THERAPY: MUSIC THERAPY (GIVING THANKS)


VENUE/SETTING: VSMMC-MALE WARD

OBJECTIVES:
 To provide meditation and relaxation
 To improve patient’s emotional status
 To relieve patient’s negative feelings.
 To reduce stress and anxiety.
 To improve mental health.

BENEFITS:
Music also helps people take their mind off of physical pain, which can help them cope with a
number of ailments. Music therapy has been successfully used to help patients of general stress,
cancer, speech impediments, high blood pressure and heart problems and mental disorders.

 To address mental health needs


 To development and learning disabilities

PARTICIPANTS:
Psychotic disorders and mood disorders

TIME FRAME:
Maximum of 25 minutes
MATERIAL:
Speaker, Microphone, Manila Paper, Scissors and Cartolina

MECHANICS OF THERAPY:

Student nurses will introduce themselves and the therapy that they going to conduct, they will
encourage the patient to join the therapy.

 The song will introduce and ask them if they know the song,
 They will baa ask to stand up for the side therapy (Oh, I love you Jesus)
 They will ask to sit down for the music therapy (Give thanks)
 The song will introduce and ask if they know the song.
 Student Nurse will teach the lyrics word for word.
 Student Nurse will sing song with the patient. (2x)
 Student will explain the message of the song.
 Repeat again the song for the last time.
 Ask them what the song is all about to evaluate them.
 Ask them to memorize the song
 Thank them.

Give thanks because He’s given Jesus Christ, His Son

And now let the weak say, “I am strong”


Let the poor say, “I am rich”
Because of what the Lord has done for us”
