Debate Reflection

1) I learned that you have to back up your argument with facts and make sure you try to see
things from their perspective. Also, you need to try to relate your ideas to their morals.
That way, they don’t need to compromise their integrity, but they still can get behind
your argument. This is a strategic way to get someone to agree with you during an
argument.
2) I learned many different ways of arguing. This helped me improve my argument and use
new techniques to prove my point. One thing I learned was that if you appeal to the
emotions of your audience, they are more likely to follow your side. On the other hand,
facts are facts. The audience will need to take the emotional and factual side of yours and
your opponent’s arguments, and decide their viewpoint from there.
