324 Holy Hours were kept before the Blessed Sacrament this past week. “A
monstrance is designed to draw attention to Christ’s Body as its center; it
comes from a Latin word meaning “to show.” The beauty and specific design
is for the true presence of Christ to dwell within it and to display God’s
presence to a world in darkness. The design often looks as though there are
almost “rays of light” beaming forth from the Eucharistic center. This is intentional,
meant to demonstrate the fact that Christ’s glory is shining forth to the world. (Mark
Hart, Life Teen.)
The following are our current vacant hours, could you consider filling a spot
and spend time with our Lord, Wednesday 2-3am and Friday midnight-1 and 2-3am.
Please call Joie at 330-75-6852 for your hour of adoration.

Presentation of the Lord

In today’s Gospel, Mary & Joseph present Jesus in the temple where he is consecrated
or set apart to serve the Lord. Each of us is consecrated in our baptism to serve God’s
purpose and then molded by God in our family. Take time to talk and pray together
about seeking and following God in our homes and lives.

This Sunday we celebrate World Day for Consecrated Life. We recognize and give thanks for those
who have consecrated their lives to God and the Church through the vows of poverty, chastity, and
obedience. The consecrated life is one way that women and men live out their baptismal
commitment as followers of Jesus. Please pray for Fr. David, Fr. Bill, Fr. Mike & Sister Nan and all
those who have made commitments in the consecrated life, and be sure to thank them on their
special day.

The 2020 Catholic Charities Appeal will take place

next weekend in our parish. Please refer to the insert
in this week’s bulletin which includes our parish’s
goal and an overview of the importance of Catholic Charities in our communities. This year’s
appeal theme is Faces of Hope. Your generous support will transform the lives of others, to
offer dignity, possibilities and companionship to those who are most vulnerable.
As in the past, an in-pew process will take place next weekend, February 8-9. All who
have not received the mailing from Bishop Perez, or have not had a chance to respond to it, will
be asked to consider making a generous pledge to support the ministries and services provided
by Catholic Charities. If you have received the mailing, please respond generously to it and we
ask you to also complete the in-pew envelope and indicate by checking the box that you have
responded by mail.
We invite you to view stories of inspiration and more information at
CatholicCommunity.org/2020Appeal. To make a donation today, text CCHOPE to 41444 or
visit CatholicCommunity.org/Donate.
Pastors Pick of the Week: “The Jeweller’s Shop: A Modern Mystery by Pope John Paul II
Based on Pope John Paul II’s best-selling book, this film tells of the struggles and triumphs
in the marriages of three couples. A mysterious Jeweller (Burt Lancaster) acts as a mystical advisor
to the couples, encouraging them to keep love at the center of their lives. Beautifully filmed with an
outstanding cast that includes: Olivia Hussey and Ben Cross. John Paul II called it “the best possible
film based on my play.”

others. If you missed the collection, it’s not too late to give! Visit
www.usccb.org/nationalcollections. Your gift makes a difference!
