UC: CONDUCT COMPETENCY ASSESSMENT

Task: You will conduct a competency assessment in your area of expertise. Before the assessment
activity you are requested to prepare a Written report on how you intend to conduct the competency
assessment. Use the following statements/questions as your guide in preparing your report. Provide a
TITLE of your report. You have 20 minutes to perform the task.

1. What is it that you should do prior to the assessment activity? (3 pts)

2. What will you explain during the orientation of the candidates? (5 pts)
3. What is the purpose of giving orientations to the candidates? (2 pts)
4. How do you make sure that the candidate taking the assessment is the same person in the
application form? (1 pts)
5. How do you make sure that the candidate understands the task to be performed? (2 pts)
6. What are the DO’s and DON’T’s of an assessor while observing the candidates performing the
tasks? Why? (5 pts)
7. During interview or oral questioning, when the candidate’s answer is wrong, do you provide the

8. What should be the basis of your assessment decision? If you are in doubt, what would you do?
