1. Go to the knowledge environment and open the book Leadership and

strategic management in education from Bush and Coleman (2000).
Read the chapter 3 about vision, mission and strategy and take notes
about this information.
2. Choose one school (primary or high school) and analyze its vision
and mission and according to this, try to establish the strategy it has
for management. Support your ideas based on the documents you
read from unit 1 content.
3. Post your ideas in the forum, without attaching any document.
Present the school’s vision, mission and your analysis of the strategy
for management.
4. Choose one of the collaborative work roles to work in group with your
partners.

Part 2: Collaborative activity

All the forum participants need to design as the group’s product an

online magazine in order to present the individual and collaborative
products. You need to do the next:

1. Read the document Educational leadership and management: Theory,

policy, and practice from Bush (2007). According to Bush’ typology of
management and leadership models (pg 394), fill in this chart. Each
student needs to decide which model will analyze in order to fill its
information in the chart. Discuss in the forum who will analyze each
model and how you will share the information for the chart.

participant’s individual task (analysis of vision, mission and strategy
of management of a school) and the chart about the leadership
models. This presentation must contain maximum 15 slides.
3. Post this presentation in the forum. After revision of the final group’s
power point presentation, turn it into a pdf file.
4. Take into account the collaborative work roles in order to work
collaboratively in the forum.
5. Use the tool Flipsnack to make your group’s online magazine. This
website let you create online magazines by using pdf documents, but
the pdf files will have maximum 15 slides. Visit the website at
https://www.flipsnack.com/es/digital-magazine/.
6. After creating the online magazine, the group’s submitter must post
the publishing link in the forum.
7. The final group’s document will be the group’s power point
presentation in which you include at the end of it the link from the
online magazine. Submit this document to the monitoring and
