1 Conclusion

The work has been an effort to identify best suited scheduling of EV charging through
microgrids by using algorithms. The performance of used algorithms in current work mainly depend
upon various constraints. EV charging therefore is limited by factors such as capacity of microgrid. The
factor of capacity is further complicated by the fact that non-conventional energy sources for microgrid
such as solar PVs are extremely sensitive to weather patterns. Performance of applied algorithm
therefore is quite variable, and one algorithm may be quite effective in one condition and might be
totally in-effective in another conditions.

Similarly, another constraint related to microgrid is the capacity of grid to accommodate

number of EVs at a time. It can be a decisive variable in scheduling algorithm being a success or a
failure. Branch and bound algorithms have been found to be an effective tool in scheduling problem if
soft and hard constraints in microgrid are well managed. However, implementing hybrid algorithms
such as a combination of Jaya-BBA will provide an answer to existing constraints in current work. BBA
has been found to be a useful algorithm for conventional grids having a consistent supply whereas, these
algorithms have not been as useful in non-conventional energy grids.
