Girlfriend: Babe, our company is looking for a new financial director. I think you should apply.

Boyfriend (FD): That’s a good position, what happen to your former FD?
Girlfriend: Well, sadly our existing FD passed away. Send me your resume so I can give it
tomorrow to our HR.
Boyfriend (FD): Okay, babe.
HR: Our office welcomes you today as you start working with us. May we have great time
together, simply enjoy our team and work hard.
FD: Thank you again for this exciting opportunity, ma’am.
HR: Good luck and welcome aboard.
Co-worker 1: Hello (FD). We heard that our company just hired you to be a part of our growing
team. Congratulations and in behalf of our members and supervisors, we would like to welcome
you. We are all happy and excited for the upbringing of our company.
FD: I’m glad to be part of the team too. Hope we all get along and have a great time together.
(Smiles)
Co-worker 2: by the way, here are all the papers that you will need in preparing the annual
statutory accounts. If you have any questions feel free to ask any of us.
FD: Thank you for this. Nice to meet you two.
MD: Come in. How you are doing and how you are settling in.
FD: I am doing great and I have settled in quickly as the people here are really friendly.
MD: That’s great. As everyone knows, the rules accountants are taught can't cope with all
circumstances you will encounter when it comes to working in a commercial environment. By
the way, what brings you here?
FD: I have discovered something regarding the property taxes.
MD: (Laughs) Yes, this is a strange one. For some reason, ABC Ltd has never received a notice
for the past 8 years. The former FD was always prudent though, and each year put through an
estimated expense for property taxes. This is necessary because at some time in the future there
is the possibility that the company will receive an assessment.
FD: To be honest ma’am, I feel unease with this.
MD: That's the kind of thing you encounter every day in business as I am sure you know. You
seem to me like the kind of person who can cope with the rough and tumble - that's why I
employed you. Off you go and do the calculations for this year - and I don't mind at all if you put
in a bit of extra prudence in the accrual calculation if that will help.
FD: But ma’am maybe I can find a ways or solution to our problem. If we don’t do anything
about it now and the local authorities found out about it there might be a bigger consequences
that we would have to face and it would have a negative image to our company.
MD: You’re right, I haven’t thought about that. Well thank you for bringing that up with me, if
there is anything that I can do to help don’t hesitate to ask. Update me for any solution and we’ll
put it into action.
FD: Okay, ma’am. I’ll get back to you as soon as I can. Thank you again for hiring me, I’ll make
sure you won’t regret it.
Shakes hand
End.
