A Letter to Kobe Bryant

February 2, 2020

Dearest Kobe,

Like everyone else I am grieving. Sorry we have to let you and Gigi and the other passengers who passed

away last January 26, 2020 go. I’m sorry that you have to be gone for me to try to dig a little deeper so I

could know you. From all the things I’ve learn from watching your interviews, and watching all the tributes

and remembrance of you from your friends, family, and colleagues, I’ve learned how much you value

hard-work, and dedication to your craft and just the mere fact of trying to be the best in everything that

you do. It’s been a few days now that I’ve decided I would stop grieving, and will just focus on celebrating

yours and Gigi’s life when you we’re both still with us. By watching everything that’s on my feed on

Facebook and videos I can find about you on YouTube. I’m just amazed on how you impacted my life and

the other millions of people who watched you grew up playing the game you loved since childhood. We

are truly blessed to have witnessed how you transcended basketball even more than what it is right now.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart and farewell on your journey to Basketball Heaven.

Lovingly yours,

Russell
