During this time it has increased its circulation to over 6000 subscriptions per year, has achieved Medline recognition and in 2008 obtained an impact factor of 2.056. The Journal is owned by the Association of Coloproctology of Great Britain and Ireland. Itis affiliated to this society an also to the European Society of Coloproctology and the Spanish Society of Coloproctology. Its main aim is to Publish high quality original articles in the field of colorectal disease. It is multidisciplinary and international ‘At the Editors’ meeting held on March 27" at which the Chairman of the Editorial Board and the Editors were present, your name received strong support for membership of the Advisory Board of Colorectal Disease. We are therefore delighted to invite you to become a member. We enclose a list of commitments of Advisory Board members to the Journal. Essentially they comprise an undertaking to support the Journal through submission of at least one article to the Journal per year, promoting the Journal in your country and encouraging subscriptions in your area or in societies in which you have influence. The Editors would hope to be able to call on your help and expertise as necessary. The appointment will be for a period of three years with an option of a further two years subject to the discretion of the Editorial Board, during which time you will, of course, be entitled to receive a complimentary subscription to the journal Ifyou are able to accept we would be delighted.
