Characteristics of Solid, Liquid and gas

Objectives:
In this lesson, you should be able to:
 Identify the solid, liquid and gases;
 Describe different objects based on their characteristics; and
 Ca make a graphic organizer about 3 states of matter.

People usually define matter simply as anything that occupy space and has mass but the they
should know that it is present and can be seen everywhere. It has three states: the solid, liquid and gas.
Matter is very important because people can usually made of matter and everything in the universe.
Matter are required by all living things to grow, reproduce and maintain biological processes.

There are some people who are often confused the difference among solid, liquid and gas.
There are so many questions regarding the three like that what are the three states of matter made up
of? How can we differentiate the solid, liquid and gas from each other? What are the examples of solid,
liquid and gas?

Warm-up

Materials:

 1 manila paper
 Marker
 Masking Tape

Procedure:

1. Group yourself into 5

2. From a circle with you group
3. Prepare your materials that are needed
4. Using a manila paper draw a graphic organizer about 3 states of matter
5. Give 1 example of solid, liquid ad gas
6. Give also their shape, weight, volume and ease of flow
7. After you finish the activity paste your work on the board
8. Choose at least one representative to present your work.

Learn About it

Matter is a substance that has inertia and occupies physical space. Matter is anything, such as a
solid, liquid, and gas, that has weight (mass) and occupies space. For anything to occupy space, it must
have volume. Matter is everything aroumd us. Atoms and compounds are all made of very small parts of
matter. Those atoms go on to build that things you see and touch everydat.
