Swans

Swans are a genus of birds aquatic big belonging to the family Anatidae . They can be
recognized by the curved neck (the highest number of cervical vertebrae of
all vertebrates ), and after the plumage of white (or black for some species). In Romania
are dated 4 species: whooper swan (Cygnus cygnus), summer swan (Cygnus
olor) and swan small (Cygnus columbianus); in zoos in our country is common black
swan (Cygnus atratus). Swans feed on plants, algae, grass, roots, but sometimes also
eat small aquatic creatures. Most birds do not have teeth, but swans have serrated
beak with small sharp corner, by which catch food. Swan body consists of head, trunk
and limbs. The head has two lids 3 eyes, a nose with two nostrils, and two ears with
flags. The trunk ends with a long tail feathers and countries. Forelimbs (wings) serve for
flight and hind (legs) are adapted to walking and covered with scaly skin, which shows
their relatedness with reptiles. They are short and claw toes: 3 fingers directed forward
and one backward. In the northern hemisphere , plumage species of swans is white
pure (with the notable exception of Cygnus atratus in Austria that is completely dark
gray, but is a variety adopted local black swan in Australia), but species southern
hemisphere have mixed colored, white and black. For example, the
swan Australian known popular black swan (Cygnus atratus) is completely black except
for some white feathers on the wings of his, that in South America there is a species
called swan with black back (Cygnus melancoryphus) having neck black.
The legs of all varieties are dark gray, with the exception of two species of South
America that are pink. The colors beaks ranges from dark yellow intense, even red to
black. Thus four species subarctic beaks with different amounts of yellow black, while
the swan moves and the neck black and red beaks, each having a lump to the base.

This four species:

(Cygnus cygnus) (Cygnus olor)

(Cygnus columbianus) (Cygnus atratus)
