10) Eight friends A, B, C, D, E, F, G & H draw 2 circles (inner circle & outer circle) & 1 Square on the
ground in the following way
At first, they were sitting in the inner circle. Four of them were facing towards the centre while others
were facing outside the centre. We have following information regarding their initial position in inner
circle.
E & F are facing the same direction. G sits to the immediate right of H who faces towards the centre. H
sits second to left of D. F sits third to left of C who is adjacent to D. B sits third to left of A who is not
adjacent to E. G wasn't sitting 3rd to right of F. Not more than 2 persons facing the same direction sits
together.
B had a pack of well shuffled 52 cards. So, they decided to change their position according to the
random card picked by them. They picked card in alphabetical order of their names (like if P, Q & R were
three friends then P will pick first, then Q & at last R).
The position that they will be seated around the square finally after certain movements are numbered
as given in the above figure and not necessarily all will sit around the square finally.
Conditions for their movements are as follows
i. If a card drawn is club, then the person who will draw first will move to position 1 facing a direction
opposite of the previous direction. The second person who draws a club card will move to position 2 and
faces a direction opposite of the previous direction, similarly third person will move to position 3 and
faces a direction opposite of the previous direction & so on.
ii. If a card drawn is spade then the person will move to outer circle to the position 2nd to the right of his
previous position & will face a direction opposite to his previous direction.
iii. If a card drawn is heart then the person who will draw first will move to position 8 facing towards the
centre. The second person to draw a heart card will move to position 7 facing towards the centre,
similarly third person to position 6 facing towards the centre & so on.
iv. If a card drawn is diamond then the person will not change his position but will face towards the
centre.
The cards picked by them are as follows:

RIMCO corporation organized a tournament wherein the winner would be offered a flat in an 8 floor
apartment. The floors were numbered from 1-8 where the 8th floor was the topmost floor and the
lowermost floor was 1st floor. The tournament had eight participants A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H. Each
participant was allotted a floor and only one participant was there in each floor. According to the rules
of the tournament each player has to play a game with another participant. There were several rounds
of the tournament and in each round every player played only once. The loser of each game has to leave
the apartment while the winner will come to the floor of the looser ( For e.g. If there was a match
between A living on 3rd floor and B living on 6th floor, and A won the match, so B will leave the
apartment and A will shift to 6th floor). Nobody returned to the floor to which they were allotted in the
previous rounds. Only one person was living in each floor at any moment. Further it was known that H
who was allotted 5th floor competed with B in round 1.F was shifted to 5th floor after round 2.At last only
one person was left and declared as the winner. C was at an odd numbered floor in both round 1 and
round 2 but not on the 1st floor. There were at least 4 people living between A and G before the start of
round 1 where A was living above G.D had a match with the person living on 6th floor. None of B, D and C
reached the final round. B competed with F in one of the rounds. E was at 2nd floor in round 2.A was not
allotted a floor which was adjacent to either B or E. The candidate who was on 7th floor after round 2
was on the 1st floor at the beginning. The person allotted 6thfloor was not the winner. F and D both lived
at the same numbered floor once but in different rounds.
(Note:- The allotment refers for the initial stage only. After the 1st round, the floors were won by the

such that some of these cars face north while the rest face south. After some time, the owners

initially. They were playing the game of rolling a dice. Each child rolled the dice only once in the alphabetical
order i.e. A rolled first and so on. They made some movements as per the number they rolled. Each child
rolled the dice moved as per the rules and then passed on the dice to the next child for his turn of rolling.

between the package which arrived for Raipur and the package dispatched by Koovs. Flipkart was not
the last to dispatch its package and it was neither for Ramgarh nor Chattisgarh. Jabong's package was
not in the last three upon arrival. Raipur's package arrived first because of express delivery. Because of
the express shipment policy of Amazon, it dispatched the package first and was in the first two to arrive
at Mumbai. Koovs did not dispatch last or for Ramgarh. One of the places was Chattisgarh for which the

Eight different flights were to take off from the Hyderabad airport to different destinations
Jaipur, Kolkata, Lucknow, Varanasi, Patna, Mumbai, Bangalore and Chennai not necessarily in
the same order. Each flight had a different pilot from among A, B, C, D, E, F, G and H not
necessarily in the same order. The flights were to take off at different time and the next flight
took off only when the previous flight landed at its destination. For example, if A's and B's flight
were to fly consecutively and A's flight took off at 7:00PM and landed at 7:30PM, then B's flight
will take off at 7:30PM. The flight time was of 30 minutes, 45minutes or 1 hour. No two flights
took off at the same time. The last flight landed at 4:00PM.
E's flight took off at 11:45AM. Number of flights which took off before E's flight was twice as
the number of flights that took off after Chennai's fight. E's flight took off before Chennai's
flight. Flight to Chennai was not the last flight. Flight to Mumbai took off at 10:30AM. E's and
H's flights took off at a gap of 1 hour 30 minutes. C's flight took off just after A's flight and they
had the same flying time. Neither A's nor D's flight was destined towards Chennai. The flight to
Bangalore was of 45 minutes and it took off when D's flight landed. D's flight took off at
12:45PM. H's flight was scheduled just after the flight to Varanasi. G's flight was destined
towards Jaipur and was just after a flight that had a flying time of 45minutes. E and G had
consecutive flights. Flight to Patna had a flying time of 30 minutes but was not the last to land.
The flying time of Lucknow's flight was more than the flying time of B's flight. F's flight was not

number. They rolled different numbers. Their initial arrangement was based on
the following points( All the instructions are for including vacants seats. 3rd to the
right means 3 rd right seat not the third right person).
• B was seated 3rd to the left of C who faced one of the vacant seats
• Nobody was seated between E and C when taken from the left of C
• A's neighbours rolled numbers which had a sum of 7

The movements were based on the following rules:
• If you roll 1: swap position with the person who rolled 6

steps were numbered 1-12 from bottom to top where 1 being the bottom most
stair. These 6 persons were standing on six different steps of the staircase. They
started to play a game of dice, in which they rolled a dice which had numbers 1-6.
Each person rolled a dice only once and got a differant number and made some
movements based on the number they rolled. They rolled the dice in alphabetical
order i.e. A-F. After A rolled and moved, B rolled the dice and moved. This
continued till the last person's movement.
Number rolled by D was same as that his stair number. F's stair number was twice
as that of D's stair number. The number rolled by A was twice as that of the

different alphabets viz A, D, I, R, S and U. She arranged the letters in a linear row left to right to
form the word 'RADIUS'. The child however took all the letters and rearranged them randomly

The letter that was 3rd from the left in the row was placed to the immediate left of the letter I
by the child. The letter that was placed 2nd to the left of I in the row was placed opposite to U

Accounts and History were to be taken in a school in different time
slots on a day. There was no gap between two consecutive slots. The
total duration of all six lectures was of 14 hours. Either the lectures
started or ended at a time such as 9:00AM or half past of any hour
such as 9:30AM. No lecture started or ended at a time like 9:12AM or
9:20AM.
Number of lectures after history lecture was twice as that of the

number of lectures before the English lectures. English lecture was
not the first lecture. Accounts lecture ended at 1:30PM. The Chemistry
lecture started at 4:30PM. Duration of the English lecture was 1 hour
more than the duration of the accounts lecture. History lecture was
taken before the Hindi lecture. They were not taken consecutively.
The least duration for any lecture was of 1.5 hours. Last lecture
started at 6:30PM. Geography lecture was taken for 2 hours. The
duration of the last lecture was twice as that of the duration of the

There are eight people P,Q,R,S,T,U,V,W seated around a square table

such that exactly one person is seated on each edge and each corner all
facing inwards. They are from different places among Udaipur, Delhi,
Jaipur, Agra, Coorg, Konark, Raipur and Shimla( not necessarily in the
same order). Further it is known that they were teachers of different
subjects among history, hindi, maths, biology, physics, Sanskrit, chemistry
and arts. S was from delhi and was to the immediate left of Q. The person
from Jaipur was seated at one of the corners. U who taught maths was
opposite to the person from Udaipur and was seated at one of the edge.
