1. Assists the Supervising Chemist in the efficient
25% facilitation of all operational activities at the
fertilizer section.

2. Prepares and maintains all the laboratory


20% procedures and protocols relevant to the analysis
of fertilizer products which include but not
limited to micronutrients and heavy metal
contaminants using Flame or Graphite Furnace
Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer (F/GF-
AAS); and Plant Growth Regulators (PGR) using
Chromatography.

3. Conduct laboratory analyses according to the


15% testing procedure using different analytical
techniques and instruments which include but not
limited to AAS and chromatography.

5. Ensures fertilizer samples are prepared and
10% analyzed based on the approved protocols.

volumetric glassware and plastic ware are
maintained and calibrated and reports all
deficiencies such as malfunctions for appropriate

immediate supervisor for appropriate actions.

Conduct/ perform chemical analyses for fertilizer and pesticide samples for
registration and monitoring purposes;

Establish laboratory protocols, working procedures and quality assurance on


the analytical testing of fertilizer and pesticide products; and

Assist in the preparation of technical materials on fertilizers and pesticides


for policy formulation.

22. Describe briefly the general function of the position

Assists the Supervising and Chief Chemists and in-charge in the efficient
operation of the whole Fertilizer Laboratory Section through but not limited
to direct supervision of all analysts of fertilizer products, handles fertilizer
laboratory analysis and ensures that all laboratory processes are managed and
maintained at the fertilizer section.
