WIPTEC 213 - ETCH WASH PRIMER

DESCRIPTION Etch wash primer is meant for use on non-ferrous

metals. It is specially formulated for passivating the
metal and improves the adhesion of the subsequent
primer and finish coatings. It is recommended as a
temporary primer on blast cleaned mild steel surfaces.
On mild steel substrate, it adds to overall performance
of the coating system.

RECOMMENDED USE Used on aluminium cladding, galvanized surfaces and metals

sprayed on steel surfaces. It is also used on mild steel surfaces
for preparation. It is recommended as a primer coat for epoxy
systems where blast cleaning of the surface is not possible.
TYPE Two pack, cold curing.

APPLICATION By brush, roller, conventional or airless spray.

MIXING RATIO Base: Accelerator 1: 1 by volume.

DRYING TIME Surface Dry : 10 -15 mins.

Hard Dry : 2 Hours.

RECOAT INTERVAL Overnight.

POT LIFE 4 hours.

RECOMMENDED DFT 6 to 8 microns per coat.

FINISH Matt.

COLOUR Yellow.

THEORETICAL COVERAGE 6 to 8 Sq Metres/litre at 8 microns.

FLASH POINT Above 22 Deg. C.

THINNER Not recommended.

STORAGE Upto 9 months as long as the sealed containers are kept

Under cover in a dry place at room temperature.
