
this Earth riches are unequally shared or distributed – whether it be
intellectual, vital and physical gifts, talents and capacities or material
possessions and money -, so it is as regards Consciousness.
For, although the Presence supports and sustains all that is and inhabits the
flower and the star as the lioness and the elderly man seated on the bench,
Consciousness does not move evenly in all forms and instruments.
Its increase proceeds at the rhythm and pace of the incarnated inner
experience.
This process depends neither on outer circumstances, nor on education, age,
social position, comfort, blood, kind or race.
This growth is akin to that of a fragile spark that becomes, through the
vicissitudes of numerous lifetimes, a great and puissant flame that quietly
radiates.

It is only when the individual ego draws near to the inner discovery that an
attentive, consecrated and integral education and a harmonious environment
serving the awakening of the whole being become major assets, aids and
agents of conscious evolution.
For it is only then that the habitual equilibrium ruled by the ego begins to
give way to the progressive unification of the entire being around the
conscious experience.

Thus it is that in every country of the world are living individuals who are
conscious – of the Real, of the Presence, of That, of the Divine, words matter
not.
And yet, which people is seeking them out within its bosom to hand them
the means of serving the Good and the True?

All our systems only reflect the images of our insufficiencies, fissures and
contradictions.

46
Donald Trump is a caricature – comical, pitiful, repulsive, cunning and
deceitful – of our greedy cowardice, our sick passion for power and money,
which has nonetheless been elected as its representative by the youngest
and most creative and innovative people amongst us all, now trapped by its
own truncated methods and particular demons.
Such monstrosities are lowing and roaring upon every one of the present
battlefields in every direction.

Who is on watch?
Who benefits?

Who knows the path?

Who contains it and all the paths and all the ways?

It sometimes happens that a madcap, an idiot or a part-genius opens a gap

or a breach into the net of our compromised, if not corrupted, systems and
codes, causing the collapse of all our calculated expectations and that a
great disorder ensues – which is a door to other possibilities.

Donald Trump is a precipitating agent.

However, in the absence of a corresponding awakening, the resulting chaos

can only be destructive.

For this chaos to act as yeast and silt yielding a vaster and superior order,
there must be on all sides an opening of the inner eye, the eye that sees.
The Question must be faced = what is it that truly matters, what really are
our priorities, what destinies do we wish for?

We know that reason and attachment can between them justify everything
and its contrary and we can observe that we are thus rendered incapable of
discerning truth, justice and the sense of the evolutionary process.

47
And it is this very incapacity that can make us the playthings of interested
forces.

Is there actually a tentacular adversary operating in all fields and on multiple

fronts simultaneously, whose aim and objective are to prevent any veritable
progress of consciousness on a terrestrial scale, as such a progress would
sign its end?

Between the continuing erosion of the protective atmospheric sheath of the

Earth and the orchestrated hypnosis of consumerism at all costs, this
adversary who would destroy the way and prevent the advent and
incarnation of a truly higher Consciousness, appears to detain formidable
advantages, with the leisure to contemplate the final rout.

Nevertheless, despite all the damage and refuse, the anguish, disgust, terror
and misery which we keep secreting, we are touching, in our collective
human awareness, progresses that are irreversible and the release from
very ancient yokes.

The horror that grips us at the sight of a river choking asphyxiated by

mounds of garbage, frothing with murky toxic wash, its banks littered with
corpses entangled in the remains of our feasts – long live our democracies,
let everyone by right have a part of the cake -, this horror, does it awaken
us to the true Consciousness?

A dead cow lying on the roadside with a burst belly from which hang shreds
of plastic, the brutal yaw of an abandoned mine, the little girl torn out by
mortar: what can our courts and tribunals, our laws and conventions, our
prisons, ever do?
It is an altogether other reign that we need, a reign intolerant of falsehood.

***

48
13
The degrees of Unity

Are we not all, each of us human beings, tools and instruments of this
adversary – to varying degrees, more or less apparent, more or less
wittingly, with more or less consequence?

Is this not also one of the secrets of unity?

For indeed, if we look within ourselves, to the root of our motivations,

desires, self-serving defenses, impulses and reasonings, if we look
unwaveringly with the will and aspiration to see what is actually there, do we
not find the same negation, the same dizzying attraction for the shadow and
its intensities?

And it is thus that, once we accept to see, we touch upon the lever of a
great change = this is why the adversary requires a humanity which remains
as averaged, conditioned and self-obsessed as possible, simply because any
awakened being slips from its grip.

Those who deliberately manipulate applied technologies in order to control

the greatest number, who install deep in the web the active octopus of the
ever more complex and fascinating sites of perversion, those who utilize the
experimental sciences so as to perfect the mastery – at least temporarily –
of genetic, molecular and atomic processes, those who ensconce themselves
intimately crouching in wait in the weft of financial nets, or those who
bargain their inventiveness to the highest bidders without a care for the
consequences, are sensibly more responsible than most of us.

But this solidarity of the dark, this coalition of the guts and the fear, holds all
of us in its fist, so long as we each fail to do our work of offering, so long as
we do not take a stand, so long as we do not chose not to lie, not to yield,
not to betray any more.

49
If, as some states of consciousness show us, everything, absolutely
everything that has ever been manifested continues to exist, as if indelibly
recorded and eternally present, is there a Force – of Consciousness,
Existence and Joy – that is able to watch over a new creation upon this earth
and to lead it to a shared reality entirely free of the contradictions brought
about by separation?

Love? The Force of Love?

But which sort of love?

It is said that those who are responsible for the disorder and disharmony are
those who must work at restoring order and harmony or at establishing a
new equilibrium, superior and sovereign.

However, if we soon learn, in our laboratories, to trigger new atomic or

molecular associations, at once stable and active, that would for instance
decompose materials become inert so as to help repairing and cleansing the
environment and to restore a more welcoming and durable terrestrial milieu,
do we not run the risk of thereby initiating some other unpredictable process
which we will not be able to master?

Are new enzyme or new microbes going to constitute the clean-up armies,
crumbling to dust our millions of dented bidets, billions of rusted broken
down vehicles, our mountains of diapers?

Does an absolute evil exist?

What is the point of getting indignant, of condemning, what is even the point
of comparing?

50
*

Spiritual birth reveals that the One is in everything, sustains all, contains all
- that nothing exists outside the One.

And so, when one falls back in the ordinary consciousness, shattered but not
yet really different, the great Question, like an involuntary grimace, soon
arises again = how is it that this world may be so sordid and hurtful, that
this humanity, however promising and ardent, may shelter and generate so
much ugliness and misery?

Yet, when one reflects upon it, even in our ignorance estranged from unity,
one must perforce accept the evidence = all manifestation must necessarily
include every possibility of opposition so as to be truly integral and
progressive.

Therefore, indeed, Evil is a possibility which must be explored until its

resolution.

For many centuries already, our experience of terrestrial human life takes
place in a double environment – the environment that Nature provides and
the built environment which is our second nature.
Since a few decades only, we have been acquiring and learning to cope with
a third milieu, the technological milieu, which is becoming a third nature
with its own functioning and requirements and its capacity to join and to
amplify as well as its power to rule and possess.

Would we still find traces of vanished civilizations and of their attempts to

govern the Earth, if we were able to search the folds and craters of sunken
continents?
Or is it that the multiform sub-marine life has seen to their utter
decomposition?

51
Is such submersion one of the resorts Earth is reserving itself – by some
slight shift of its tectonic plates and the melt and thaw of its polar ice, to
engulf and swallow all of our feats and creations?

Akin to infinity by its sheer immensity in relation to our size, our Earth is yet
accessible to our bodies: this relation from body to Body is one of the
conditions for the equilibrium without which incarnation is impossible.

Our own tiny little individual body, however infinitesimal to Earth’s eye, can
still travel, roam and journey over its sphere and a healthy human body can
actually walk all around it in its lifetime.

O, to live in this State of Unity, to know and experience the joy and the
surprise of incessant unwearying meeting and finding, within the infinity of
relationships in an infinite self-discovery…

Consciousness-Energy-Matter

All is Energy.
Energy, inexhaustible, illimitable, immeasurable and permanent, animates
all that is, visible or invisible, from the plankton to the galaxy, the blooming
of a peony to the sound of the cymbals, the dolphin piercing the foam to the
solar storm, it is all Energy expressing itself.
Energy is ceaseless, endless, omnipotent, and omnipresent.

Matter, then, is condensed energy.

As for us, who believe ourselves to be superior in the scale of visible

creatures, are we not actually ridiculously impotent, who depend on so many
operations and mechanisms to merely subsist, to preserve our bodies and to
store just an ounce of this Energy that bathes us all and moves everywhere
continuously without ever a halt or a break?

Why do we not find a more direct means, simpler and more conscious, of
remaining united to the Energy in proportion to our needs?
A movement, a cellular functioning, internal, immediate and adjustable or
tunable like a breath or an interior tongue tasting the elixir: why are we not
aware of it?

The humility of the seeker does not merely signify the lessening or
disappearance of the ego’s arrogance or sense of superiority upon the Earth,
but also a realization of the ungraspable scale of the forces contributing to
the material manifestation.

Is it Energy itself that chooses the forms of its expression, or is there an

intent, a design, a purpose, a direction?
A need?

53
A force of consciousness that produces or invokes the meeting of an outline,
of an idea of a form, with Energy, within the very bosom of what is already
manifest – such as an already functional material organism or body?

Is the space-time in which we are incarnated only a frequency of Energy, a

rung in the order of things?
We now know that other space-times exist side by side: can we learn to
move from one to another through consciousness?

It is no longer merely a matter of scientific curiosity or inquiry, or of an

intellectual fascination for the complexity of Reality: it is a matter of
survival.

And it is no longer a matter of the survival of the species alone, but of a yet
unknown passage to another, new incarnation of Consciousness.

There is, then, the Manifest and there is the Unmanifest, That which exists
within the forms and That which exists without any form.

When the identification with form has become more relative or less absolute,
less fundamental or essential, one may begin to wonder about the
advantages and the limitations of the human form = the inner consciousness
could as well, for instance, appreciate the form of a sphere.

But our human body holds and enfolds other secrets which we are yet to
discover, which we shall only discover, as the initiate of the legends, with
the right and true reverence of the egoless being.

The Force of the Way

This acceleration in terms of our situation as a species, this intensifying of

contraries, this increasing contamination, this devastating tide of humanity’s
numbers and of the consequences of its blindness seem, since the second
world war, drag us all and the entire creation towards an inexorable
disintegration.

For those who have for so long advocated the release from illusion and the
circle of births, this state of affairs would only confirm the vanity of our
belief in this material reality.

Simultaneously with the bringing down and trampling of all taboos as of all
moral and ethical railings, the East and the West met and seeded one
another, for better or for worse.

Techniques of awakening and self-finding cultivated through millennia of

research by India – at least those among them which could impress and
nourish the western psyche – have been in the span of a few decades
integrated in everyone’s thoughts.

Thus the chakras, centers of energy located in the subtle body, have become
common parlance throughout the world.
Even if still few are those who have concretely experienced the awakening
and rising of the snake of Kundalini from its coiled poise at the basis of the
spine up through every center till it pierces the lid atop the head to emerge
in the spiritual perception – few are they indeed because, without a guide,
this process can prove dangerous -, the very sense of this possibility is now
largely shared, although it remains limited for the majority to an attraction
for the extraordinary, the paranormal and the spectacular.

However, this double subtle circulation of energy corresponding to the nerve

centers and strategic glands of our human organisms is bound and presides
to the formation of the individual physical, vital and mental ego, that is to
say, to the present stage of our evolution.

55
When Kundalini awakens in a human being, an event triggered or obtained
through a persistent effort of concentration and strong intent, it opens up as
it rises, through plexus after plexus, the corresponding invisible worlds.
And if the primary intention is not pure enough, this can bring about or
produce an invasion of influences which the concerned individuality knows
not and cannot master.

The White Force, the Descending and transformative Force, on its part, is
love, unity and awareness.
At its touch and under its pressure, adoration spreads in the entire being
and the body itself experiences it as the one sure and concrete answer.

Being humans, our vessel is governed by the Mind.

Sometimes, rarely still, more inwardly motivated individuals succeed in

rising and uniting at the height of their consciousness with a spiritual
presence.
But, in our unchanged nature, we are alike the reflection of the Person in
troubled waters.

The true Person awaits.

And the Time has come.
This is the ultimate combat.

Since ever we hold the internal conviction that there exists a perfection of
ourselves and that mankind bears its entire and wholesome truth, even
though this conviction is ceaselessly and painfully negated.

This human being that one is, this humanity that we are, is it a Workshop?

56
Is it a marked site wherein one must wear out all shadows till one is ready,
prepared to turn to That which awaits and which is truly oneself, limpid,
whole and boundless, the great Adventurer of the morrow?

It had always seemed that, in order to be somehow worthy of accessing

spiritual experience, one had to renounce life, deny or disown all that it
holds and promises, its joys, enthusiasms, its innocence and its challenges,
its obsessions, its pettiness and its ecstasies, all at once and for ever.

But the assurance is given = nothing that is true, authentic and capable of
progressing will be abandoned: on the contrary our most marvelous dreams
and hopes are mere echoes of what will be.

The energy of Life will freely circulate in our beings, no longer betraying,
pretending, imitating or misleading, the energy of Thought, Vision and
Perception will freely circulate in our consciousnesses at will and in every
direction and domain, no longer separating, dividing, partitioning, opposing
or limiting – universal and creative.

Yes indeed, one must leave all to find all, one must accept to be emptied so
as to be able at last to receive and to fill.
A transfer needs to be effectuated = it is thus a matter of a transformation,
of an integral readying of our nature, of a sincere and unreserved consent.

Such is our part of the work = to learn and offer all of our movements
without exception – and to continue doing so even as the subconscience is
brought to the light of the new consciousness.

16
The false remedy

Here is the hourly routine of our human existence.

The measure of daily time that must be apportioned, distributed, attributed,
spent and utilized = lived out, without return, going back or recast, without
any possible correction, an escape forward which is also an exhaustion, an
erosion, a wearing out…

To do?
To act?
To influence, to bear upon?

Each body, each human ego must respond to constraints, needs and
necessities that ride, overlap, rub and mingle each other and side by side –
more or less pressing and immediate, already investing and invading the
time ahead, the time which is no longer virgin, the time already allotted.

To each one one’s lot, it is said.

A matter of hazard, of merit, of luck, of choice?
Of consequence?

Some trajectories appear to be uplifted or raised upon a gathering of

attentions, an audience, a collective expectation or a deal = “we carry and
energize you, you in turn must satisfy us”.
One then is the prisoner of a role, a persona, a myth and a contract.

Some activities are more intensive as well, allowing a better chance to forget
oneself.

Most of us however, as individual formations of the human species, are held,

forced, compelled and harnessed to our respective situations in the vise of
which each consciousness must at all costs learn resilience and endurance so
as to survive and care for one’s own.
Of those of us, can it be asked to see, to call?

58
But the philosophers, the intellectuals, the metaphysicians, the authors and
the writers, are they calling?

“The new consciousness will incarnate while the wise men talk and sleep…” –
is that so?
Can it be so?

Are humanity and the Earth condemned to decay under the ascendant of a
virtual world devoid of light?

The magical possibility offered to everyone to get one’s preferred

experiences home-delivered at once and away from all prying control by
others (or so it seems), such is the irresistible bait held out to all – and this
way all fancies and all perversions are practically made accessible, freed
from all moral reservations.

And why not?

How could we otherwise ever exhaust all that contradicts and refuses and
denies, all that wants to remain separate and free to explore and
experiment?

And is it not also preferable to provide individuals with virtual private

avenues to let go of their stored up obsessions and desires, rather than
expose the other members of society to the virulence of impulses repressed
for too long?

Yes, one can reason everything out.

And doing so, instead of having to grow by the consequences of one’s
movements and actions, the individual is exempted of the mirror held by the
others and by life itself, meeting it only through the images of one’s choice.

59
This is presently spreading like a lightning contagion, alienating more and
more individuals from all direct evaluation and objective assessment.
The reign of personal satisfaction is thereby reinforced, legitimized,
magnified and justified.

It is a reign without shame or reflection.

The ever more pointed, meticulous and sophisticated observation of
behaviors allows to fructify investments in research and application at the
largest scale = grotesque fortunes are thus made in a decade, confirming in
the eyes of the mass the public utility of the world-wide enterprise of
collective hypnosis.

Let us march on!

All political regimes appreciate the strategic advantages and mind not to irk
the herds!

Does this not herald an unprecedented victory of the Adversary?

A dulled and multiplied humanity dispossessed of its spirit and a damaged

Earth, revolted, violated and violently reactive, is this not the knell of
conscious evolution in Matter, of progressive material manifestation?

Soldiers and Apprentices

The Shakti.
The Shakti of the universes.
The Shakti of terrestrial nature.
The Shakti of the evolution of incarnate consciousness = most high must
She be seated, vast enough to include and embrace all, near enough to
understand all, great enough to love all.
Material enough for direct action.

But how to open to Her, here and now?

So long as one houses separate wills or shelters any ambition, it is wiser not
to pull Her down, lest one bursts apart.

When one no longer wants anything for oneself, then only can one pull.
But is one prepared to endure, to hold the charge?

The army of good-wills is forming, little by little it constitutes itself by

distinct, isolated spontaneous urges that come to join here and there, an
army without determined hierarchy, without any concerted battle plan,
without agreed upon strategy, without ammunitions.
Its soldiers are those who are ready to forget their egoism and put into
practice their choice of harmony.

Their dedication grows and is nourished and sustained by another light, as of

an infinitely precious memory of what must be, of what will come to pass –
without pretending to know the way nor the means of proceeding upon it =
one learns as one walks.

They perhaps are researchers or farmers, botanists, jurists or

photographers, artisans, students or wanderers, what does it matter?
With their very breath they comprehend the condition of the world, they feel
and sense the call, they answer needs that overpass them in every way but
resound deep within them.

61
Is the Shakti of the future murmuring to their attentive hearts, one by one,
the secrets necessary for the finding of the way?

To be provided with a material human body, or to be deprived of one.

To be alive amongst men, or to be dead.

It seems to be indispensable, in order to open to the Shakti’s workings and

to Her action for the future of the earth, and to offer oneself as a
transmitting instrument, to have already traversed, concretely used or
unmasked the illusion of death.

During this recent period of determining scientific and technologic advances

in terms of equipment, practices and environment, the human spirit has
pushed its investigation of the phenomenon of physical death way beyond
the thresholds previously reached and, to a certain extent, appears to be
now confronting its terrors and its dreads.

We can only approach the reality of consciousness through those

instruments it has already developed in us, which are familiar to us and to
which in a large measure we are identified = the mind, thought, intelligence
and their uses, the vital, emotional and sensual experiences, together
compose the instrumentation by which human persons meet the world.
And naturally we thus lend to consciousness itself the characters, modes and
possibilities of expression of these instruments.

Could we, can we, so constituted as we are, approach or experience

consciousness directly, without intermediaries?

It is possible, it does actually happen, incidentally and briefly, now and then
and here and there, and those who are at once subjects and witnesses of
this meeting are profoundly and irreversibly changed by it.

62
Bu, precisely, we touch here a new necessity, that of a superior
instrumentation, less opaque and more united, which is yet to be elaborated
– and we are then its laboratories.

By dint of seeking and searching, observing and studying, we have reached

the evidence of the infinite – the infinity of the material universe, to begin
with.

Consciousness is infinite.

Is this not infinitely reassuring and comforting to us, who remain finite,
limited and bound to the processes of opposition for our progress?
Bound to death as to life, to night as to light, to pleasures as to lacks, to
falsehood as to truth, this assurance of the infinity of consciousness opens
one’s heart to hope = this state in which we strive and struggle would be but
a stage and the project conceived by consciousness one and unlimited would
necessarily include an ulterior stage, a maturing of this age-long meandering
way within Matter…!

The next stage = a stage of conscious unity and oneness, celebrated by an

infinite diversity of expressions and experiences and inhabited by the joy of
existence…?
Is such a project not worthy of our entire and unreserved adhesion and
participation?

This indeed is what the Shakti of the morrow is showing us – She Who Can.
Even as within us cease the taste for contraries and the attachment to
adversity and we begin to grasp the possible plenitude of an infinite
complementarity, the call in and of our bodies and their own recognition of a
truer and vaster Presence grow firmer and surer.

Evolution of the body

Our body is our refuge, our home, our armor, our observation post and our
vehicle in material reality.
Of this vehicle and shelter we have but a very relative mastery, inconstant
and subject to numerous factors and forces which we do not control.
This body is interlinked with the entire terrestrial reality – in its substance as
in the space-time it shares with the whole human species.

Our corporeal existence, even in the best possible conditions, cannot be

independent – neither of external material inputs nor of others.

The life of the body is in no way guaranteed = it must be won, earned or in

some way or other ensured by constant effort and vigilance.
The needs of the body, such as it is constituted till now, are heavy and
engrossing.
Its vulnerability and precariousness belie, contradict or compromise our vital
thrusts and urges, our projects and ambitions, our ideals and our
conceptions.

Could it be that we name “divine” today what we shall be tomorrow?

Similarly, to the primal and instinctive vital creature, the mental being or
consciousness first appeared as supernatural, magical and formidably
puissant and unpredictable, to which it must submit and make the most
demonstrative offerings, or from which it had to flee and retreat most
violently to escape its malevolent invisible influence.

And yet we did become these superior beings, whose intelligence and subtle
faculties have conquered the world – and divided it.

64
However, is not the transition that invites us presently still more essential
and altogether more radical, and does it not signify as well the acceding
which was wished, prayed and hoped for, the goal Nature has ever sought to
reach in its evolutionary work of the ages, the living and material blossoming
of this Being and this Reality we truly are beyond all vicissitudes?

And are not there, in this very same material human body precisely, the
clues and potentials of another leap, another evolutionary passover, here
itself?

Once upon a time, at the verge of the passage to the mentalized condition of
the living material human being upon earth, there was an unfathomable
pressure – which could only be apprehended by a sort of tentative upsurge
of recognition, faith or veneration.
Yet the actual organic consciousness of the body was becoming aware of or
sensitive to another perception, as of another time arising within the vital
time or overlooking it and, by incomprehensible snatches and glimpses, was
learning to familiarize with a new sense and perspective of the environment,
as well as of all circumstances and relationships.
And the seat of the physical consciousness was gradually shifting to the front
of the brain.

Today it is all there, together and simultaneously: all the influences from all
origins and planes are expressing themselves in mankind, whose number
has like a cancer invaded the whole Earth.

The body itself is not encumbered by self-consciousness.

Trained and accustomed since very long to endure, accept and
accommodate the whims and imperious demands of the residents of the
house, it must function as its majordomo, habituated to ungratefulness,

65
scorn, complaints and excesses and its consciousness is fully occupied by the
necessities of survival, maintenance and upkeep of a viable equilibrium.

Proudly and pompously identified to the powers and authority of thought,

will, inspiration or duty with which we clothe our temporary personality, we
prefer to feel superior to this beast of burden.
Until we “fall” ill or victims of some accident or physical attack, we remain
determined to appreciate our bodies only insofar as they allow us to
experience pleasure and ease and the satisfaction of a valuable expression.
When this balance is affected, altered or broken, we revert to being the
fragile and dependent physical creature we had grown used to ignore.

The physical and corporeal distress.

The solitude of a body that is hurting and suffering.

When the body is in some intense difficulty, it is not either to the vital or the
mental forces that it turns = it is to the presence of the soul or the spiritual
state.

The whole earth is now in danger.

It is to that Consciousness that is truly One and supreme that it turns its
call.

***

66
19
The body, the soul and the universal

Both the body and the soul know what love is.
They have the experience of gratitude.
They know unconditional faith.

They have respect and esteem for one another, their consciousnesses
recognize one another, the consciousness of the body and that of the soul,
the cellular consciousness and the psychic consciousness.

The soul and the body know what it is we have lost, what we can find no
longer.

Earth, terrestrial Nature, in its depth and at its source, recognizes and knows
too the love of the One – of what is united, of what is truly great and
conscious and capable of love – and it responds to it.

Can one thus, first apprehend, then establish and develop a current or flow
of awareness that would join the physical being to the psychic being to the
deep terrestrial being to that being above the mind, or “supra-mental”?

Can one do so concretely enough so as to serve a contagion of harmony?

The terrestrial being, the Earth-consciousness, is it an entity?

There is the physical and material earth, with its magma, its ores and
minerals and metals, its rocks and sediments, its oceans and continents and
tectonic plates and mountainous folds and its gulfs and its atmosphere and
its currents.

67
There is the terrestrial field of events and circumstances and there is the
vibratory milieu emanated simultaneously by the innumerable multitude of
forms and of living and conscious creatures, the myriads vehicles of
consciousness in Matter, from crystal to mankind.

Must one not - as She, the Mother, has indicated -, “be conscious of the
whole world at the same time to be conscious of the Divine”?

Is this not precisely what, together, the body and the soul, the corporeal
consciousness and the psychic consciousness, in an ardent receptivity to the
supramental Principle and its direct action, must become able to apprehend,
establish and develop so that the offering and the change may grow
concrete?

Is this not precisely too what an enlightened ecologist, whose individual

consciousness has realized the interdependence and unity of all that is, must
learn and is learning to practice?

Many are the degrees of interiority, of immediacy, as well as are the

gradations of universality.

As yet we hardly know how to conciliate, in our experience, individual reality

and collective reality – the unique person and the numbers.

We do feel pain, horror or compassion and we partially share in the suffering

of one individual, one body, or even of several bodies together, but our
empathy ceases to operate when the numbers exceed this limit.
Thus even doctors, nurses and health workers experience a threshold of
empathy beyond which their sensitivity dulls and subsides.
Why is that?

68
Is this limitation that of the physical ego which can only momentarily and
punctually identify within the boundaries of personal proximity and would
fear to lose itself in the crowd or to be engulfed by it?

Yet we do sometimes feel reinforced, augmented, amplified and encouraged

by numbers, in certain occasions or in such circumstances that trigger or
bring about a large gathering of people, often in unexpected ways, in which
energies flow and move with a vigor and intensity beyond the reach of an
isolated individual.

And professors and teachers who must frequently or routinely address

sizeable assemblies of individuals so as to communicate to them some
knowledge, whether abstract or practical, do develop an ability to relate to
large audiences which can actually adapt to many different situations.

This is so because it is no longer a matter of affect alone, but of an aptitude

to establish a sort of impersonality in their action.

Effective impersonality is only possible once and when the ego has been
dissolved.

In our present times it happens that entire populations are suddenly

projected in horror and chaos.

An individual organism, a small tiny human body, cannot identify with the
suffering of a large number of such aggregates, so long as the impersonality
of the true consciousness has not established.

Every second that passes, how many living human bodies are screaming?

69
The Truth-Consciousness and its force of manifestation are necessarily
impersonal.

It is why they seem inhuman to us.

***

70
20
Our lives and our deaths

We confuse the sentiments that occupy and inhabit our personal domains
with veritable love, with the actual capacity for love.

Humanity has reproduced itself far in excess.

A humanity subject to avidity, greed, covetousness and resentment, to

egoism and exclusivism, a humanity inclined to lie, to abuse, to cheat and
betray, that reproduces and proliferates without any restraint, leads to the
abyss.

Must one count on fratricidal wars and on Nature’s ire and wrath to
neutralize and reduce mankind’s blinded demography?

Must there occur a rampant and lightning epidemic such as that influenza
that decimated and took millions of people at the beginning of the last
century – right at the end of the First World War -?

And how then to dispose of so many corpses?

And these questions, these interrogations, are they monstrous?

Where does the monster begin?

How does the monster thrive and prosper in us till it alienates us even from
the air and water of the earth, from its juices and its sap, from its
atmosphere?

The more the psychic being develops and the freer it is from the ego and
from all contingencies.

71
Its consciousness, its being and its joy are free of forms and circumstances
and have nothing to fear from anywhere.
Its existence is forever settled in the One, whatever happens and invariably.

The psychic being has no need to preserve any kind of identity – its
uniqueness is sure and whole and free to progress according to its own
truth.

It is possible to re-absorb large groupings of infant souls, of psychic sparks

incarnating by families or linked by particular affinities without any loss of
consciousness or experience.

I am this cry of agony.

I am he who in three steps devours the universe.

I am Chinese.
I am Muslim.
I am American.
I am Russian.

Who am I?

My children are waiting for me.

They are hungry.

The hurricane, the cyclone… it is coming…

Shall we be alive tomorrow?

72
Those ravaged countries, those stigmata of pettiness and hatred, haunt us
all.
It is now itself that such deliberate abominations are orchestrated and acted
out, it is humanity such as it still is that allows it.

It is us, then.

He is dead.
Dead?
His body, there, has ceased to live?
He no longer has a body?
He can no longer be in this body?
He is without a home, expelled?

Where is he?

Me, I live!
My body shelters me, my body is well alive – here is the world of life!

Could it be that this body too ceases to live, my body, me, can it happen
that it too will cease?
How?
I am alive, I am this body, this body lives, there is no room for what is not
alive, for what is bodiless.

How to conciliate?

How to live through the death, cessation, disappearance, decomposition of

what one has been?

Is this abrupt, incomprehensible, ungraspable, unacceptable cessation, the

reverse of a step, of a threshold to be passed in one’s consciousness?

73
There are some in our midst who know, with a knowing so profound it is
inalienable, that this Earth is both our anchor and our vessel in the material
universe and that it already has harbored so many of our attempts in our
labor of progress, while many more of us, perhaps even the majority,
remain hypnotized and conquered by the bounds of birth and death.

And if some amongst us do revere the Earth, however rude and brutal it
may show itself, most of us are concerned with the terrestrial conditions
beyond their hours only insofar as their affection for their own progeny is
free of egoism.

Have we not already vitiated, poisoned and spoilt the very elements, for
generations to come?

***

74
21
The tyranny of the instruments

To each of us is assigned a unique body, on which we depend, which we

become = an absolute which, nonetheless, ceases.

In order to sojourn in this field of progress, each of us requires a body for

shelter, a life-force to animate, mobilize and sustain, a force of intelligence
to orient and to guide = a vehicle and instruments to steer our course.

The fixity of matter, even of organic matter, of our own body, with its
constant necessities of maintenance, is absorbing, demanding,
overwhelming.

First, our body is given us.

Then we become vitally aware, through emotions, impulses and the acting
power.
Later on we begin to reflect and to open to intelligence and its numerous
faculties.
Thus equipped, we meet the world – and the others.

It is through the others’ eyes that we apprehend our separate identity and
must perforce adapt to it and develop it.

What we put on, we become.

This situational engagement is so engrossing that we sometimes require

many years of this time measured by the revolving days of the Earth to
recover some of the sense of our free existence beyond and above the
instruments.

75
“We”? Who is that?

In proportion to the present totality of humanity, still far too rare are those
individuals who are conscious of a deeper inner being which belongs neither
to the instrumental nature nor to the personal ego, but to another dimension
of existence and subtly participates in the whole experience.

The life and death of the body appear to dominate all knowledge.

Yet the life-force in us knows itself to be eternal and, in the measure of our
identification with its nature, it is spontaneously impossible to actually sense
or feel our own finiteness – we then confuse this eternity with an illusory
permanence of our present personal formation which can only be
provisional.

The mind-force in us knows itself capable of progressing indefinitely in its

observation, discovery, understanding, knowledge and mastery of the
material universe.
Inasmuch as we are identified with it, we are convinced of our infinite
potential and can never really believe that its source could ever actually
disappear = suddenly cease to exist.

Each individualization thus represents a unique association, an original

composition in constant flux, of those three constituents of the incarnated
human person = the physical, the vital and the mental.
An association which can remain largely unconscious until its cessation –
unconscious as the nestling is of the depths, heights and immensities that
surround it, carry it and allow it to exist.

76
Of what is our species not capable, in its urge and thrust and aspiration
towards self-perfection, as in its attraction for horror and negation?

Will it be given, will it have the earthly time to find the evolutionary passage
to a more clement condition – more faithful to unity and more expressive of
the harmony, the truth, the love and the joy which we, so far, could only
glimpse in moments of grace?

***

77
22
The passage

Through this lifetime which is presently allotted to us, each of us must

incessantly compose with the trinity of body, life and thought so as to set
and maintain a viable equilibrium, liable to progress and evolve, to refine,
develop and accomplish itself midst the others as an individual ego.

When the experience occurs of the inner discovery or of the spiritual birth,
our relationship to this personal equilibrium as to its constituents undergoes
a radical change = we acquire a perspective.
(The impression can also be that we simply recover perspective.)

New necessities become priorities.

The ego finds itself overseen, embraced, watched and supported as if by an

elder brother who knows better, who sees more clearly, who shows new
horizons.
The entire being in all of its parts is gradually solicited.

And it is the return as if of another memory, that of an ineffable

commitment at the service of a manifestation one and true – one in its love,
its power and its joy, one in its infinite becoming.

Here.
In Matter.

But our nature as it is must be changed, actively transformed = the

sediments of its subconscience accumulated through the ages must be lifted
up into another clarity.

78
And here is what is happening to us = our specters, the endless multitude of
our buried formations, the subliminal swarm of our residues, sucked still live
to the surface, appear to us – and it would seem the world is asphyxiated by
their noxiousness.

We learn to offer.
No longer mere nice bouquets, but all that we are, all that we carry, all that
we incite, the best as the worst, the unfathomable as the unspeakable, the
noblest as the vilest, all, we learn to offer = to That which knows, to That
which can, to That which IS.

We still need relationships.

We still need to place or situate the relation; we are not ready yet to forget
the self and so we say “Thou” or “Lord” or “Beloved”…

The passage still seems to be so narrow, excruciating.

At every moment we learn to remember – what truly matters, this offering

of all one is, without any pretence or ornament, without any shame or
judgment, without preferences or repulsions.
One must tidy up.

Sincerity is not a quality or a condition one can attain once and for all.
We pray that all of our movements and all of our acts may offer themselves
unreservedly, so that they may express truth only.

However, the fire of discernment grows in us and dislodges and debunks all
of our stratagems.

79
It is a fire that may seem destructive, so complicit is our very constitution
with all that imitates, deceives, conceals and disguises.

It is a fire that compels the whole being to keep progressing towards ever
more concrete union, transparency and receptivity.

The terrestrial circumstances seem to be undergoing an acceleration, akin to

that of a ripening abscess about to burst.

Can one still meaningfully strive to offer to the new consciousness the most
cohesive and harmonized instruments one can, even while one still stands
this side of the evolutionary threshold?
To offer trained bodies that are disciplined, harmonious and enduring,
vitalities that are noble and wholesome, generous and refined, intelligences
that are luminously developed and oriented, impartial and open to the higher
knowledge, all three united in an effective complementarity?

Is there a shortcut?
A quicker approach to serve the Earth and the Future?

Perhaps: one can then withdraw from the instruments – from the tyranny of
the vital and the monopoly of thought: one can desist from them, cease
from counting on them to fill the daily tread and one can turn more
exclusively and more actively to That alone and to its force of truth.
But to that end one must accept to be somehow diminished, divested of all
urge and pleasure in relations end exchanges, accept a sort of transitory
imbecility, nullity, inaptitude.

Yet one also finds oneself liberated, released from a whole zone of tensions:
ambition, rivalry, the desire to please and to attract, the thrust to prove

80
one’s worth, are all undone like the puppets of a show when the
performance is over, revealed for what they are.

The ego then appears merely as a grimace, ridicule, miserable – and

useless.

Opening

It is possible to adore a stone.

A sprig of prairie grass.

What is the right word?

Does this word exist?

One experiences at once veneration, gratitude, aspiration, adoration, prayer,

the urge for self-giving, a call that rises like a flame and an intensity that is
the honey of truth.

It is worth all the philosophies and metaphysics, all the edifices and systems
and all the human relationships – it is worth them all and it surpasses them
all, it vibrates, it breathes and all is reconciled.

The body participates in it.

The body understands.

Can this state endure?

To become conscious of the source.

A Presence that contains and surpasses at once the Person, the Impersonal
and the Multiplicity, that bears at once the absolute, the infinite and the
immediate, that is at once the permanent origin of the universes and the
inhabitant of every point…= is that possible?

82
A chimera of the frightened mind?

Responsibility

Standing upon this earth, to call the Truth.

Our self-conscious pride prevents us from admitting to our helplessness and

asking for the needed aid – for us all, for the Earth.

To leave our ephemeral preferences and to will what Truth wills, what the
true consciousness wills to be = to choose the choice of Unity.

Religions have corrupted us = they have made us fearful, timorous,

judgmental, servile and cunning.
Atheism too has corrupted us, which has spurred us to aggrandize and
glorify ourselves at the expense of creation, to enjoy our own image and
exploit matter as we pleased.

Between the two, however, we began to search, to cleave our ways.

New antennae started to grow – beyond majestic concepts and shiny
phrases, learned analyses and spiritual pennants – and some first
perceptions are now born, wordless, precious and direct.

“Ecology”, here is a barbaric term, but how does it matter as long as we

learn to develop its sense in each of our emissions – our words, our
thoughts, emotions, gestures, our wants, desires and sensations = if we
learn to live an ecology of the integral truth that is subtle and material at the
same time…?!

84
*

For our unbridled practices are now contaminating even the subtle
atmosphere of the Earth.

Each individuality which has become conscious of its inner or higher being
gradually discovers the terms of its own unique relation to this ineffable,
immeasurable Reality – whether we name it the Divine or That or the Goal
to be reached, the perfection to be attained, the harmony to be realized, or
the highest ideal of Unity to be served.

To each one one’s own religion.

And rallying thus to the highest and deepest truth one is able to perceive,
one may observe that the necessary work of unification essentially agrees to
that which every other conscious individuality must do.

We want the Good of all that is.

If one could actually wish for, conjure up and effectively invoke an

atmosphere ideal for all, an atmosphere that would be, according to our
present understanding, the most favorable to a continuous harmonious
evolution, of which qualities, virtues, attributes and states would it be
composed?
To begin with and as a foundation, there would be Calm and Peace =
invariable, inalterable, conscious and constant.

Upon this basis of calm and peace would then manifest, together, the pure
joy of existence, the universal benevolence that can understand all, the
sense or rhythms and beauty, the perception of the Grace, the will and taste
for progress – and a thankful gratitude for all the possibilities material reality
offers.

85
Do we not all wish for such a milieu?

Why then do we not all work for it, each of us and us all at the same time?

It is entirely possible and is only up to us.

An integral ecology demands on our part a progressive individual and

collective discipline – a discipline consciously chosen, fully endorsed,
developing and able to evolve.

Each of us is provided with an immediate field of work = our individuality is

our laboratory.
Rigorous honesty, attentive observation, discernment and lucidity come to
support and strengthen aspiration and service.

To no longer pollute the world with our whims and cravings, our fantasies of
power, our rooted angers, bitter grudges and rancors, greeds and cravings,
small lies and resentments, our jealousies, doubts and judgments – to
practice probity, respect for all that is, responsibility.

But what to do about, or with, our toxic impulses, our darker wants and
desires?

Suppression neither illumines nor heals.

Expression or satisfaction most often undermine, affect or hurt others’

integrity.

What to do?

There is but one solution = to offer.

86
*

But what is it, “to offer”, what does it mean?

***

87
25
To participate

The new birth, the awakening of the individual consciousness to the inner
spiritual reality, allows one to identify the existence and function of a
transcendent axis of Consciousness-Force, which one then may invite to act
upon our external instrumental nature and in the vertical beam of which one
may present all that we are and all that finds expression in and through us.

One thus learns to offer, to this conscious Force that sees, knows and can,
all of our movements, whether ordinary and familiar ones, or ones that
emerge from the subconscience or ones that enter us from other planes or
emitting sources.

One learns to rely on this Light-Force, without any moral judgment of any
sort, with a simple aspiration towards a state of truth, plenitude and
integrality.

And trust grows in us, as time and again we observe how circumstances and
relations come to answer our real needs and make them to evolve, often in
unprompted, unexpected and unbidden ways – and not without humor…

Within human memory we are all habituated and accustomed to expect and
to give, from and to the others, the answers to our natural needs –
emotional, affective and sexual.

A person who appears not to need any one else for one’s individual harmony
and serenity stands out as abnormal, asocial, if not somewhat monstrous –
unless this person has made the self-evident choice of living alone with
Nature or taken a vow of asceticism for religious or spiritual purposes.

It is this very conditioning that causes our internal conflicts between a life at
the service of the Divine and a life amongst men.
And this misunderstanding only begins to clear with the continued practice
– the sadhana – of self-offering.

88
Then begins to dawn the outline of another possibility of existence in the
world – which some have named “gnosis”.

It is a condition for which we are not yet ready.

But while we cannot as yet become Gnostic beings, we can usefully work at
erecting and consolidating a conscious bridge which will help to establish in
life and matter the relation with this future condition.

The earth-nature is telling us “Time presses!!!”

It is urging us “Do your work now itself, this is your task!”!!!

Let cruelty dissolve in the intensities of love!

Let ugliness fade away in beauty’s infinite expression!

Let smallness give way in the liberty of truth.

When one become conscious of the Presence within oneself, more present
than any human being can be, and that little by little one finds in it all that
one has ever sought at every moment and in every place, one realizes the
scale and extent of the misunderstanding.

And how it is the cause of all of our dramas – and of our injustices.

For none of us can give all that the other needs.

89
Yet we remain unable or unwilling to accept this evidence as long as we do
not question the walls, the bars and the positioning of our cage of existence
= is that really all there IS, all that we are, all we can ever become (with
various ameliorations and more comfort)?

This little artificial and closeted patch, this truncated perception, this
alienation, these deformed echoes, this dependency and indignity – and this
tangled heap of encumbering notions and impressions and all these
contracts that bind us to this very same cage and shelter us from the vast
incomprehensible universe – is there no Sense, no Purpose or direction, no
real foundation of existence behind this elaborate setting that keeps
deteriorating despite all our efforts?!!!

We discover the passage, the concealed doorway.

Someone is there.
The great Person.
The treasure and the guide.
The companion and the infallible sight.

This Divine within each one of us then begins to teach us a new

responsibility.
In this sacred space we must lay everything.
From its hearth where burns an inextinguishable fire we can now learn to
love, to find sustenance at the real source, to practice the true freedom.

We now grasp how all of our relationships are flawed and vitiated by our
respective expectations, demands, wants, urges and hungers, sown with

90
bargains and compromises, weighed down by our condemns and our
opinions.

***

91
26
Walking forward

The inner Divine provides for us and we no longer depend on others for our
well-being and individual harmony – thus preparing us to meet the Divine in
the world, in each person and whatever happens.

Indeed, thus equipped, one is enabled to meet the presence in each being
and recognize Its hand that clears one’s way and leads one to the necessary
shocks and discoveries as well as to the surpassing and committing oneself
that will make one grow in consciousness, mastery and peace.

92
27
The action of the Grace

All of us together, have we time to progress concretely enough in our

consciousness and in our acts = will terrestrial nature leave humanity a
chance to grow in wisdom, humility and transparency?

From all sides it seems that the snare is closing, this trap which we
ourselves have fabricated – by dint of greed?
On all sides voices are rising: “we must change our attitude now, today itself
and not tomorrow…!”

The spoilt kids, who are used to enjoy all sorts of pleasures and amenities,
can no longer conceive of their absence – is that the confidence of the well-
fed sheep in an infallible providence?

Shall we find soon enough the methods and means to draw atomic energy
without fission?
To clean up all the refuse our errors have produced and propel them into the
blaze that can dissolve everything forever?

From the viewpoint of the gods and the superior entities, which as a rule do
not feel the urge to take on a material human body or do not see the need
for it, since nothing seems to be lacking in their own existence, their grasp
of time is evidently different and is of concern to them only in proportion to
their exerting some active influence on the affairs of the earth.

From the spiritual standpoint, one’s consciousness must be free from all
attachment to form as to the fruits of action and capable of receiving
everything equally without the inner union ever being affected.

What then do these souls experience, who incarnate in matter to serve the
manifest evolution of consciousness – to serve the evolutionary
manifestation of the One?

93
A constantly progressive and ever-inclusive manifestation of which our
bodies, these tiny vulnerable and mortal organisms, are traces and markers,
instruments and intrinsically perfectible expressions?

Can this same impassive, unassailable equality be realized in the very

consciousness of these organisms that are constantly exposed and
threatened, enslaved to the laws of the earth’s past – the laws that ruled the
prior stages ever since the first cellular formations or aggregates?

Can the consciousness of a human body awake directly to the luminous and
nourishing rain of the Grace?

Can we invoke and call the Grace in our acts?

***

94
28
Used moulds

However, from the point of view of the physical human creature developed
by earth-nature, this singular creature tied in its cage with its concrete
needs and repetitive rhythms, why at all wish for anything beyond its reach
and ken?
For, whatever happens, it is undeniable that very soon, perhaps even
tomorrow, this body will stop functioning and will decompose and “I” shall be
no more.
Is it not better and wiser, then, to wish only for what is immediately or
rapidly accessible?

With a little luck, effort and perseverance, to educate oneself so as to find a

remunerative job and a decent place in society, to found a family and
provide it with relative security, to make no enemies, to enjoy good health
for as long as possible and to depart in peace – is it really necessary or even
useful at all to wish for more?

What is the responsibility of the “powerful people” of this world?

Where are the roots and origins of the devouring, devastating madness that
has seized and taken hold of humanity?

Always we model our conduct after the image that is shown us of a desirable
and promising perfection.

Hitler.
Genghis Khan.
Mao Tse Tung.

95
Napoleon.
The head honcho on the block.
The baker.
The comedian.
Stalin.

Where do we find the image that determines us most, or by whom is it

presented to us?
Does it come to us from the ancestor, a parent, the street, an historical
figure, advertisements, a boss, a hero, a teacher – or a sage in our
aspiration for self-finding?

Which force does then incite and encourage us to make of it the invisible
core magnet of our existence and the object of our allegiance?

This need of a model according to which one measures and assesses – in the
positive or in the negative – the condition in which one seems to be, is
common to every human being.

It remains paramount until the moment when one concretely understands

that one simply does not exist, that nothing actually exists, without That, or
outside of That.

And thereafter one says only = “What thou willest, what thou willest… Let it
be Thy will only…”

Solidarity

In the times of empires, invaders and colonialists, physical distances

signified the unknown – adventurers and explorers were discovering other
versions of humanity, which they naturally preferred to consider as inferior.
This allowed them to deem themselves justified in their ill-treatment,
exploitation and enslaving of these “others”.

Today the boat of the world holds all of the versions, side by side and
sometimes mixed, getting accustomed willy-nilly to one another come what
may and despite the many long-hoarded violences.

The inequalities within the societies are thereby only more pronounced.

(Message sent to the participants of the movement named “Yellow vests”

which erupted suddenly and spontaneously in reaction to the French
Government’ announcement of a tax-increase on petrol as a measure to
contribute to the collective transition to clean and green energies, a measure
which would however affect only the lower para-urban middle class
depending on their personal vehicles for their daily routine, while the
wealthier citizens had earlier been exempted from taxes on their revenues.
“Greetings.
This is to communicate the great interest and concern I feel for this
collective push still free of ideology and political maneuvering, from India
where I live, and to share with you two objectives:
1- Do not let yourselves be persuaded to organize centrally nor to
designate representatives or leaders, for this would be the end of it;
on the contrary you all must remain scattered but active in the ways
you have practiced so far and compel the authorities – government
and politicians – to review everything at the base and to act
accordingly.
2- Let me propose here, if I may, the text of a call which could be
published and aired on social media and on the net until it reaches all
concerned =

97
“Call and summons to those of us who today are puissant and wealthy
:
The time has come for you to manage your power of action at the
service of the collective terrestrial harmony.
Act, circulate the energies in the true sense – it is for you to elect the
domains of your service.
It is not a matter of charity or humanitarian duty.
It is a matter of serving the great evolutionary Force so that humanity
may accede in harmony to its future.
The time for sad and deleterious enjoyment has passed: you must now
contribute and collaborate whole-heartedly and with all the energies at
your disposal to a terrestrial renewal and rebirth, for the solidarity of
all.”
Thanking you for your work and action. Divakar.)

Yes, we all know now that this earth is our common vessel, our one vessel,
one with all of its parts.

In this new situation, never experienced before, religions, traditions and

cultures tend to become fetters that hold us back and divide us – or
maintain apparently irreconcilable differences.

No culture can accept to be invaded by another.

Yet, humanity as a whole, with its many faces and distinct past histories and
acquired qualities and assets, can today face the challenges and necessities
of evolution only if it recognizes itself as one and opens itself willingly and
consciously to a future of harmony superior to all it has ever experienced.

Weighty is the baggage of all our legitimate resentments.

98
And so long as some of us still justify the will to dominate and control, the
dark fires brooding under our ruins will continue to undermine and defeat us
all, unable to choose the greater truth.

***

99

How to communicate?

This effort here, this attempt at communicating, is it worth it? Is it not rather
vain and absurd?
I write these words in the French or English language with a style and an
approach to meaning and coherence which are probably peculiar to me and
which may as much repel as encourage the eventual readers.
I have neither a name as an author nor any status, do not publicly exist and
this text is only accessible on my web-site which is practically unknown.
I have neither the means nor the needed vitality to carry it into a more
public space or forum.
And even if I were a successful author with an already favorable audience,
likely to pay attention to what I wish to transmit, it would still amount but to
a tiny proportion of humanity being touched.
Consequently, all the reasons to give up on it weigh heavily enough for me
to abstain and seek and discern another, more direct method: does such a
method exist?

Nevertheless a certain insistence in crediting a diffuse sense of urgency

comes in support of this particular movement to communicate: who knows,
perhaps someone somewhere will read a sentence that will trigger an act, a
series of useful acts?

We each of us, are born in circumstances and milieus which can still be so
alien that they might as well be located on different planets or in other
space-times.
But this link – still dependent and subject to perversions – which the new
technologies provide us all with, this connectivity, brings at once in each
other’s presence such realities as can still be felt or experienced as
incompatible.

To be born in a hamlet of the Ivory Coast, a derelict suburb of Minneapolis,

an ancestral mansion in Shangai, a popular district of Kiev, a farm in
Karnataka – which understanding, which vision of the world can we all really
share?

100
*

Yet it is within each of our living bodies that an awakening, an attention, an

alert and a prayer must be born and grow.

How to communicate, how to transmit to these billions of us what is the

most useful and necessary to know and understand today – without any
demagogy or ideology, but fraternally?

Images are the most effective vehicle of communication, as we can

negatively observe on every side in the predatory usage of publicity.

One can create, initiate the continuous creation of short films carrying useful
knowledge, each one dedicated to a distinct theme in three large areas of
progress = progresses in consciousness, progresses in knowledge and
progresses in techniques and know-how.
Their format would be common = short expositions using a minimum of
words treating all the themes of human existence upon earth from the
viewpoint of recently acquired and developed advances, whether in the area
of human relations and resources, of proven historical and scientific
knowledge, or of the discoveries that contribute to a more harmonious and
adaptable collective and individual living.

Parallel to that, here and there on each continent prototypes of small

autonomous cities can be created assembling the techniques and know-how
most adapted to the present conditions and to the evolutionary necessities.

By “progress in consciousness” is meant those acquired progresses in

behavior and comportment arising from resolved conflicts and maturation,
such as realizations in the domain of the male-female polarity, which even if

101
still contested or denied by the persisting proportion of inertia, are
nonetheless irreversible = they are steps accomplished into the future.

The realization of the free complementarity between man and woman and,
within the individual, between masculine and feminine, although not yet
spread to the whole of humanity, is already established in the collective
consciousness, a living and active reference which can be directly
communicated through example and contagion.

The imbalance between what we still like to call the poles, or kinds, is the
cause of a curse affecting humanity in its entirety and, by way of
consequence, its whole environment – since ages.
The very notion of man’s superiority over woman is a toxic formation that
has vitiated all of our relations, all of our behaviors and all of our structures.

The urgency that spurs us today is also that of liberating ourselves forever of
this malevolent spell.

Thus, those short documentaries addressing human relations could present,

without any heaviness or commentary, expressions of a real equality
between kinds and of a harmonious complementarity – the tranquil strength
of an equilibrium open to progress.
In the same descriptive, the diversity of free relational choices would be
introduced, manifesting the ability for each individual to uniquely integrate
the two parts, such as couples of men or of women, and associations of
races and origins, expressing mutual recognition, shared respect and
recovered innocence.

It is indeed a matter of presenting everywhere and in all milieus what is

today the truest, the most evolved, radiant and accomplished, the most
conscious and universal in our present human condition.

102
In the domain of conscious realizations will also be presented
demonstrations of excellence in physical education for instance = what the
human body is presently able to achieve and manifest in terms of harmony,
self-control, plasticity, endurance, agility and resilience.

And so have we still perhaps, it would seem, enough leisure to dream and,
why not, to even attempt and propagate the right utilization, noble and
graceful and, yes, useful, of our brand-new means of immediate terrestrial
communication…?

Fall and rebirth

Meanwhile, the facts are staring at us: the poisoning that we commit on
each of the five elements actually seems to follow an exponential
acceleration curve.
The soils and sub-soils of the earth are poisoned, the water of its sources,
rivers, aquifers and oceans is poisoned, its air is poisoned, its ether and its
atmosphere are poisoned, the smokes of its fires have turned toxic and its
fauna and flora are being rapidly decimated.

Our bodies are exposed to this multiple destruction – even as we cling more
fiercely to those alluring “benefits” its very agents are procuring for us.

What, then, are the forces at work?

These ills that afflict us and proliferate on every side, these ills for which we
are largely responsible, are akin to as many sinister spells occupying a
battlefield that eludes our comprehension, for every tentative opening or
semblance of a solution soon turns out to be just as menacing, hazardous or
already contaminated.

This state of consciousness in which we remain the slaves of our ignorance

cannot help us.

For the spiritual consciousness, it is evident that nothing substantial can

ever be accomplished so long as there is any sort of attachment; that is, so
long as any attachment takes precedence over self-giving.

104
Attachment, however noble – even the attachment to the irreplaceable
beauty of the earth, to the adorable singularity of terrestrial nature, blinds
us and prevents us from serving the Great Law: it separates us from the
Force and Its Flow.

This supreme law of the manifestation is our one refuge, our one certitude,
and our one support.

When the individuality surrenders to the Divine and relies wholly on the
Divine, when the Presence of the divine within oneself as within all becomes
the source and the way, the goal and the guide, and as the experience
grows more concrete, a new trust develops which is at once faithful
adhesion, plasticity, receptivity and aspiration for progress.

One knows with certainty that nothing true in us, nothing innocent and
sincere will ever be abandoned or discarded but that, on the contrary, our
most profound wishes and our deepest dreams will be granted and find their
accomplishment in the Being who is to come.

And so it goes for the spirit of mankind to which we can identify = born of
the cosmos, raised and nourished by its forces, never will it be abandoned –
its unique multiplied truth will be preserved and protected come what may,
for it is essential to the whole adventure of the manifest One.

These are but words – but words are links = the experience IS.

To collaborate

Yet, after all, what we name “poison” is but the excess of a substance or
elements which were earlier latent or distant’

We invent nothing that was not already there potentially, just undetected or
inactivated in a given field.

We have been able to observe in the reality of the material earth-nature a

number of examples of organisms which, in response to an environment
become hostile, found internal means and resources in order to adapt.
We also know that the human body conceals unexplored capacities and that
its immune system, for instance, is but the accessible part of a store of
possibilities as yet unknown.

Matter, the material world, the state of material existence = is it not an

infinite marvel, from the infinitely small to the infinitely vast - a boundless
marvel?...

It is the human, the condition of the human being, which is a problem!

Humanity is a wager, a bet, a gamble…

It is the evolutionary expression of a fundamental, central urge of the
manifestation.
This truth we need to grasp so as to serve its real objective = a state of
multiple plenitude equally infinite.

How to help clear the way for the true progress of the human species?
How to let the Grace act, through us, on us, whoever and wherever we may
be – how to serve the essential intent and purpose of the Force of
manifestation?

106
A sufficient proportion of humanity must comprehend and experience this
imperative necessity.

Not to lie.
Never to lie.
One may only, instead of lying, keep silent, whenever the truth of the
moment requires it.

Never to exploit = one may benefit from another only through mutual
consent, one may benefit from nature only when one gives to it in return.

It is not a matter of morals, but of energy flow.

Falsehood obstructs, deviates, and obscures.
Exploitation unbalances, deforms, and degrades.

The Great Force must flow and circulate freely, unhampered, and sow
everywhere, white gold, its creative light.
Let It fill our bodies and awaken them to the Presence.

Third position

Integral ecology.

Ecology = the science of the home, in the sense of habitat, of environment,

and of all that occurs in it, and all the relations that manifest in it.

The universe is our home, it is there that we reside, along with the stars and
the daffodils, the serpents and the black holes.

Integral ecology = the answer to all the menaces, as to all the horrors.
A living response = humane, progressive, courageous, contagious.

For ages, a wide uncultivated space between two high walls separated the
human existence from the spiritual experience.

Any effort or attempt at reaching and attaining the spiritual consciousness

implied a divorce and emancipation from, or a rejection of, the ordinary
human existence.

To be born to the spirit and to disappear from the world of men were the
two faces of one coin.

As for the salvation preached by the recognized religions, a reward one had
to earn and deserve, it would only be granted on the other side of things =
after death.

This waste ground, like an immensity of absence and denial, a superior

unconsciousness, alienated from one another the two realities, the divine
one “up there” and the one of life “here below”.

Of this division the Adversary has fully benefited and profited.

108
*

Much more recently in time – a mere half-century ago -, a conscious act has
rent the lids and like an auger has pierced the layers.

The sword of truth has torn through the prism that fragmented the
incarnated consciousness, revealing the Unity of all that is and the central
Law of manifestation = in Matter too lies the Supreme.

This vast area, so far unknown and occult to the majority of human beings,
now traversed with lightning bolts, became fallow land where to sow seeds
and plant saplings = what is commonly termed “the new age” stirred to life,
shaking and bracing and grafting ancient traditions onto novel forays,
mingling millennial wisdoms with technological advances, making
indiscriminate use of previously esoteric practices, chemical compounds and
unprecedented perceptions in human awareness.

With its blossoming of methods and recipes for joining spirit to form eliciting
as many hopes as sarcasms, this irrepressible current like a tide suppressed
or hindered for too long, took hold of all values and notations of experience
with an unquenchable thirst for meaning and certainty.

Everything accelerated.

The collective discovery of new comforts, the rapprochement of cultures, the

widespread handling of new means of immediate communication, the
devastation of the earth, the demographic surge, the new masteries and the
new slaveries = indeed, everything sped up.

The realization that all is linked, too, gathered momentum.

Ecology.

109
From ego to eco.

A transition of the individual consciousness from ego-centering to a gradual

living realization of its responsibility and its duty of integrity in the universe.

Up until these latest decades it had seemed impossible to reconcile the

scientific quest with the spiritual one.

But then, each of the two evolved.

Not to merge one into another, but together to allow a third position to be
born and develop.

A position of the consciousness which would no longer be subjected to any

form of exclusivism or duality but would strive to open to the unity of all that
is and for which perfection would be synonymous with balance and harmony
and the ability to progress and evolve indefinitely.

A position which would be, before and beyond all terminology, doctrines and
ideals, rules and laws, concerned with truth and with respect.
A position which would combat all forms of pollution, beginning with what
each human being emits and emanates at every moment.
A position which would honor the dignity of all life.

To act and to pray

The integral ecology?

The snare of the concrete.

To find oneself riveted to immediate practical necessities which cannot be
ignored, reduced to an almost absolute state of dependency by the
importance they take on in our physical consciousness, to no longer know
where to turn so as to reunite to a more inward perception and a freer
perspective, to the sense of a greater force that can act in Matter and
circumstances = this is what lurks in wait at every instant.

And yet it is well understood that this third position legitimizes neither
escape nor rejection of physical and material life, but that on the contrary it
seeks to link, to identify the puissant, transformative contact between the
source of the conscious gold and the most material processes.

It is a bridge that is being built and consolidated bit by bit in the terrestrial
collective consciousness.

But, actually and concretely, what can we do?

Is it enough to have the courage of faith in order to serve, here and now,
evolution?

Confronted with the impasse that stands on every side like the hydra of old,
to its invincible mocking sneer that reminds us of our own complicity and
secretly eager acquiescence in the devourer’s reign, can we now acquire a
new freedom, a new power of choice and action?

111
Is it not then incumbent upon each of us to open up and offer one’s faculty
of imagination so as to divine, apprehend and foresee new modes of
functioning, new practices and new understandings of Matter’s possibilities?

What can we do where we are?

For it is all a matter of living persons, of real situations and actual needs
which a dictatorship alone could temporarily ignore…!

One cannot intervene in a given milieu without affecting every one of its
parts.

It is then, in a way, paralysis.

No single action can be indifferent and the best-intentioned movement will

inevitably hurt by some of its consequences.

This is why we must learn, first of all and whatever happens, to clear the
space within us for the action of the Grace, providing it with the required
conditions = rectitude and transparency.
And lucidity.

For indeed we are ignorant of the way – we have to discover it, through
offering and receptivity.

Cities today are sites of blinding wants, fuelled and prodded by the big
profiteers; and social systems can but adapt to these collective slaveries.

Let us dream.

112
In one country, then another, then several others and then all the countries,
comes the relief.
For each state or each nation a governing team constitutes co-opting big
entrepreneurs, scientists, agriculturists, doctors, philosophers, researchers,
artists, administrators and officers (the armies converting into civil services),
forgetting parties and ideologies and jointly taking responsibility for a
common vision and a common mission = to help establish a new equilibrium
that will be durable and capable of harmonious progress.

The indebted farmer, the dismissed worker, the ruined shopkeeper, the
overworked teacher, the expelled unemployed and the repelled immigrant –
a huge dark wall suddenly hides the sun.
To commit suicide?
To dive into oblivion?

Letting go

It is the whole earth today that places us in front of our idiocy = our
sectarianism, our political allegiances, our pretentions to any sort of
superiority, our exclusivisms, prejudices and habits, our imbecility.

We are all in the same body, the same matter and all of our scarecrows are
perfectly ridiculous.

There is but one Divine, there is but one human, who seeks and strives to
realize the joy of existence for ever.

Shame to each of us, shame to us all, for cherishing thus our smallness!

The earth cries to us =

“Be worthy of the miracle of Matter…!”

Released from duality

Probably ever since the human race stands erect upon this earth, able to
observe its environment and to marvel at the multitudes of stars in the night
sky, we have wondered whether we are alone in this material universe.

That there exist other subtler planes that influence us or with which we may
enter in contact, we may sense and concede already, but how could we be
the only conscious living physical creatures in this entire material universe?

This question has never ceased.

Contemporary scientific advances, however formidable, find to it no answer.

But the question itself grows more refined and deepens and evolves. We
have for example become aware of the possibility of different space-times,
or of different proportions in the main material laws such as gravity.

Could it be that on other planets Matter is animated and conscious of

existence in forms comparable, if not analogous, to those we experience,
according to an identifiable scale of densities or autonomy?

In most of our “fantastic” tales we project on their hypothetical species the

leading axes of our own trajectory = the quest for power or sovereignty and
the needs for relationships.

Rarely so far have we been able to imagine a quest for plenitude.

In human memory, we have all along been kneaded by duality.

By opposition and conflict.

115
Good and Evil.
The polarities.

And yet we well know, every one of us in one’s heart, that the choice is
constantly given us, the responsibility of which is ours alone: to be truthful
and united, or to be lying and separate.

To will for oneself alone, or to will with the true conscious will.

Already in the times of the Mahabharata, the Lord Avatar, Krishna, having
shown the complex intricacy of debts, duties and attachments, invited his
friend and disciple so:
“Take refuge in Me alone, I shall do everything for thee…”

But we cling to duality, it is our engine of growth, our agent of evolution.

What would we do without the good and the bad, the near and the far, the
left and the right, the male and the female, the young and the old, the living
and the dead, the white and the black?

And how would we reflect and orient ourselves without the perpetual
dilemma of free-will and determinism?
The fruit of the mind.

Are these evolutionary dependency and necessity, characteristics that are

exclusive to, or were specifically elected for, this particular, local process?
Could it be that elsewhere, within another material context, an evolving
manifestation of consciousness has been effectuated without resorting to
duality?

116
We say: “Here behold the human nature, carrying its god and its devil
wherever it goes…!”

We justify horror and defeat.

Rather than spring forward and be reborn, free of all dualities.

Nevertheless it has indeed become crucial for the destiny of mankind and
the earth that we may at last imagine, conceive of and approach a force of
progress that will no longer depend on opposites, a force that will be as
conscious of the totality as of each of its parts and capable of true love.
For imagination is a channel which can become creative here itself.

The school of the universe

Could this issue of our isolation in the universe be also a key we were
holding in the twilight of our knowledge??

Have these worlds, which we qualify as subtle since one must leave the
matter of one’s body and environment in order to briefly enter them, some
material foundation somewhere in the infinity of the cosmos?

For if in effect, as we keep discovering, Matter is infinite, is it not one with

the Consciousness which is itself infinite?

And therefore would not these worlds, which we can only measure through
extraordinary or extrasensory “inner” experiences, have as well, somewhere,
their own material density?

It is the factual phenomenon of the body’s death that stands across in our
consciousness identified with its life.

And yet is it not the sense– a sort of innate certainty - that Life is
inextinguishable, that urges us and motivates us to search whatever of the
universe becomes accessible to us, the sense that we cannot possibly
represent to ourselves anything that does not already exist somewhere, the
sense that Life, the life of Consciousness, is evidently immortal?!

All these distinct worlds which our consciousness can sometimes accede to
or from which we receive the suggestions, formations and impressions that
contribute to our human behavior, up until these worlds of perfection beyond
all mixtures and variations, could we not reach them or attain them or enter
into a relation with them within the material universe as well?
A kind of short-cut that would thwart death?

118
Indeed, the death of this little body, its disintegration, produces the
cessation of our conscious existence in Matter, of our kinship with the
material universe.

How is this possible?

Suddenly alienated – by this absurd incident, this arbitrary intervention, this

incomprehensible and uncontrollable interference which has the power to
interrupt, to destroy, to part, to prevent?

To date it seems that most of the observable universe, according to our

present knowledge and instruments, eludes our grasp = we can neither
apprehend it nor understand it, since Matter appears there to behave
differently and to obey other laws.

We name it “dark matter” or “black hole”.

Some of us, who have been projected out of their bodies – either
deliberately through a controlled conscious practice, or accidentally through
a momentary clinical death, for instance – have sometimes found
themselves as if swept away at tremendous speed through some tunnel
which ended abruptly in a luminous reality and an incomparable state of
consciousness filled with presence, unconditional love and a total
comprehension, direct and free of thought.

Could there be some sort of analogy with a “black hole”, the crossing of an
impossible threshold beyond which spreads another space-time?

Likewise, in our innumerable creative exercises, we have located the

Adversary in its lair and endowed it with the invincible weapons and tools we

119
ourselves would wish to control, just like those magic arms and vessels used
by the protagonists of our millennial myths and legends.

For it does seem to us easier and more “natural” to narrate the hazards and
convolutions of adversity – the various versions of the “Evil’s empire” – with
which we maintain since very long intimate and familiar relations, rather
than to try and represent the True, the Right and the Vast – which might
appear insipid and boring.

Granted, we do piously wish for its advent, yet we do not actually open all of
our doors.

And so does the source of all horrors remain more accessible than that of
true Existence.

For very few amongst us have yet experienced a glimpse, a flashing bolt of
its plenitude, its richness of surprise and limitless discovery, its infallible
sight…

But there it is = we are placed upon this infinitesimal sphere in the infinite
space peopled with an infinity of possibilities – and on all of us is descending
an inflexible Demand – we must together find in ourselves the secret of
Unity and be reborn together to its Reality.

There is no other way.

Learning to be

But what do we mean by “unity”?

And, to begin with, the unity of what?

Human unity – peace, fraternity, friendship and collaboration amongst all

peoples, all cultures, all men and women?

The unity of all that is?

Is that an actual self-existing fact, which we have only to admit – if our

minuscule egos allow it?

Is it a fusion that is being sought, a great mix, an indeterminate cosmic

broth?

Is it in the image of our subconscious that mingles and churns and brews all
the impressions and memories without any respite or discernment, annulling
all meaning, all hope, all project or purpose?

Or is it a maturation, a development of the consciousness incarnated in

humanity that becomes capable of recognizing the divinity inherent in every
being, every force, and every element?

But are all living beings equally divine?

Can the divine dignity of a tiger be found in every human being?

What are the role and measure of complexity in the evolution of the
consciousness incarnate in terrestrial matter?

121
Are we all equal?

Few of our certainties survive the lucid scrutiny of a higher, impartial

perception.

Humility is perhaps the very first condition for our liberation from our own
exclusivisms and clamorous murderous judgments.

Finding the Guide

Justice.

For each of us a day comes when the question arises as to whether there is
any natural justice in this world, a justice which would explain the lucky, the
wealthy and the talented as the deprived and miserable, the victims and all
those who suffer.

And was there really any need to invent hell when so much hardship is
already borne by some upon this very earth?

Fate, chance, destiny, karmic causes, distribution of individual ordeals, to

which sort of justice must we refer = this issue is the major theme of our
civilized human quests.

We ourselves untiringly go on judging one another by the measures our

cultural, social, racial or religious conditionings provide or the criteria we
have adopted as ours = our atmosphere stinks with our opinions and
condemns – and this is the first pollution under our watch.

And yet who among us gracefully accepts the judgment made by another?
Thus it is that we perforce must lend to the Supreme God this inhuman
virtue = to be Just…!

But, as we know our own nature to be fundamentally egocentric, we also

must wish this God to be gifted with compassion – are we not all, without
exception, “sinners”?
Are we not all guilty to have, without exception, one day or another,
somehow hurt, harmed, betrayed, offended or misjudged another?

Have we not all, without exception, at some time or other of our own
itinerary, accumulated all sorts of debts?

123
*

The child struck with cancer = is it being punished?

What is this cruelty at work?

Who among us all has never wished upon another a suffering equal to that
which was inflicted on us?
Vengeance and retaliation?

Damnation.
The very notion of damnation = where did it come from?

The damned of the earth.

Is earth damned? The human species?

In principle, the soul, in the course of the psychic being’s silent development
through lifetimes, may choose an experience of extreme difficulty so as to
complement its acquired awareness and its ability to serve.

But can one possibly choose the abominable agony of a torn, tortured,
dismembered body?
Mayhaps, if the purpose is to reinforce one’s aptitude for the inner equality
of the deeper consciousness which is free of all bonds and knows itself
eternal…

Thus, this very horror too can facilitate an awakening of one’s awareness
and a release into the True, the incorruptible and permanent.

124
What is our lesson, the urgent lesson we must all learn today?

From the sage we expect that there will be a direct comprehension of who
we truly are, without the veils, to the very core of our being, that we will be
perceived and embraced without any judgment and led to the solution of our
conflicts and the truth of our existence.

But can every one of us today find one’s sage?

For it is of a very great and high wisdom that we are presently in need, an
immense wisdom that may watch actively over this manifestation and our
transition into a state more receptive to the necessary harmony.

There IS this Truth-Consciousness above, to which our bodies are often

more open than our reason ever is.

A little faith, a little trust, a little humility on our part and we can learn to
offer it all our movements and all our acts so that It may use them for the
greater Good.

To discern

Words, words…
Beautiful, noble phrases, lofty thoughts – that change not a thing anywhere.

For time is pressing and, so we think, we need to find tricks, recipes or

processes now to avoid and prevent disaster and to somehow repair the
damages.

My purpose here is to try and share these meditations, their inner density,
so that this communication may in turn trigger and arouse a contact and a
direct and unique experience in each reader.
Once this contact is lit, so to say, it is up to each one to manage one’s own
opening and conduct.

The changes that are urgently called for in the collective consciousness of
humanity do not have to depend on big actions, but on a sufficiently broad
receptivity, a commitment sufficiently conscious, an orientation sufficiently
shared.

It is for each one of us to turn in the right direction.

It is the association within each individual of a thirst for truth with the
resolve to learn now itself to live more consciously every moment of our
existence upon this material earth, that is effective – and will be so more
and more rapidly, beyond a critical threshold which we have yet to reach.

To live more consciously every instant given each of us.

126
*

We need to come out of the deleterious rails and ruts that still determine our
behavior = we need to SEE them and their absurdity.

And to that end we need to examine these laws and morals that dictate our
choices.

For instance, it is commonly understood that each one of us must “earn

one’s living”.
And today the insanity of this proposition is so reinforced, ramified, detailed,
perfected and inscribed that the economic status of an individual takes
precedence on every other aspect and that even the teenager is expected to
hold a credit card.

Since when are we the serf of this tyranny?

Since the exploding of the tribes?

What then is the ideal, or rather the mode of material existence, towards
which we need to strive, so as to free ourselves from those structural
harnesses and criteria of appreciation that compel us to conform to given
images and models?
This more real mode of living the pursuit of which encourages our search for
our own genuine capacities at the service of a collective harmony of creative
solidarity = how to hasten its advent, practically?

Whenever an individuality, a human person, exercises an activity that

corresponds to one’s own unique aptitudes, a natural alignment occurs which
generates well-being, balance and the sense of participating in a universal
order.

It is this alignment and it is this coherence that are lacking in our

contemporary societies and it is their absence that corrodes the foundations
of our collective and individual integrity.

But without this natural alignment of the individuality, expressing and

corresponding to its own uniqueness, it is much more difficult to become
receptive to the Truth-Consciousness.

127
*

Integral ecology.

And then there is too this other “duty”, this primary goal, for the
accomplishment of which one must, precisely, succeed in the previous one =
“to found, or start, a family…!”

This civilizing compromise between our animal nature, our egotism and our
progress towards a higher consciousness is ensconced in our lives and
determines our apprehension of the world and the others with a sort of
untouchable perpetuity = we perceive ourselves as illegitimate, abnormal
and outlaws if we happen to fail to observe these rules, unless we have
taken religious vows of chastity and celibacy.

Masculine virility, feminine fecundity, the functions and qualities expressing

each of the respective roles are as many banners each one of us must bear
throughout one’s adult, “productive” life and one’s self-esteem if hostage to
one’s aptitude at illustrating them.

A fair and comely milch cow and a big muscled bull.

Is not it absurd, however, when the probable duration of our individual life is
so brief, to so much worry about biological fruition and so little about the
progress of our consciousness?

Each and every child born upon this earth must be cherished, surrounded,
sustained, nourished and environed by the most complete harmony we are
in a position to provide for it.

See and behold = are we not all, in fact, a single community?

128
If today the human species is in danger of being annihilated, of disappearing
or of succumbing to an earth-nature turned hostile, it is surely not due to
excessive diminution of its members – but to the consequences of their
enslavement to the Devourer.

Let us care for those who are present in the body, let us work for the
establishment of a durable harmony – and the time will come when it will be
possible to take birth in this world with more light, force and love.

It is for each one to recover and awaken, at the service of All.

It is for each one to wash one’s eyes and to see.

Free workers

To see with the consciousness.

To see true.

Indeed, many then are the constructs that collapse, the formations that
empty and the notions that flounder.

We do need to cultivate this other discernment, which can no longer be

corrupted or regimented, which may remain free and grow more and more
conscious and present and alert.

Before one is a man, a woman, a child, an elderly, each of us is first a

breath of soul, a bud of soul, a force of soul.

Because the human species is still bound to animality, because it has not yet
found the cellular and organic passage to an asexual body and to a principle
of autonomy directly receptive to the Consciousness-Force, we are still
forced, at the formative stage of the embryo, to sexually differentiate and to
endorse one kind rather than the other and, later on, to cope with its
identity brand throughout our lives and journeys.

But even so compelled and stowed, we each retain the freedom of the soul,
the eye of the soul, the prescience of the soul and can recover its
sovereignty – if there is the will.

Death is the ultimate horror we must learn to transcend, in life itself and in
Matter, until we become capable of continuous progress and free to choose
and withdraw at will, without any waste or loss of consciousness.

130
And more than any other horror, it prods us on and escorts every one of our
steps = it impels us to grow.

Without death, would we ever want, would we ever experience the need to
progress?

Such is our littleness, our weakness, our poverty = death is still

indispensable so we may rise out of inertia.

May the awakening be spreading everywhere!

May the braziers of vigor stand firm!

May the cowl of hypnosis melt away!

May this race hear the call!

May Earth smile and prosper!

Note: this text was originally written in French and completed on January 11,
2019. It has taken me many weeks to re-write it in English and many telling
events have taken place in the world during that period – some encouraging and
some distressing – and the pace is evidently on the increase.
Perhaps what is most needed is for humanity to recover, or to find anew, the
sense of the sacredness of all that is – the utter, absolute sacredness of all.
Then we shall be home.
