REFLECTION FOR NSTP 2 ACTIVITIES

REFLECTION # 1: 1/16/20
Today, I brought my donations to school which contained clothes, blankets, pillows and
shoes to be used by the people affected by the ash eruption of the Taal volcano in
Batangas. After my class, we started repacking the goods. The Thames scholars
alongside Nika and Rika repacked 150 plastics that contained rice, canned goods,
water, cup noodles, coffee and biscuits; each plastic was for one family. During the
repacking, I was in charge of the water bottles and canned goods. Also, I noticed that
some of the students who are not part of the Thames scholars also helped. Honestly, I
was shocked and at the same time, it felt really good. I cannot believe that there are a
lot of people who are willing to help, that people do still really care. We all helped out
each other then transported the goods at the Office of Student Administration, near Sir
Emman’s office. It was a really good experience and it was worth it.

REFLECTION # 2: 1/17/20
I was not expecting to help since I was not notified by the team leaders, Nika and Rika
though today, we loaded the goods outside of the office. I carried the 300 plastics
outside and after that, we did a headcount of each. Also, we separated the rice and
placed it in a plastic per kilogram, since, people brought rice in sacks. This was a tiring
day because the goods were really heavy especially the rice, bottles of water and
canned goods, though it was worth it. I just had to remind myself during difficult times
that at the end of the day, someone will use this, someone needs this, and it will make
someone smile. This taught me that I am really lucky that I was not affected by the
calamity, though it is really good to give back to people and help them, especially in
times like this. Sharing my blessings even in the littlest ways can go far, it can help a
family survive. It does not matter on how big a donation is, what’s important is the effort
someone did.
