Our first activity for Technopreneurship is called Rejection Therapy. This is a social
experiment involving interaction with strangers where we present them a request which can be
accepted or rejected. This exercise helped us to be more confident in ourselves and face the fear
of rejection. Performing this task also taught us how to act or handle similar situations.

The request I chose is quite simple. The scenario involves me approaching someone to
borrow their phone in order to message a family member my location since we are supposed to
meet but I left my phone at home. Starting the activity is hard since dealing someone you barely
and asking them for a favor is very nerve wracking. The location I chose is at the Plaza in Batangas
City since a number of people would be present here which is an ideal place for an activity like
this. Shyness and nervousness are always present within me but it gradually faded as I kept on
repeating the therapy. Not everyone were able to lend me their phones due to different reasons.
Some of them were not able to bring theirs, while others said that they don’t have load or they
were also waiting for someone to contact them. Each person who rejected me are still kind enough
to hear out my request unlike in some cases which a person will totally ignore you.

On the other hand, acceptance left a great feeling of satisfaction within me. There were a
few people who managed to lend me their phones after asking why I need to borrow it and
explaining my situation. I realized that there are still persons out there who can understand and
trust you despite everything. This experiment helped me conquer my anxieties when interacting
with strangers which over all is a good experience for me.
