Given The line graph illustrates the amount of cCarbon dDioxide (CO2) produced per person
capita in four different European cCountries between 1967 and 2007. Overall, the emissions Formatted: Not Highlight
in the UK and Sweden decreased over the period, while the production of CO2 in Italy and
Portugal experienced an increase.

Looking first at the data from the UK and SwedenFirstly, we can see that the emissions of Formatted: Highlight
CO2 in the United KingdomUK went downdropped stably steadily from … metric tonnes to …
metric tonnes throughout the period in these years, despite the fact that it the emissions
was still the highest data in the same period. As for Sweden, after the a sharp increase of
emissions in 1977, from about 8.5 metric tonnes to over 10 metric tonnes, it declined
significantly to 5 metric tonnes in 2007. . Actually, the average CO2 emission in Sweden had
become the least among the four countries, about 5 tonnes, as shown in the graph.

Turn to the second termRegarding the emissions from Italy and Portugal, the average Formatted: Highlight
emission of CO2 tonnes in Italy and Portugal kept rising in the 40 yearsduring the
timeframe, from 4 metric tonnes to 8 metric tonnes and 1 metric tonnes to 5 metric tonnes
respectively. Interestingly, unlikely Italy, although the average emission kept the rising trend
in Portugal, it was still at a low level.

In total, during the 40 years of development, Sweden was the only country whose emission Formatted: Highlight
of CO2 that achieved substantial reductions, while others failed to achieved energy saving
and emission reduction.

Emissions in Italy and Portugal started at 4 and 8 metric tonnes respectively.

Sample:
The line graph illustrates carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions per capita in the UK, Sweden, Italy
and Portugal from 1967 to 2007. Units are measured in metric tonnes (mt). Overall, the
production of CO2 per person in the UK and Sweden decreased throughout the period,
while the emissions in Italy and Portugal continued to increase.

Looking first at the data from Italy and Portugal, the CO2 production in Italy rose
significantly from around 4 mt at the beginning of the period to nearly 8 mt in 1997. Starting
from 1997, the amount of emissions in Italy remained stable at that figure throughout the
final decade. Similarly, the emissions in Portugal grew dramatically from below 2 mt in 1967
to nearly 6 mt by the end of the period.

Regarding the data from the UK and Sweden, the UK emitted over 10 mt in 1967. Towards
the end of the period, there was a gradual drop in the CO2 emissions in the UK to
approximately 9 mt. Lastly, the CO2 production in Sweden started at around 8 mt and
peaked at slightly above 10 mt before it dropped dramatically to below 6 mt by the end of
the period.
