Introduction to World Religion Rev. Fr. Dominador Duroy Jr.

I consider Rev. Fr. Dominador Duroy Jr. as one of the finest professor that we could ever
had. My Journey in entering to the world religion has been quiet tough yet entertaining. First and
foremost, Fr. Jun thought us that “Religion is not about REASONING, it’s all about VALUING” that quote
remained in my mind until now and someday I may say it to hundreds of people on my future parish.
Our professor has thought us the real significance of every religion in the world. Those religions that
we’ve discussed, marks that people were able to know their capacity as human beings. We are able to
conquer their basic information’s such as their Concept of God, Origin of human Life, Morality, Basic
Doctrines etc. What I like most of it is the morality of every religion because with those, we are capable
to apply it within our own self. Although we are Christians by birth, we have to consider these teachings
so we can enhance our lives. For instance, Hinduism teaches their faithful’s that their” Deeds will
determine their future life” and likewise, Buddhism ‘s morality teaches the law of karma and rebirth.
We, Filipinos have already adopted such teachings because we were influenced by the Chinese culture.
While. Our professor was discussing; I was able to reflect on how people or the one who begin those
religions contemplate and teach such ethics with the people.

As I conclude this reflection with our subject during the duration of the first semester, I
was enticed with the golden rule of Confucius: "Do not do on others what you do not wish for yourself”
this might sound cliché for others but this rule was the only one who catches my attention during our
discussion period. It will embark us to be a good steward of the earth and by knowing that we must
conquer our conscience so that we may do thing for other’s morality and dignity. Someday, we will
include these teachings with the people whom we know. Lastly, the three last religions that we’ve
discussed which are the Judaism, Christianly and Islam, were the same but know similar with their
doctrines. We praise and glorify a unique supreme being but in different aspects. I believe that all of us,
not bearing the same religion, are united by God like our professor has said. In this subject we may be
enlightening by these religions so that we are able to live as what God as commanded us.
