REFLECTION
I used to take down notes what Father Ronald introduce to us of what is
retreat. Retreat is an attitude. Retreat is making space for God. Retreat is not a
work and it is not about what you can do. In the retreat I’ve realized and
discovered so many things about my classmates and especially about God not
just only them but also discovering more about myself. Receiving
palanca/letters from different kind of persons and reading them one by one
made me feel touched and flattered even those people I’m not really close with.
I’ve realized that my classmates are not only my classmates but also they’re
already my family. Father Ronald said that “Be kind to others even if they’re
not to you”, about that quote I’ve learned that no matter what damaged they
brought to you don’t give it back to them but instead give them the kindness in
your heart and even everyone is so unfair to you always put in your mind that
kindness is the only thing you have to show how you love them just how God
loves you. In the reatreat I’ve felt that kind of inner peace that I longing for, the
kind of self time that I want and the bond with your classmates through
communicating to them not in social media but getting to know them closer.
I’ve realized from Father Ronald that no matter what happens, everything
happens for a reason and I’ve learned that is not too bad to lose people that is
close enough to you if they’re just bringing you the negative vibes that affects
you it’s okay because people come and go so all you just need is acceptance. If
you’re in a perfect family respect those who are not instead of judging them just
let them feel that they are loved and treat them also as your family so that they
could never feel that they’re alone. Father Ronald gives us the chance to hug
everyone and hugging them made me felt the warmth and comfort that I really
need and it felt so overwhelming. Even it just only 2 days and 1 night but it felt
like it’s almost one week because of the learnings that I’ve learned and the
closeness of everyone is like being with them for how many years because we
got to know each other there really well.
