THE PRINCE AND THE DRAGON

CHARACTERS: Prince Vic, the Queen of Hearts, The King, The Ugly Green Ogre, The Friendly Dragon,
Sir Toby

The queen and the prince are having tea in a living room in the castle.
PRINCE VIC: I love you mummy.
THE QUEEN OF HEARTS: I love you too pumpkin.
PRINCE VIC: I'm going for a walk with my knight. Come Toby.
SIR TOBY: Yes, your majesty. Where are we going?
PRINCE VIC: We're going to the lake.
QUEEN: Very well. Enjoy yourself but be careful. There are ogres and dragons near the lake.
Prince Vic and Toby the Knight go for a walk. Suddenly, the ogre jumps out of a bush. The knight screams
and jumps in the lake.
The ogre kidnaps Prince Vic.
SIR TOBY: I hate water.
The knight returns to the castle. He is really scared.
SIR TOBY: (hesitating) um, um, um Your Ma...Ma...jesty.
QUEEN: What!?
KING: Yes. What?
KNIGHT: Um...an...ugly...
QUEEN: What?!
KING: Spit it out!
KNIGHT: An ogre.
QUEEN: What about the ogre?!
KNIGHT: An ogre attacked the Prince and kidnapped him.
QUEEN: (The queen jumps up and the knight flinches) What do you mean?!
KNIGHT: Um. We were at the lake, we were feeding the little duckies when suddenly a big, ugly, green
ogre jumped in front of us and roared. Prince Vic screamed and ran away but the ogre was very fast and
caught the Prince. The ogre then took the prince to his tower in the forest.
QUEEN: Off with his head!
KING: Yes! Off with his head!
QUEEN: (looks at the knight) Wait! You will save my Pumpkin for me.
KNIGHT: Yes your Majesty. I will go at once.
QUEEN: Run!!!!!!!!!!!!
Meanwhile, at the ogre's tower, Prince Vic is calling for help.
PRINCE VIC: Help me! Somebody save me please.
OGRE: Oh, shut up!!!
PRINCE: Let me go! Let me go! You stupid ogre.
OGRE: Roar!!!! Never!
PRINCE: Oh, shut up! (turns around and sulks)

OGRE: No, you shut up!
PRINCE VIC: No, you shut up!
The ogre turns around and sees Sir Toby coming towards him. He becomes very angry and thumps Sir
Toby on the head. Sir Toby screams, turns around and runs back to the castle.
OGRE: That'll teach him.
PRINCE VIC: (sits down on the ground) Oh no! What a useless knight.
All of sudden, a dragon flies over the tower. Prince Vic sees the dragon and starts calling for help.
PRINCE VIC: Oh! A dragon! A dragon! Mr Dragon! Mr Dragon! Please save me from this ugly, green
ogre!
DRAGON: Oh no! I can't save you. The ogre is too scary and I'm far too handsome to fight him.
PRINCE VIC: I'm also very handsome! Save me! Please! I beg you!
DRAGON: Oh, alright. I'll save you. Wait a second.
The Dragon circles the tower.
OGRE: Roar!!!! Go away, stupid dragon.
DRAGON: No! You go away!
OGRE: You go away!
DRAGON: Oh. This is silly. (he kicks the ogre under the bottom and sends him flying)
OGRE: Ahhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!
DRAGON: It's okay. Don't worry. You're safe now. (he opens the door and the prince walks out)
PRINCE VIC: Thank you Mr Dragon.
The dragon and Prince Vic look each other and don't know what to say. After a long, uncomfortable
silence, Prince Vic speaks.
PRINCE VIC: Sooooo. Can you take me home please?
DRAGON: Where do you live?
PRINCE VIC: In the royal castle.
DRAGON: Ohhh. Alright. Get on my back.
They fly to the castle.
PRINCE VIC: Weeeee! I can fly!
QUEEN: What a useless knight you are!!! Off with his head!!!!
PRINCE VIC: Mummy! Mummy! It's me! Your pumpkin.
QUEEN: Oh, my pumpkin!!! You're alive!!!!
The queen and the prince run to each other.
DRAGON: (coughs conspicuously)
QUEEN: (looks at him, the prince whispers in the queens ear) Here you are Dragon, a bag of gold for your
services. Thank you for saving my pumpkin.
