To the Executive Council of the Washington University Postdoctoral Society:

I, ______________________________, hereby state my intention and desire to be an active member on

the Executive Council of the Washington University Postdoctoral Society. Should I be approved as a
member of said council, I promise my active participation and that I will promptly notify the Secretary of
my need to be excused from the meetings of said council. I acknowledge that, as per Article IX of the
Bylaws of the Washington University Postdoctoral Society entitled “Officer and Non-Officer Executive
Council Member Removal and Vacancies”:

a. Neglect of responsibilities by Executive Council (EC) members may result in removal

from the position held.
b. The EC will determine by a vote if an EC member who misses three consecutive
meetings without prior notification to the Secretary may be removed from the WUPS
position held.
c. An EC member missing one meeting without prior notification to the Secretary shall
receive a show cause notice from the Secretary. Upon missing the third consecutive
meeting the EC member will be given notice 2 weeks prior to a vote by the EC to remove
that EC member.
d. For removal from office a 2/3 majority +1 vote by the EC must be obtained.
e. In the event of a vacancy of an officer or non-officer position, a midterm election will be
held by the EC with a simple majority vote to fill the vacancy until the next regular
election.
