Reaction Paper on "Disaster Preparedness Demo-Training: Fire Drill and Earthquake

Drill"

Disaster can occur on unexpected moments, sometimes, it doesn't even gives a

warning. Therefore being prepared for what might come, will surely help you to
overcome the devastating effect of a disaster that might happen from anytime and
anywhere. As student, a citizen and of course a member of our family, I must ensure my
safety and the safety of people around me whenever the disaster might strike. And to do
that, I need to know what I should have to do during those times.

The Disaster Preparedness Demo-Training: Fire Drill and Earthquake Drill

seminar that occurs this last November 23 of the present year at Isabela State University-
Main Campus, gave us students a lot of essential knowledge and safety prevention tips
that we can apply to become safe and even save others when there are disaster. The
Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation that has been taught step-by-step during the seminar
will be very useful, in case of when someone is in-need of the said emergency procedure.

As well as the information that's been disseminated in regard of the common

forms or source of disaster, which are the earthquake and fire. In earthquake, the
infamous "duck, cover and hold" has been discussed. Although it is widely known, they
never failed to remind us that it is what should be done during earthquakes.

While in regard of house fires, the speaker spoke about their movements on
making sure that everyone is safe from it. Their demo on how to properly use a fire
extinguisher is helpful, as most of us doesn't really know how to use it. But what they
really highlighted is the practices on how to prevent fire outbreaks. In fact, they point out
that suppression of fires are just one-third of their job as BFP personnel. With the
significant information that they hand us, it gave us knowledge that keeps us away from
disaster vulnerability.
