I am writing this letter to formally endorse Erica Carlson as a student. I have had the pleasure of
having Erica in my Composition I class in the fall of 2019 and now currently in my Composition II
class in the spring of 2020 at the University of Nebraska at Omaha. I cannot speak highly
enough about her passion and skillful approach to writing, her ability to engage in astute critical
analysis, and, of course, her leadership abilities and attention to professional acumen.

Erica is an exemplary writer, and her talent combined with her impressive work ethic makes her
a rare, accomplished student. She is extremely dedicated, but also flexible, creative, and
thoughtful. She continued to push the boundaries with her creative and academic writing in my
class. Her ability to expand ideas and further the analysis of the essays we read was more than
impressive. Her critical evaluation of the texts, including her analysis and interpretation of
rhetorical theory, pushes her peers especially, helping to cultivate a richer understanding of the
material. She had a special knack for doing this; thriving in group settings and helping guide
conversation.

I highly endorse Erica Carlson as an exemplary student at this University. She has fortitude,
dedication, and persistence and is one of the most memorable students I’ve had the pleasure of
teaching.
