APPLICATION FOR APPOINTMENT AS HEAD OF DEPARTMENT, PRIVATE AND

BUSINESS LAW

I wish to apply for the recently advertised position of Head of Department, Private and
Business Law, under the School of Law of your Institution. I am a Ph.D holder in law and
a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Jurisprudence and International Law, Faculty of
Law, Ebonyi State University, Abakiliki, Nigeria.

I am an aspiring mid-career academic that is hardworking and consistently committed to

academic excellence and pursuit. This is clearly reflected in my numerous, nationally and
internationally, well published learned papers in law.

Similarly, I have written and co-authored textbooks in law. Annexed to that, I have
delivered learned papers at different academic forum and taught many courses in law
such as Nigeria Legal System, Constitutional Law, Law of Contract, and so on, since I
took up appointment with Ebonyi State University in April 2001.

Apart from teaching and writing, I have administrative experience. For instance, I have
been Head of Department in more than one occasion, as well as, faculty representative
in several Senate Committees.

Also, I have been supervising under graduate and post graduate projects and thesis for
several years now. Couple with that, I have been an internal and external examiner in
law since 2013. Attached is my Curriculum Vitae and other relevant documents.
