Henri Matisse was born on December

21,1869 in Le Cateau, Picardy, France. He was often

regarded as the most important French painter of the 20th
century.
He’s known for his use of color and his fluid and original
draughtsmanship. Aside from being a painter, he was also a
draughtsman, printmaker and sculptor.
