DIALOGUE
(At a campus event, Taufik and Dila met. Taufik is a second year student and Dila is a first year
student. They had met several times in the library but didn’t know each other. At this campus
event, they had the opportunity to get acquainted.)

Taufik : “Hello!”

Dila : “Hai!”
Taufik : “I think that we've met before in the library. Can I know more about you?”
Dila : “Yes, you can. My full name is Dila Rahmayanti. I’m a first year student at this
campus.”
Taufik : “Nice name, I’m Taufik, I’m the second year student at this campus. Nice to
meet you.”
Dila : “Nice to meet you too, Taufik.”
Taufik : “What can I call you?”
Dila : “You can call me Dila.”
Taufik : “Oh sure, Dila. How are you today? I see you're not so well.”
Dila : “I’m not so good. Because I am brokenhearted.”
Taufik : “Oh, I’m sorry Dila, I don’t know.”
Dila : “It’s okay. No problem.”
Taufik : “So, where do you come from?”
Dila : “I come from Ngawi.”
Taufik : “Then, where do you live now?”
Dila : “I live around the campus.”
Taufik : “Where’s your address?”
Dila : “Rungkut Asri Utara RL 3H No. 29.”
Taufik : “Ohh I see. Where’s your senior high school dila?”
Dila : “I’m from MAN 1 Ngawi.”
Taufik : “So, where were you born, Dila?”
Dila : “I was born in Ngawi.”
Taufik : “Oh alright, and what was your birth of date?”
Dila : “I was born on April, 4th 2000.”
Taufik : “So, are you 19 years old now?”
Dila : “Yeah of course!”
Taufik : “We've met before in the library, and I see you love books. If I may know, what
is your favorite book?”
Dila : “My favorite book is Hujan Matahari, it’s a collection of poetry and story about
life.”
Taufik : “Oh it’s look great and that’s a great book too. Do you like watch a movie too?”
Dila : “Yes I do. But not for anytime.”
Taufik : “What is your favorite movie?”
Dila : “My favorite movie is Hamtaro.”
Taufik : “Oh I see. That’s a great anime movie. How about action/romantic movie?”
Dila : “No, I don’t like that genre movie. I think that it isn’t me at all.”
Taufik : “Alright. Then I see you dress in violet color this night. Is that your favorite
color?”
Dila : “Yes, this is. I really love violet.”
Taufik : “Oh good. Are you hungry? let's continue this conversation in the food area.”
Dila : “Yes, im hungry, let’s go.” (walk to food area.)
Taufik : “What is your favorite food, Dila?”
Dila : “My favorite food is seafood.”
Taufik : “That’s nice, I think so. What is your favorite drink?”
Dila : “My favorite drink is mineral water.”
Taufik : “You’re so healty. By the way, what is your major?”
Dila : “My major is Environtmental Engineering.”
Taufik : “Why did you choose environmental engineering?”
Dila : “I chose Environmental Engineering because it was really good and promising
for the future, because nature never end with their damage. I also love nature and
currious about hazardous and toxic substance.”
Taufik : “That’s great argument. So what’s your favorite subject at there?”
Dila : “In this semester, My favorite subject is English.”
Taufik : “How about your English learning experience?”
Dila : “I studied English when I was in elementary school, I joined English debate
competition. Beside that, I also had English private tutoring. After that, I self-
taught English until now ”
Taufik : “Wow great. I am sorry dila, I forgot that I had important business to do. It’s
good to have a conversation with you. See you later”
Dila : “That’s okay. See you later, Taufik”

NARRATIVE

In a campus event that I was attending, I met a woman that I often met in the library. I
saw this woman isn’t in good condition, therefore I went to talk to her but I didn’t really know
this woman. So in this campus event, I had the opportunity to get to know her. We talked about
ourselves. The woman's name is Dila Rahmayanti and usually called Dila. She is from Ngawi.
She lives around the campus, which is addressed in Rungkut Asri Utara RL 3H No. 29. She
graduated from MAN 1 Ngawi. She was born in Ngawi on April 4th, 2000 and she’s 19 years
old now. Because I often met her in the library, I finally assumed that she really liked reading
books. And it turns out to be true that she likes books, she says that her favorite book is Hujan
Matahari, which contains a collection of poetry that tells the life. In addition, she also likes to
watch movies for a time. The film she likes is the anime film, Hamtaro. She doesn’t like
romantic films or action films because according to her, it doesn’t fit into her personality. She
said that her favorite color was violet, therefore she was dressed in violet at this campus event.
Because I was hungry, I invited her to go to the food area. On the trip, I asked about her favorite
food and drinks. She said that her favorite food is seafood, and she likes mineral water. I also
asked which major she came from. She told that she came from the Environmental Engineering
Department. I also asked why she’s choosing that major, and she told that she chosed
Environmental Engineering because it was really good and promising for the future, and
because nature never end with their damage. She love nature and currious about hazardous and
toxic substance. Iam so salute with her argument. She also added that she likes English in her
semester now. She explained that she studied English when she was in elementary school, and
then she joined English debate competition. Beside that, she also had English private tutoring.
And for me, that’s a great English learning experience. After that, a friend of mine contacted
me because there was an important matter. So, I apologized to her for not being able to eat and
then said goodbye to go.
