While vessel continuously discharging cargo using Deck crane 1 to 4 and Grab Bucket 1 to 4 at
Kandla Port, India.,at around 2015Hrs LT/ 03rd Dec 2019 Deck crane no. 1 Stevedore operator
complained the slow speed movement of crane no. 1 for both slewing and luffing operation.
Discharging of cargo in CH no.1 using deck crane no. 1 was stopped and engine hands investigate
the cause of slow movement of slewing and luffing operation.
Upon conducting troubleshooting measures as per maker’s technical advise, it was suspected that the
hydraulic oil pump for both luffing and slewing was not functioning well.

01st Dec.2019 / 2030LT - Commenced discharging operation using 4 Ship’s cranes and 4 grabs
03rd Dec.2019 / 2015LT – Deck crane no. 1 stopped discharging in Cargo hold 1 due to
malfunction luffing operation. Engine Hands continue troubleshooting works.
03rd Dec2019 /2015 LT – 04th Dec.19 /1500LT– Deck crane no.1 out of order.
04th Dec.2019 / 1500LT – Rental shore crane arrived on ship and resumed discharging in Cargo hold
no. 1.
04th Dec.2019 / 1900LT – Completed discharging in Cargo hold no. 1 using rental Shore Crane
