A Father’s Love

The calloused hands that held me as a child

The protector of my youthful heart
One of the many who loves me dearly
One of the persons who makes me happy
A good provider, mentor and friend
The coolest father one can have
He was a stern, strong man
Full of power and pride
However, he never looks for praises
He is never one to boast
He would give advice and understand
He was always there to lend a hand
He was the best, the perfect man I must say
The love he has was rare; a strength beyond compare
He was forgiving when you did something bad
He was the greatest teacher in life
He taught me respect, wrong and right
Everything is right and everyone is fine
But the day had come, when your married life got cold
It was never easy for a daughter to see his father go
I can still recall the very day you left
The family I once have suddenly was not kept.
I realized, a father was never perfect.
But the love they have for their child is what makes them the best.
