Vallenato Festival,

Hello everybody my name is Daniel yanes and I'm going to talk to you about one of the
most important festivities in Colombia which take place in my city Valledupar. As you can
guess I'm talking about Vallenato Festival.

It is a celebration that usually is celebrated in the end of the month of April and the begging
of May. The main activity is the contest to choose the Vallenato King for the year. In order
to select the new king, the contestants have to play the accordion on its four airs: puya,
merengue, paseo and son. At the end of the competition there will be one winner.

It is very interesting that this competition is developed in different categories like

professional, amateur, young’s and kids.

Besides, to start the Festival there is a wonderful parade with the typical dancing called Las
Piloneras. There are also many concerts and cultural activities so it is a great celebration.

Finally, I want to invite to all of you to come to my city Valledupar specially during the
