Social impact of the proposed project is one of the advantage of the Redevelopment of Calbayog

Seaport. One main sector of the maritime industry is the crewing and manning of seafarers the industry
includes companies that provide employment to Filipino seafarers on board. Another challenge is to
strengthen the long-term commitment of the seafarers. Throughout their career they are exposed to
physical stress. Among others, they are confronted with exhaustion and heavy workloads. These are the
common reasons why many seafarers return to land-based jobs once they have acquired sufficient
funds. The project can ease the means of transportation of inter-island affairs and can cater large
volume of passengers and goods. With it’s capability the role of the community and the local
government helps to educate the importance of Redevelopment of Calbayog Seaport.
