Resources Appreciation Report

Overview:
Border Roads Organisation ( BRO ) , Project Brahmank ,Government of India has decided to upgrade
existing single lane road connectivity from Migging to at least two lane standards and some of these
stretches are proposed to be taken up through the assistance from BRO, Brahmank. The work would
be taken up for up gradation on corridor concept. Therefore, corridors include strengthening in
addition to widening to 2 lane/ 2 lane with paved shoulder standards in order to have a better facility
in a long continuous stretch.

Construction Phasing:
Keeping facts in mind about the extreme climatic conditions in the region, availability of narrow
ROW & issues in accessibility , following construction phasing shall be advisable;

Section-2: Near Pango Village to Ningging Village (From Ex.Chg. Km.13+560 to Ex.Chg
Km.35+000)

Base Camp Location:

A base camp and plants can be located at Palsi Village area from where, the construction material can
be transported towards Migging end & Tutting end, with 50% lead on either side of stretch.

Major Activities:

Being a road stretch in hilly/mountainous region, the new construction involves major activities of
Cutting & Filling, due to realignments proposed to ease the curves and other constraints along the
alignment.

Following are the major activities involved during execution-

1. Cutting/excavation in soft/hard soils.

2. Cutting/excavation in soft/hard rocks.
3. Earthwork in embankment.
4. Base construction-GSB.
5. Sub-base construction-WMM.
6. Plain cement concrete-all grades.
7. Reinforced cement concrete-all grades.
8. HYSD reinforcement cutting, bending & binding.
9. Bituminous courses.

Considering voluminous quantities of above listed items, to be executed in extreme climatic

conditions & difficult terrain, it will be certainly advisable to utilize departmental resources of BRO &
its ancillary execution units. This will save time to arrange outsourced procurement of resources. It
will also add to efficient utilization of locally available resources. Additionally, the execution related
issues may get addressed more efficiently as the manpower resources are well acquainted with local
environment & working conditions.

In line with the items & its huge quantities, as listed above, following resources will be required to
be deployed, which may be readily available with BRO;
