village near the forest. Whenever she went out, the little girl
wore a red riding cloak, so everyone in the village called
her Little Red Riding Hood.
When the basket was ready, the little girl put on her red
cloak and kissed her mother goodbye.
"What are you doing out here, little girl?" the wolf asked
in a voice as friendly as he could muster.
The wolf let himself in. Poor Granny did not have time
to say another word, before the wolf gobbled her up!
Almost too late, Little Red Riding Hood realized that the
person in the bed was not her Grandmother, but a hungry
wolf.
He grabbed the wolf and made him spit out the poor
Grandmother who was a bit frazzled by the whole
experience, but still in one piece."Oh Grandma, I was so
scared!" sobbed Little Red Riding Hood, "I'll never speak to
strangers or dawdle in the forest again."
Little red riding hood is set to visit her grandmother’s house who “lived
out in the wood, half a league from the village”. Her house is described as
standing under 3 large oak trees and a nut tree just below it.
CHARACTER:
Mother
The mother told her daughter to visit her sick grandmother and take her
some cake with a bottle of wine. She advises her daughter to not run off the
path as she can fall and break the bottle.
Grandmother
She was sick and her grand-daughter came to visit her with some food.
Wolf
The wolf ran to the grandmothers house, pretending to be ‘little red riding
hood’. He entered grandmother’s house and devoured her, dressing up in her
clothing and lay in her bed. He ate little red riding hood too and went back
to sleep. The end he dies due to heavy stones in stomach.
Huntsman
He hears loud snoring’s from grandmothers house. He enters the house and
sees the wolf so he cuts his stomach to save grandmother and little red riding
hood.
PLOT:
There once was a girl who was loved by everyone around her but
mostly her grandmother. She was known as “little red riding hood” due to the
red velvet hood she wore. One day her grandmother was ill so she “took
cake and a bottle of wine”. She was told not to run off the path as she can
fall and break the bottle.
CONFLICT:
On her way into woods she meets a wolf which she is not scared of.
The wolf asks where she is going and little red riding hood says “to my
grandmothers.” The wolf makes the girl busy by telling her to look around as
there was “pretty flowers growing everywhere and birds singing.” Meanwhile,
as the girl picks some flowers for her grandmother the wolf ran to the
grandmothers house, pretending to be ‘little red riding hood’. The
grandmother was to sick to open the door and so the wolf acting like little
red riding hood entered the house. He devoured the grandmother and
dressed in her clothing and lay in her bed. When little red riding hood came
she realized something strange.
RESOLUTION:
The nearby huntsman heard the noise and believed something strange
was occurring. He entered the house to see if everything is fine and saw the
wolf. He wanted to fire at the wolf but thought he may have devoured
grandmother. To save grandmother he got the scissors and cut the wolves
stomach open. Luckily, the grandmother and girl was saved safely. The girl
got stones and placed them in the wolves belly and when he got up to run
away, it was so heavy he collapsed and fell dead. The girl learnt her lesson:
“As long as I live, I will never leave the path by myself to run into the wood,
when my mother has forbidden me to do so.” Once again the girl was taking
food to her grandmother and a wolf approached her but she had learnt her
lesson.
