 About the band

The Hyperevolved are a seven piece jazzy jam band renowned for their live shows and

their ability to stretch their songs and change arrangements on the fly. They have five

songs that they intend to record and release as an EP.

Because of their style and musical skills, recording a live album is the best way to

maintain their natural jazzy sound. The band will be rehearsing before coming to the

studio to discuss the length of each song, and who would take solos. Other than that,

the success of the recording is up to their technical knowledge and improvisational

skills.

 Recording studio and equipment

The album will be recorded, mixed and mastered in the Audio Empire Recording Studio,

located in Halifax, NS.

The instruments used are a Nord stage 3 keyboard, upright bass, electric guitar, drums,

saxophone, clarinet, and trumpet.

Some of the equipment that is going to be used for this recording is: amplifier for the

guitar (Fender Twin Reverb) and a mic for the amp; amplifier for the keyboard and a mic

for recording it; mic for the upright bass, saxophone, clarinet, trumpet, drums.

 Mixing and mastering

Each song should take approximately 2 hours to record, in total it would be 10 hours of

recording (could it be less). Because of the nature of the recording (live), and the

number of tracks used (approximately 10), the sound engineer shouldn't be working

more than an hour in mixing each song. A live recording doesn't need as much editing,
and all the instruments should be tonally mixed before hitting record. A total of 5 hours

for mixing.

Mastering the track should take around 20 minutes per song, if not less.
