a) When I see Ford Taurus as an option for choosing a car at a dealership, the first thought
that comes to my mind is that it is a reasonably priced car with good features. It is easy on
the pocket and has features like a strong standard engine, smooth ride, can be upgraded to
an all-wheel drive and a top-notch infotainment system. These features along with its
reasonable price will influence my decision if I want to buy the Ford Taurus or not.

b) Movies and games are recreational time passes and I like to partake in them regularly.
When I think about the pricing, for the movies I prefer a standard rate across all cinemas
whereas the games are concerned I think the ticket prices are more team and play centric
and thus, vary with that.

c) The new brand of the motorcycle has been successful in catching my attention. Even
though I did not want to purchase a motorcycle before I had seen the ad, it has me thinking
that I should finally get one because it has always been a dream of mine to own a
motorcycle. The promotion highlights its features such as design, quality, digital meters
being used instead of analog meters and also explains the USP of the product which is a
high mileage of 30kms per liter.

d) Super Cuts is around every corner and shopping area across the country. I know
wherever I travel or move, I will be able to find supercuts in my neighbor or city.

Q2. Luxury brands like Gucci and Armani can charge more for their product as they produce
high quality, high fashion clothes. Stored like Walmart wants to provide everyday pricing
with average quality. For instance, clothing from Walmart will not last several wash cycles
whereas clothes from branded stores can retain their size, shape, and color for a lifetime.

Q. 3 The one common system used by all mentioned companies is a customer relationship
management system used for building stronger relationships with customers. It involves
storing information of customers and then using this stored information to deliver brand
messages, promotions and facilitate the after-sales program as well. This also makes the
consumers that they are being valued as they do not have to provide their data every time,
they try to contact the company.

Q4. A strategic business unit is an autonomous division of a large company that operates
as an independent enterprise with responsibility for a particular range of products or
activities. An example of it existing at a car dealership can be of the after-sales service
which exists in the same premise but operates differently than the dealership. The
management is also different but it a strategic enterprise of the dealership offering after-
sales for their products.

inflammatory drug that could be used as a blood thinner. They saw a gap in the market with
medicine that did not need to prescribed but worked as an anticoagulant that was otherwise
a prescribed drug. Aspirin successfully penetrated a market without making a new product.
Q6.b) Nestle is developing a new market by making it's coffee available everywhere. This
opens up the product to newer customers as well as existing customers who become more
brand loyal.
