Food and Drug Regulations of Trinidad and Tobago states:

The label of a package of food shall carry:

(i) On the Main Panel of the Label


a. The brand name or trade name of the food
b. The common name of the food
c. The correct declaration of the net contents of the package in terms of weight,
volume or number.

(ii) On any package except the bottom of the package


a. A complete list of ingredients in the descending
b. Order of proportion.
c. The name and address of the manufacturer or person preparing the food and the
country of preparation or origin
d. Declaration of any added Classes 2-4 preservative
e. Declaration of any added food colouring or flavouring
f. Expiry/Best by/Use by date
g. Storage instructions: Refrigerate on opening, keep refrigerated
h. Preparation instructions where applicable
i. Instructions for safe handling

(iii) On any panel including the panel at the bottom of the package
a. The batch number
b. Any registration number will be required
