By my thinking, ISO certification shows to external body that they have complied

with the requirements that Certification Company requires and prevents the
stakeholders from hazards. This certification shows that the customers can confirm
that the claims of quality made by the company are true. This certification not only
serves technical purposes to pursue the business but also the marketing of the
product. When a company certifies its product, it satisfies customer’s requirement
of quality and the customer also intend to select that product which meets quality
standards to satisfy the need. This results in increasing revenue. With increased
awareness to health issues customers have considered the importance of quality
and for this purpose it has become the major portion of demand.
Following example justifies the marketing aspect of ISO certification:
Shangrila (food products like Ketchup etc.) are ISO 9001:2008 (Quality
Management system) and 22000:2005(Food Safety Management system) certified.
They have printed this on their package which is an attempt to market the product.
