    World War I, also known as the First World War or the Great War, was a global war originating in

    Europe that lasted from 28 July 1914 to 11 November 1918.

    The Allies (mainly Britain, France, US) won WW1 which happened from 1914-1919. Germany
    was the main loser, along with Austria - Hungary, The Ottoman Empire, and the other Central
    Powers and also Russia, although Russia withdrew from the war early due to civil war issues at
    home.
