Abstract
Introduction

Illegal gambling is any type of gambling that is specifically prohibited by

state law. Gambling is defined in numerous ways, but requires betting or wagering

on an outcome that is at least partially based on chance, and done so in order to

win something.

Gambling is very big in the Philippines. Gambling in the Philippines is

generally restricted by government laws. Gambling in the Philippines has been

present in the country since at least the sixteenth century.

Illegal Gambling has effects to the gambler such as anxiety and depression,

suicide risk, and both medical (loss of sleep and high blood pressure) and financial

problems (lost their homes and everything else they own). Gamblers sometimes

don't know where to stop, and can lose everything if they become addicted.

Gambling addictions can lead to other serious effects, including loss of jobs,

failed relationship, and severe debt. Gambling has also resulted in economic cost,

such costs include demand for more public infrastructure or services and increased

crimes.

This paper aims to know the impact of illegal gambling to the Philippines.

Specifically to answer:

1. What is the impact of the presence of illegal gambling in the Philippines?
