Land Area
Rizal Park lays on a 48 hectares rectangle-shaped land divided into three sections. In the Northeast
section, adjoining Taft Avenue is the Agrifina Circle, 16 hectares in area, where the National Museum of
Anthropology and the recently renovated National Museum of Natural History are located; followed by
the Central Section, a 22-hectare land, extending down to Roxas Boulevard, and hosting the Rizal
Monument; and the Southwestern Section, a 10-hectare open field, terminating with the Quirino
Grandstand and the Manila Ocean Park along Manila Bay.
Plan
Rizal Park has a distinctive Latin cross layout, one of the classical values adopted in the famous Movement
of City Beautiful by Architect Urban Planner Daniel Burnham.
Height
The park is relatively flat but has several manmade structures; among these is the National Museum of
Natural History which is 6 storey high, with an estimated height of 20 meters. The Rizal Monument itself
is 13 meters tall.
Plants
Rizal Park boasts 3,497 trees (2015) belonging to 112 variety of tree species, most of these trees are
located in the Central Section.
