Declamation

GUIDELINES:
1. The contest is open to all Senior High School Students Grade 11/12.
2. The participants can register to their English subject teachers.
3. The contestants shall wear costumes and use props to add to the atmosphere
of their
performance.
4. The participants shall be prepared and shall be on time on the day of the
contest.
(Late comers might not be entertained)
5. There will be 3 winners (1st place, 2nd place, and 3rd place)

MECHANICS:
1. The contestants shall be using only (1) declamation piece “The Rich Man and
The Poor Man”.
2. The piece shall be delivered within 3-5 minutes.
3. The attire or costume should be appropriate to the piece.
4. The participants should memorize the declamation piece.
5. Ranking system shall be used in determining the winners of the contest.
6. The decision of the board of judges is final and irrevocable.

CRITERIA:

40% - DELIVERY (Enunciation, Diction, Phrasing, Voice Projection)


30%- CHARACTER POTRAYAL (Expression, Gesture,
Attire/Costume)
20%- MASTERY (Memorization of the Piece)
10%- STAGE PRESENCE and AUDIENCE IMPACT
