What is the importance of biodiversity to ecosystems?

Introduction

Biodiversity is a key to an ecosystem’s stability. The more diverse an


ecosystem is, the more it is stable.

Objectives:
1. Differentiate low from high biodiversity.
2. Give advantages of high over low biodiversity.
3. Identify ecosystems with low and high biodiversity
4. Predict what will happen to an ecosystem with low biodiversity.

Materials

Photos of different localized ecosystems


Pencil/ball pen
Manila paper (by group )

Procedure/Observation

1. Get photos of various localized ecosystems from your teacher.


2. Together with your group mates,identify which of them have high or low
biodiversity.

Q1. Which ecosystem/s have high biodiversity? low biodiversity?


3. Study the photo below
