The Bacau Police Headquarters has been part of the external units from the General

Directorate of Police since 1929. It had, in its structure, an administrative police office, a judicial
police office and a security office, each headed by a police officer. In Bacau, the Headquarters
included police commissariats, and in the county the most important were operating in Tg. Ocna,
Moinesti, Comanesti and Slanic Moldova. The duties of the Headquarters include: ensuring the
measures of public order on public roads and in crowded areas, institutional guarding, detection of
state security offenses, as well as supervision of foreign people. Through this form of organization
of the institution, it was actually intended to ensure a safe climate for citizens, defense of national
interests, sovereignty and territorial integrity.
