Ten Steps to a Good Rhetorical Analysis:

Revising Checklist

If you answer "no" to any of these questions, please YES NO

correct your errors.


Is the first sentence a hook that grabs the reader's
attention?
Is the thesis sentence the last sentence in the first
paragraph? (It should be!)
Is there a topic sentence for each of the first, second,
and third body paragraphs?
Do each of the body paragraphs begin with a transition?
(First, second, next, in addition to)
Are there four body paragraphs? (synopsis of the
documentary, logo, pathos, ethos)
Is the rewritten thesis sentence the first sentence in the
last paragraph?
Does your concluding paragraph include additional sentences
after the thesis statement which give a sense of closure to your
paper?
Is the essay written in third person? If you see the word(s) "I,"
"me," "us," "you," "your," or "you're" used anywhere, change
them to third person (one, a person, they, people, individuals,
etc.).
Do you have a Works Cited page?

Does this paper meet the length requirement?
